I taking just a few items from my dad's place as he passed away just over 1 week ago. The Indian driver in car 62 was not only 10 mins late but he immediately tried to charge me and my 74 year old mother double the fare. When we disagreed he became extremely rude, confrontational and aggressive. I have never in all my years experienced such distress and bad customer service. As no manager was available on Saturday evening I now have to wait and see ehat the company manager has to say on Monday. However, the gentleman who did answer the phone was very polite and apologised on behalf of the Company. #hullcars #01482606060 #hulltaxies #Hull #taxi

Was told it was arriving so went out the front of my friends house at 10:00pm. Understood it was Hull Fair and waited a bit. At 10:15 I called and a lady answered- 'Sorry, it will be 5-10 minutes' .I waited. At 10:35 I called back to a male answering the call' The taxi was dispatched to your address at 10:18pm and you weren't there so he's left and now there are no more taxis.' I said 'I appreciate your computer says that, but it's got it wrong. I'm a human telling you I've waited for 35 minutes outside and it hasn't arrived' We argued this for a while until he agreed that he was prepared for me to walk home rather than send another cab or admit they were wrong. Great support for a woman at night from a trusted taxi firm in Hull. I have had lots of good experieces with this firm for many years. This is why it is so upsetting.

Nope I'm not sad, or from a rival company. Nor do I have any interests in any other taxi company…read more I understand taxis can't help traffic but if I book a taxi at 7.15 for 8 then I'd think there'd be some sort of priority, but 35 are consistently late, and whilst I accept other companies are just as bad 35 staff lie to you, Its round the corner so you wait, its 3-4 mins away, so you wait only to ring back and be told its on a street that's 10 mins away. I actually rang the manager, lord knows if it was the manager because his professionalism was lacking but none the less, I was told "jobs are taken on good faith" which apparently means booking early means nothing, if no one wants your job it gets tossed back and that they treat contracts the same. And every time I discussed booking a taxi with the man he told me off for swearing lol! I explained I need taxi for school runs and that my child was late for school, and asked if I booked the taxi 20 mins early and it got there on time would it wait for me, he said it was not his drivers responsibility to look after my child... What??!! How?! Huh!! This is the manager!!! Lost cause!! Useless!! Book at your risk, they used to be a hell of a lot better which is why I always end up calling them but I think it's definitely time I find new numbers.

I travel fairly frequently with P&O Ferries from Hull to Rotterdam or Zeebrugge as I really enjoy…read moresailing and the mini break experience. The ferries leave between 1700 and 2130 and you check in a few hours before. On board you are alocated a small but perfectly formed practical and comfy cabin. The crossing happens overnight and you are at your chosen dock early in the AM. The prices are very reasonable and it is best to opt for all meals onboard at the time of booking. The food is a hot buffet type Restaurant and is all you can eat) It is always good qaulity with plenty of choice and there is a good salad bar and soups on offer. There is also a more expensive Ala Carte Restaurant onboard. Finally there is a cafe that serves tea and coffee til 0100, sandwiches are also available. The bars are open until around 0100 and the prices are mid range. there is a live band on each Evening and they are pretty good, quite similar to the club type cabaret style. Generally the crossings are peaceful, but the wend crossing can be pretty lively with Stag and Hen type parties and the beer monster guzzling types( ohh what a snob i sound... Bruges is a lovely tranquil place for a day out and Amsterdam certainly has it's own charms to offer. The typical ferry trip is a 2 night sail and a full day in the chosen resort. You can of course opt for a night in the resort for an extended stay. Service on the ferry is generally very good, although the Zeebrugge crossing is a larger, newer more stylish vessel, where the Staff are mainly Philipino very polite and helpful and tend to be a cut above the mainly Portugese staff on the other crossing. The cabins are clean and well appointed and are all on suite with bunk type beds. I would really recommend these mini breaks for a trip and my recent trip cost under £100 for x2 nights, all food onboard and return resort coach travel)

The P & O Ferries are great for low cost breaks! We recently went on the P & O Ferry to Bruges…read more Very good value return travel on the ferry and we took the option that P & O give you of staying an extra night in Bruges. There's plenty of bars on the ferry, also a small cinema and a couple of shops. The restaurants were really well organised and it was good food. Our cabin was compact, but clean and had everything you need. The ferry itself is kept to a high standard. The only downside we felt was that the main entertainment bar was the smoking bar. (i.e. You couldn't smoke anywhere else on the ferry but here and outside so it was very smokey). Not being a smoker I found this a little bit annoying (probably because we've become so used to people not being able to smoke in bars and restaurants over here). That aside, I would definitely recommend using P & O for short breaks. If you have the option book outside of school holiday time as it's so much more relaxing when it's not as busy!
