Since July, contacted maintenance via the web portal, multiple phone calls, visited office personnel in person multiple times - all promised everything will be taken care of. Nope. Not. One. Thing. It is now September and they have allowed new roommates to move into this flophouse. Today there is water under the floor covering and comes out of the joints when walked on. Maintenance says they may be able to get to it after the holiday. There are 4 people living in this place and each paying more than $1500/month. The place is filled with flies (see pics) because of trash piled up in the hallways outside the apartment. I understand bad roommates, but why let people move into an apartment into this condition? They are paying for a furnished apartment and are unable to use the furnishings. I visited from the West Coast and cleaned the dump myself, dog urine, rotten food in the refrigerator, cleaned the oven and the absolute disaster of a sink. Those things I can write off to a bad roommate, but the furniture, the baseboards, the water under the floors and the flies - that's all Skygarden. It's been since July 6. This is Sept 1. Ownership needs to pay a visit and spend some time with the residents and the staff and figure out what they are doing wrong because it's a long list. Or better yet, DHEC needs to pay the place a visit.

Love the Jasper. I lived here for 3 years and was always grateful. It's "living lavish," no doubt…read more The grounds are meticulously manicured, and the star deck and amenities are spotless. You will not find a single leaf on the ground. Here's the most important benefit, to me: you cannot hear your neighbors. I'd say that once a month, I'd hear my neighbors drop something, but that's about it. It's VERY quiet. No footsteps, snoring, conversation eavesdropping, or music can be heard (unless your neighbor is having a party of course, but this doesn't happen at the Jasper.) The building is hurricane proof and from what I'm guessing, would be the last thing standing in the event of a nuclear blast - it's top notch. Tenants are comprised of the mid to older age range, with some graduate students sprinkled in. No ragers, no pre games, no screaming. Everyone is nice, and every pet is nice. There are shops/restaurants underneath that are 10/10 and convenient. There are monthly resident events that are well worth the time to attend (sunset paddle boarding, sunset ferry rides, weekly Wednesday happy hours, wreath making, candle making, food trucks, all FREE). The internet is lightning fast. The location can't be beat - with Colonial lake across the street, and the historic district a 1 minute walk away... makes me want to move back! Rent for my 1 bedroom was $3600 monthly. It's steep, but if you spend 95% of your time somewhere, it's worth the money. There is no better apartment in all of Charleston, and I've seen them all! 5/5 10/10 - no complaints.

In keeping with its historic surroundings The Jasper is a landmark property and is among the finest built apartment complexes in Charleston. The Beach Company (founded in 1945) spared no expense and has made sure the project has blended in with the Harleston Village district. The views and wide vistas of the steepled skylines, rivers, harbor from the higher up floors are awesome. Some apartments have balconies. The 5th floor elevated pool terrace and sundeck feel like you are in a lush tropical paradise somewhere. It's like being on vacation in your own home! Other unique features include The Jasper Fitness Club which is located in the 5th floor and also offers magnificent water views. With too many amenities to list The Jasper Apartments certainly sets a new standard for luxury living in Charleston!.
