1 Star -- Beautiful Property, Terrible Management, and What I Believe Is Retaliation…read more
The property itself is attractive, but unfortunately, the management has made my experience here extremely unpleasant. I would strongly caution anyone considering renting here to look beyond the appearance of the apartments.
Before moving here, I lived at another Richardson Properties location for over two years, with an excellent rental history, no late payments, no complaints, and no issues. Despite transferring between sister properties, management demanded 20 years of rental history and made the entire process unnecessarily difficult.
When I moved in, my apartment supposedly had passed inspection. However, it had not been properly cleaned, and the toilet was broken, with feces still inside and a spiderweb crack extending through the porcelain bowl. That alone raised serious questions about the quality of their inspections and attention to residents.
Unfortunately, things only got worse.
Throughout my tenancy, I've experienced repeated hostility, dismissive attitudes, and unprofessional behavior from both the property manager and assistant manager. Legitimate complaints about excessive noise from upstairs neighbors have gone unresolved, and the courtesy officer has repeatedly failed to respond.
I have also requested to speak directly with the property owner on multiple occasions regarding how management treats residents. Not once have I received the courtesy of a returned phone call.
The most disturbing part of my experience is what I believe to be retaliation for speaking up.
On October 15, I was served notice that my lease would not be renewed when it expires in December. Considering my excellent rental history and repeated complaints about management's behavior, I believe this nonrenewal was retaliatory.
Apparently, raising legitimate concerns and expecting accountability can put your continued residency at risk. Rather than addressing the issues, management has chosen not to renew my lease.
I understand that property owners have the right to make certain decisions about lease renewals. However, residents should not feel intimidated or afraid to report problems or question how they are being treated.
My biggest complaint isn't about the property itself. It's about the people managing it and the lack of accountability from Richardson Properties.
A nice-looking apartment means very little when residents are met with hostility, their concerns are ignored, and they are left feeling that speaking up could cost them their home.
My advice: Think carefully before signing a lease here. In my experience, management is friendly only until you have a problem that requires them to do their jobs. I cannot recommend this property under its current management.
