I have always wanted to take a long train trip. So we went from truckee to Galesburg Illinois on…read morethe zephyr. The views are amazing and everyone should see this. However, the train trip was a disaster. 1. Our car (632) never loaded any water so the first night we had to use the toilets and showers in another car. 2. We were told we could bring four bags. We only brought two. The steward brought us one and said we had to keep it in our room as they had no place for it. 3. We wanted to ask a question so we rang our bell- the steward (Jose) came an hour later. 4. When we were ready to go to bed we rang for the steward to make the beds and he came to the door and said "get out". I said "oh you want us out of the room?" He said yes. Get out. 5. I expected the food to be pretty good. It was not great. The pasta was cold and hard. 6. The train was very rough. The beds were hard. Very hard. I have had smoother rides on a wooden roller coaster. It was almost impossible to sleep and getting into the top bunk was very difficult. 7. We asked for dry towels on the second day and the steward indicated we just needed to hang up the current towels. There is no room to hang up towels in these rooms. 6 the waitress in the dining g car indicated she was looking for another job. Jose was very rude. The employees are clearly not happy and it shows. 7 the temperature in the rooms could not be controlled. We went from hot to very hot to very cold regularly. 8. There was a damp sewer smell constantly in the cars. Not just ours. It needs a better "airing" out. 9. The ceiling tile over my bung came unscrewed and the tile fell. I jade to replace it and screw it in myself. My love affair with trains has ended. Amtrak killed it.

A better title for this listing should be the Historic Osceola train station. I've been here…read morebefore during a previous California Zephyr train journey as we got off here to visit family. This time around, my Dad and I were on a road trip and stopped here to take another look. CONS - This is an unattended station, which means you need to have purchased your ticket in advance and that there's no provision for checked baggage. No information is available on when the California Zephyr actually stops here (in either direction). PRO - Impressive restored historic train station, both inside and out. It's well worth your effort to park and wander around. - Plenty of parking. Refer to Amtrak for long-term options.

Never tried "long term" airport parking before. Found a Groupon for Jet parking and decided to give…read moreit a try. The Groupon made the price even better. It wasn't expensive to start with. You jump online for their website and pick you time frame. The website has you enter in the airline information so they have the coming and going times. You pay online. When we arrived for the reservation the gate arms were up and we made our way onto the lot to find a spot. They did have good amount of spots open and I luckily found a nice corner spot. I pulled in and hugged the far line to give the one spot next to me ample space for the next week. I parked up near the fence along Fleuer. A nice lady came around with the bus and hopped right out. She snagged up our luggage and got us up onboard. She confirmed our information and took us right over to the airport. The lot is literally across the street. I know they had signs posted that they have no responsibility for damage to vehicles, but it was nice to see the fence and my spot had lots of room. The lady also informed us that their cameras on the property. I didn't look, but it was nice of her to mention. The lady who took us to the airport was very sweet. She gave us a card with the phone number and told us to give them a call when we arrived back. She dropped us off right by the check in area. It was simple when we returned. We called after we had our luggage. The driver asked if we were outside, and we said yes. He let us know he would be right back as he was dropping off another. We found the parking pick up area. The driver didn't help us with our luggage this time. He apologized and said he had a shoulder injury otherwise he would help. He got us back across to the parking lot safely and dropped us off. Again apologizing about not helping unload. It wasn't a problem as we only had a bag each. My car looked fine. No tampering, and everything as I left it. If we ever needed to do this again, I think I would use Jet again.

Terrible service and abhorrent business practices. Total scam…read more We parked there because they tell you they have a free shuttle there and back. They take your flight number so they can "watch for your arrival." They tell you that you can text or call when you get back and they will promptly come and get you. They never did come to get us. So not only were they apparently not watching for our flight, they also just didn't respond when we tried to contact them. After wasting our time waiting for them, we had to pay for a ride over to get our car. Then when we got our car, there was no one around so we just left. On top of all of this, they had the nerve to both text us and call us - finally! But not to apologise for abandoning us: they called to demand payment! They actually had the nerve to ask for $40 when it was a $10 a day rate and we were parked there for 72-73 hours. we asked if they would be camping any of it considering what a hassle it was and that they did not keep up their end of the bargain, and she offered to takeoff $10 so basically that put that at exactly the price it should have been to begin with. Between paying them the $30 that they did not deserve for not doing their part, and paying for our ride over there, we still paid over what we should have to begin with. Super sketchy. Avoid it and park either at the airport itself or at Keck which is nearby with really nice people!
