Customer service is terrible. They never answer the phone, never return phone calls, emails or…read moretext. Constantly locked out of unit for some reason ir another. They brag about customer service but pretty much none exist. I'm locked out 70% of the time I go. I have to spend 20-30 minutes each time with the secondary lock company to try to get in. That's if they are open. After 9pm or before 7am, forget it. They start begging for payment 10 days before it's due. But lock you out after the 1st of the month and will take your stuff after 15 days per Missouri law. How do I know that, they straight up told me that. The locks are electronic so you have no control over when you can access your unit. If their app messes up or their system messes up, you can't get in. Which, is pretty common, more than 50% of the time. Rent somewhere where you can put your own padlock on the door so you have control of your stuff.

Simply by visiting the office, you'll notice nine cameras are visible to the employee operating the desk (Paul Boles) on a monitor at all times. I appreciate knowing that my belongings are secured first by the premises being monitored by staff. Further, the fencing around the facility are tall, discouraging unauthorized individuals from entering. Finally, the facility is gated with a code that only tenants and staff have access to. I primarily chose my storage unit facility based on the security features, and Countryside Self Storage far outweighed the others I assessed. This particular storage facility was also close to my home, making trips back and forth incredibly easy for me! I also felt that the price of the unit I leased was more than reasonable: $49/mo. for a 5x10 unit. I am incredibly happy with this price, especially considering the extensive security of this storage facility. Finally, the customer service I received from Paul Boles was above and beyond. I was able to walk into the office and obtain a storage unit within thirty minutes--and Paul was more than professional, relatable, and simply enjoyable to talk to at all times. I would recommend Countryside Self Storage far beyond any other facility in Joplin, hands down.

The lock the company provides was cut and ALL his stuff was stolen. A unit a few away from his was cut as well. They have CCTV, locked gate and a lock on the unit. Lot of good that did. Someone had to have seen something, as they called the next morning when he discovered it and the police were there. That tells me they watch the video every morning. Horrible experience.

But they have a dumpster on site that nobody is allowed to use except for the property manager ( which is ridiculous ) people with units can't even throw anything away from their units on the property. If you leave anything next to their locked dumpster they threatened to have you evicted from your unit ( that's not right )! Plus each year the cost of the rental unit goes up - started off as $72 a month and now it's $124 a month.
