I'm nobody -- I have neither big $, nor big aspirations, but I have a sincere passion for motorsports. My experience with 7's Only Racing has been fabulous -- Bette, Tom and team have treated me like gold. I do most of my own work, as I trust few others with my life when racing, yet I've come to trust them to work like I do -- they're better than me, of course, but they take the same care and thought to ensuring the work is done as well as I would have, if not better.
A small story: I have had axle problems in my road racing Honda Civic since I bought it. It came to a head one weekend when I was running a HPDS event by myself. I had an axle break and shred a line -- what a mess! To save my weekend, 7's Only:
1) Sourced a custom brake line, ordered it for me from a hydraulics supply company in Bakersfield, and had it ready for me to pick up 40min later so I didn't miss my track event. GO TEAM! Well, when the threads turned out to be the right pitch, but were slightly larger OD, 7's Only trimmed them up to work wonderfully, saving me from possibly stripping the factory female connector. Whew! 2 saves in one.
2) Figured out why I keep shearing axle nuts off my driver's side axle. After a series of intelligent questions, Tom picked up the problem, called a friend who specialized in Honda/Acura racing and the 3 of us figured out what seems to have been the problem: an error in the torque specs in my Haynes Repair manual! Since the fix, no breaks!
No, they're shop doesn't look like a mega-$ shop, but I cannot overstate how glad I am that they're in business and care about small-time customers like me.
