When we sold our home this month in another state, our inspector there took an hour to go through it and his findings were nothing compared to the detailed and educational report we received from 840 Inspections. I recently hired "840 Inspections" during the purchase of a home. In the past I've had 6 or 8 inspections done on other homes, so I was familiar with what an inspection report looks like. When I got the report from "840 Inspections", I was surprised. In my opinion the report was superficial. It was mostly just a DESCRIPTION of the house, not a useful inspection report. Much of the content in the report could be found on any real estate website... "the house is on a concrete slab, the roof is asphalt shingle,", etc. Where's the rest of the report? Just a quick test of the smoke alarms and the water pressure. If you're considering hiring "840 Inspections" I would suggest that you look elsewhere. Or, maybe do the inspection yourself. read more

I was not expecting to not only receive a "paper" inspection, delivered digitally, but also a Youtube video explaining the inspection, pointing out the items needing to be addressed, and even explanations for what could happen if these weren't addressed. I'll be honest, i didn't see the need to spend hundreds of dollars on a home inspection for our brand new house. Hesitantly, i agreed to an inspection and boy am i glad we did! Steve was an absolute rockstar. He was extremely thorough and found multiple things to be fixed, including some standing water due to sloping in the crawl space! Could you imagine if we never got this inspection?! His report was fabulous, very detailed with lots of pictures. Moving from out of state I but way too much faith in the inspection company. While they mentioned several issues with the home they neglected the cracks in the brick, evidence of flooding and major termite damage. You can get a refund if you agree to remove a negative review but you are still stuck with a house that you would not of purchased. The inspection was not completed in the best interest of the customer. read more
