This makes me sad to rate poorly but it is just not that good. We wanted Real Mexico but were in a time crunch so we stopped in. We've been before and it's just okay. If you're into mariachi bands literally playing right next to your head and are less of a baby about hangovers than my boyfriend and I, you can handle it. Service was great the food was a little on the greasy side and the the chips came out cold. Salsa was also very sweet. But the food had a good flavor might just been the time of day that we arrived for the chips to be cold kinda came at an off time will be willing to try at a different time again to see if better. The ceviche was good. Really good! The chilaquiles were awful. The sweet salsa is horrible. But the service was the worse. The waitress refused to wear her mask. Everyone else wore theirs. I asked for the bill and she disappeared. My husband had to go look for her. Waited and waited before anyone helped him. And no,, he's not hispanic. Food is so mexican style and seafood. I have been eating here for three years. Never had complaints and the waitresses are kind.

Myself and four co-workers went to lunch, as this place has come highly recommended. The chips and salsa were good, the cheese dip was good, the lunch portions were humongous...and included an extra serving of cockroach buried in my ceviche. This is a good, solid Mexican restaurant with great service if you can get the servers to understand you. (Point at the things you want on the menu, otherwise I hope you speak Spanish.) Things I love: their fresh pico de gallo, their homemade taco chips that are NOT salted, their grilled shrimp, anythings with chicken and melted queso blaco, their rice and beans, their enchiladas, their fajitas, and their lunch specials. Service was THE WORST. The chips and salsa are great. We ordered and got our food pretty quick. The food was bland. Again, a chile rellano is a stuff poblano pepper...not diced bell pepper with puke on it. It looked like it was cooked by Chef Mike (microwave). Red sauce over everything. I will never understand that. We finished our food and 20 minutes later...guess who shows up? Super Server!! That is sarcasm...I'm laying it on thick..thicker than their bland beans. I love this place! I can recommend so many of my favorite items! #1 is the Tres Amigos!! Fajitas are amazing! Chips and salsa is amazing!! If you have kids, they will really love a virgin piña colada! It comes in a real hallowed out frozen pineapple!! They have all kinds of great drinks! This is the most authentic Mexican place near west columbia. Beats the other places that throw in a microwave an the food is out in 5 minutes. Ever wonder why they tell you not to touch the plate?!?! Very good food the ground beef in the burrito tasted as if it was fresh ground steak and the chicken qusadilla was excellent. The salsa and chips were great sweet with a hint of cilantro. The deco made us feel like we were back in Cozemel although they could have dialed back on the sailing ship fixtures all in all I would go back. read more

This was delicious! They have the most unique salsa I have ever tried. It is a bit sweet and sour at the same time. Huge selection on two menus. The waitress was very nice but I just wish she could speak more English. It made it difficult to understand her answers to our questions. Stopped here on my way back to the hotel on my last day in Lexington, SC. I had just finished unloading & re-loading a 26' box truck with ATM machines & I was drenched w/sweat and very dehydrated when I walked in. I sat at the bar looking at the menu & a very kind hostess kept full glasses of ice water coming my way as I made up my mind. Ordered two chicken enchiladas, rice & beans & she threw in some home made chips & some fantastic salsa for me too. She also asked if I had any glass ware back at the hotel (which I did not), & gave me a massive go cup of ice & water to go... Very good meal. Loved the salsa. Excellent authentic Mexican food, along with all of the tex-mex favorites we have grown to love here in South Carolina! The staff is friendly and helpful, and there was a mariachi band tonight that sounded awesome. It's worth driving out to this restaurant because they make their own chips. These chips are light and crispy, and not as salty as the typical Mexican restaurant. I definitely encourage you to try it! If you have traveled to Latin America, this restaurant might make you a little nostalgic for your travels! read more

Amazing Mexican food! Being Spanish myself (Puerto-Rican), and knowing there is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Columbia is wonderful. The taste, size of portions, and not to mention the price is outstanding. Owners and some waitresses are bilingual, so there should be no language barrier when ordering. Friendly are all, with the same common goal to please the customer. The unique chips and salsa are extremely addictive. Sundays are the mariachis in full costume playing the customary heritage songs of the Mexican culture. The large seafood soup has all the flavor of the ocean packing proteins and vitamins to combat any cold (illness-just an excuse to order one). Besides, this soup has all the ocean creatures mixed in to include the kitchen sink! Crazy enough I was just there today for lunch; my 3rd time this week! read more
