I just love coming through Colfax on my way home in Secret Town to get gas and maybe a quick bite of something to eat! Danelle works at the front counter, and let me tell you, she is so fantastic!! Her smile makes everyone around her smile!! I've seen it while waiting in line!! She looks every customer in their eyes, is more than patient and polite... She makes you feel like she's your sister, and one that actually loves you!! Lol She seems to love herself enough to love everyone else and loves her job enough to find meaning in it, so she exudes this peaceful calm yet energetic and loving disposition and she shares that with everyone! Yes, I gotta admit, she's the type of girl you just want to get to know better. But that's a perfect person to showcase in a public relations position for customer satisfaction, right?? I'm very satisfied every time I stop by there when she's working. She picks my mood up when I'm feeling down. She's so quick witted and willing to get your needs met without and confusion. I read the few other comments posted here and they all call out this older woman whom I've never met... yet. Maybe she's already "moved on" or "passed on"... Whichever she deserves, right?? Lol It's unfortunate that these people couldn't run into Danelle, because they would rave about the awesome customer service and attitude that comes from her. She's definitely a special gem, and I can't wait to be in her presence again. (Especially when I'm feeling defeated in life. That's when you cherish such a wonderful human as Danelle the most.) We stopped at Valero to use the restroom on our way to Reno and we're told that he just cleaned and we couldn't use it! He told us to Chevron. First of all, the cashier was super sweet and friendly! But in reality, the only thing worse than reviewing two hundred 7-Elevens is to review a gas station you've visited once and don't plan on ever seeing again. Generally on our way to Sugar Bowl we stop by the Chevron station in Colfax to gas up. Today the prices were such a huge difference that we ended up driving to the other side for 76 and saved about $0.40/gallon which is amazing in terms of price difference from the surrounding gas stations. This 76 had a convenience store and a large sign for their outdoor bathrooms. Apparently they close these after 8pm but they do have bathrooms inside which is helpful. The bathroom did smell like someone smoked inside and it was okay in terms of cleanliness. Not bad for a quick pit stop to snow fun! read more

Normally a very nice gas station with kind employees had an incredibly rude counterwoman tonight 11:50 PM . Snapped her fingers at me over an ID, didn't want to walk ten feet to open the liquor cabinet, made me not even want to buy my things here but it's the only place open. Alicia is the rudest lady I've ever come in contact with why she still has a job I don't know.i used to visit 3 to 4 times a week but the last time I wanted to punch her in the mouth after she rolled her eyes and barked like a dog for the last time when I as kind as I could 2nd time that week for French vanilla creamer at 4 am hmmm how much creamer will be needed in the morning hello biggest item purchase in the am so I asked her to do her job and I get amazing treatment...left cup on counter and went to chevron where the cute little old men are outside have coffee and conversation I go pay more for my gas but omg the person there likes his job and the coffee was 99cents more than half price ..so I get home and ready for work and google the store and of course all the reviews are how amazing of a person she is and her customer service skills are fantastic...not I call to talk to a manager and she tells her side of the story as I'm on phone listening so I explain to the lady that has been there for 22 years I started explaining and then told her U Work with her every day YOU know exactly what I'm talking about She apologize a lot ...I told her it's not her fault but she can upset the wrong person so early in the morning.... read more

Honestly, I want to give this place 5 stars. I really really want to, but I cant. Every person who works here has brought me nothing but smiles and pleasant exchanges save one, and this one person ruined what otherwise has been a friendly and quick place. Specifically the "sales team lead" here. Not sure if she was having a bad night or what, but amid overall blunt crassness, my girlfriend and I were harassed for not showing her our refill cup (which I didn't know was standard) and barked at while trying to use our rewards card for the first time since acquiring it. Last winter I-80 was shut down which turned out to be 12 hours due to heavy snow. I was determined to get back home to Reno. We decided to wait it out in Colfax. We parked at the 76 gas station and the clerk was very gracious to accommodate us on anything we needed. He also had great convo and was in good spirits (12am-4am). The bathrooms was as clean as it can get. Keeping in mind hundreds of people were also turned away from Donner Summit and had to search for a restroom. We travel from Reno to Sacramento all the time. If we every have to stop in Colfax we make sure its the 76 Station. read more
