The store owner Danny, was unwelcoming to customers, his employees were awkward and didn't seem to want to be there every time I've walked in (except for one girl). The selection is great but eBay resellers will give you better deals than this store. If you check websites like Pricecharting.com, you'll find that they are severely overcharging for everything, they almost make DKOldies look like a saint in comparison, except they're a little more reasonable and know what they're selling. They charge 5% more if you dont live with Scrooge Mcduck and have a ton of cash on hand. Uncomfortable experiences with employees/store owner, overpriced items, and a disappointing store in general other than the selection. Don't stop here, eBay is cheaper! read more

I'm pretty big into collecting retro games, so whenever I travel, I also make an effort to stop by and check out places like this. I'll start with the positives: 1. The stores has a pretty great selection. Especially of retro PS1/PS2 games, and rare ones at that. Everything is also pretty well organize, so you won't be deciphering what is where through straining your eyes for any reason. 2. The staff were pretty nice, though, I doubt the people I talked to will be the same as the next person. They were friendly and helpful, and I was even approached and asked if I needed help finding anything (which I didn't, but they did do it!) Now for the negatives: 3. The prices are pretty steep here for most things. The authority on all pricing for the capitalist retro-game market is pricecharting.com, which compiles and displays what things are going for on the market (mainly eBay, but that is market!) and some/most of these things are well above the MP. Now this is understandable, because running a store like this cannot be easy given the nature of its enterprise, but, to give an example, a PS1 game that is around $180 CIB (complete in box) is being sold for $300 (I don't know if it's even CIB, I didn't check). Perhaps you're someone who thinks $180 for a game in the first place is ridiculous (maybe it is) but if you're familiar with the market, you know that's just how things are. Regardless, that's a 67% increase in price from the MP, which can be a bit hard to justify buying. From what I could tell, the consoles prices' were also pretty hiked as well. But, then again, that's just the nature of the business. All in all, if money isn't a big deal to you, then this is a great place for you. If you're like the rest of us trying to collect/play classic retro games on a less-than-desirable budget, you might wanna check eBay before making any purchases here. Great place, would still, as I always do, recommend stopping by and seeing for yourself what they have to offer. read more

The store itself was EXTREMELY organized. I've seriously have never been to ANY game store this organized, easy to navigate, and with clear pricing. I have only been in the store twice but from those experiences I can already tell that this store is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly. I was in there for about an hour just looking and they weren't impatient with me like my experiences at Gamestop. They have an AMAZING selection of games and the store is very well organized. If you want something retro or a new game then definitely go to 806 Games. There prices are also affordable to most people. I understand some people's experiences will very but mine has been amazing so far and I look forward to going back very soon. read more

These guys sold me a game that didn't work then told me I could only exchange it for another copy. I guess that's not that bad, just really strange. But contrast that with Ralph's where I had the same problem and was told to pick any game in the same area regardless of cost to make up for THEIR mistake... Penalizing your own customers for your mistakes is the definition of bad customer service. Stop acting like you're better than Lubbock. I'm going back to Ralph's. read more

Came here one day after seeing Mario and Luigi on the side of the road waving at me. They had a sign that said to come here, so I did. I like this store a lot. It's pretty cool and has a great selection of older and newer games and consoles. They even have n64 and gameboy games from like 20 years ago. Prices seem fair to me. Workers usually seem nice and helpful. read more
