On the night of June 26 between 11:29pm and 11:34pm, my girlfriend and I stopped at this 7-Eleven for gas and a restroom break on the way home from our 11th anniversary. We walked into the store and looked around for an employee and saw no one. We were trying to use the restroom, but it was closed, so we left without buying anything. As we were getting back in the car, an employee came running outside and asked if we needed anything. We said "No, we're good," and left.
A few minutes later, while we were at another gas station, my girlfriend realized her phone was missing. We checked the car really well and then came back to your store because it was one of the last places we had been. This was at 11:56pm, we had only gone to the Oncue about a block away.
When my crying distraught girlfriend asked the employee if anyone had found or turned in a phone, he said "Even if I did find it I wouldn't tell you because you guys ran out with a bag of stuff."
That was completely false. We did not steal anything from the store. We just came in, found out the restroom was closed, and left. Deciding to give my gas money to a business with an open bathroom. Being accused of theft while we were just trying to find her phone was really ridiculous, especially since she was already upset about losing it.
I expect the store to review these interactions and the security footage from that night as I'd like to know if a phone has been picked up by this accusing employee.
