Well, a few of the songs they play fall under that category, but many of them can be heard nowhere else, and I guarantee that if you tune in, you'll be hearing some songs for the first time. They claim to have a 10,000 song playlist, and I believe it. Ever hear Blues Project before? Until KOCI, I hadn't. Speaking of blues, they include that in their broad definition of classic rock. Good for them! Support local independent radio and give them a listen, won't you? You can hear them on the radio and on www.kociradio.com.

I applied for my own show and it ran for a couple of quarters at the station. I loved my time there. I made amazing friends that I still keep in touch with today and made amazing memories. I really love music so this was a great way to share music I loved and learn about music other people love. KUCI is great for students and community members to get involved in radio and learn about how radio works and even host a show. It can be talk or music. People involved in the station can also get involved in fundraising for the station. Being a part of KUCI during my college years was fun and it was also about real life situations like running a station. It's definitely a team effort. Today, I sub from time to time and I always love to come back. KUCI is very inclusive and eclectic. It's definitely worth listening too and also being a part of. It's the most grass-roots college radio can get.
