Really pretty quite hotel. Lots of restaurants and bar within walking distance. The Wellington Museum is right across the street.

It it's close to the waterfront, the nightlife and shopping. Good choice. The hotel itself is well appointed, although the rooms have a surprising dearth of electrical outlets. (bring an extension cord) The decor is moden/cool with lots of artwork. Beds are large and comfortable. They have a pillow menu and you can order your choice from five or six kinds, ranging from goose down/soft to "European square", whatever that is. So, you will be comfortable. Now, let me get to some useful facts. Get the apartment hotel, not just the hotel. The rooms are a little bigger and a little more expensive. But, they have a decent kitchenette for making breakfast and a small washer/dryer. Worth every penny. A decent branch of the New World supermarket is across the street. You can get orange juice and eggs there for a fraction of the cost of the hotel restaurant. (my favorite juice at New World is from Charlie's Honest Squeezed.) The Sunday farmers market is across the street. Very good stuff, but also things the supermarkets won't buy. Choose carefully. If the weather is nice, walk along the waterfront and enjoy the pop up shops. In any weather, the TePapa Museum is one of the best in the world and essential for understanding New Zealand. The restaurants and bars on Cuba Street are a short walk away. My favorite Wellington restaurant, Ortega Fish Shack, is not in Cuba, but is a six minute walk away.

When we walked in we were greeted and checked in. Our room was on a very high level and the views were amazing. We also had $100 hotel credit which we used at the bar one night for snacks and drinks. We were welcomed into our room with a cute little gift baggie with chocolates and a card. The room was amazing- had everything you'd need including a microwave which I think some other New Zealand hotels were missing. They had valet parking and providing a service called Turn Down Service. Someone knocked on our door around 6pm to ask if we're interested- I was curious so I asked questions/- what's included, it means they tuck you in, give you tea, and chocolate. I was scared I had to tip so we denied but she was so sweet and offered us the chocolate and tea which is happily took. We also had another instance when I was attempting to warm up leftovers but missing utensils and called downstairs and they delivered three to go utensils packs on a platter like a proper delivery, it was incredible. I have no bad words about this hotel, good proximity to of the main area/ walking distance. Highly recommend if staying in Wellington!

Translation: it is convenient, I walked everywhere during my stay, and I feel extremely safe even at late night. Walk near the water is only 10 minutes walk. To be on Lambton Street is 10 minutes walk. To go to where the restaurants near the water is like 20-25 minutes. I highly recommend Whitebait and Charley Noble. The room here is spacious, functional and super cute. Very boutique hotel and in style.

Ibis Wellington - Best request fulfillment ever. I asked for a picture of Nicolas Cage in my room, and the hotel replied with a flourish.

It was a decent pit-stop, not the most glamorous experience, but a nice reliable accommodation- The room was clean, with a fantastic view of the city, offering coffee/tea selections, bottled water, fresh milk, comfy bed, pillows, and soft towels- very nice quality stay. Hot water & great water flow. The breakfast bar was fantastic ($28pp for a full breakfast) offering a selection of fresh fruits, charcuterie, variety of cereals, variety of hot options (eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, hashbrowns), variety of breads (toaster available), sweet pastries, juice bar, diy coffee nook, and a made-to-order eggs & pancake station. Everything at breakfast was quite delicious- I made myself two large pla tes to try a bit of everything (minus the made-to-order station). If looking for a spot, easy to walk downtown, affordable, and reliable, I do recommend.

Is that an extravagant expense? It's just not worth the money. Go somewhere else. Parking was full so we had to park on the street and get up early to put money in the meter. The staff that helped us upon arrival were just fine. But they cannot enhance my rating because this hotel room was shabby and subpar. We thought Accor was a solid company but their low end hotels are just that, low end and priced too high for what you get.
