While waiting for my food, I observed the cook, Shelby, wearing gloves while sweeping the floor. Without changing those gloves, she then picked up the chicken basket that would be used to prepare my order. I immediately asked her to please change her gloves before making my food. Shelby responded, "Oh, I was going to," but by that point she had already touched the basket with the same gloves she had used while sweeping. She then briefly washed her hands, put on a new pair of gloves, and prepared my order. However, the situation left me very concerned about the food safety practices being followed. Proper glove changes are essential to prevent cross-contamination, and customers should not have to remind employees to follow basic food-handling procedures. In addition, I ordered two different wing flavors, but both orders tasted the same and only had a sweet honey flavor, which was disappointing and not what I ordered. I also had an unpleasant interaction with another employee, Ruth. After paying for my food, I realized I had forgotten to get a drink, so I went to the register to purchase one. While I was holding the receipt for my food, Ruth looked at me in a way that made me feel as though she suspected I was trying to steal my order. I explained that my food had already been paid for, and although she completed the transaction, the interaction left me feeling judged and uncomfortable.
