I asked the first cashier how to use the ice machine and that's when I learned that it was broken. The tax when another cashier heard me and offered to make me a few bags of ice. He really made my day. Normally I support local business only but I was really appreciative of the customer service I was given at QT.

I did not know anything about QT prior to them opening a business here. One thing I've found is…read morethat I am so glad that they moved to our community. Having very few gas stations in the area meant that Wal-Mart and HEB set the pricing for gas. They were OK, but our prices remained more than 10 cents a gallon more expensive than San Antonio or New Braunfels. As QT has a goal of being the cheapest gas around, they have driven the prices down for all of us. Win for the consumer:-) QT also brags about their food that they cook in-house. I was skeptical of this because they are a convenience store. I was very pleasantly surprised when I purchased a pizza for the kids, and in having a small piece, found their pizza to be better than most of the home delivery pizza folks that you see advertised on TV. Also, living in the covid times, I was happy to see that they limit capacity, require masks on employees and customers, and have hand sanitizer all over the store. On top of that, they seem to have hired the most friendly help in the area. Will I return? Most definitely!

However, the cleanliness of the store is why I wouldn't give this place a better review. The women's bathroom is always dirty. I have definitely seen some worse bathrooms than this though. I will continue to frequent this place because of how much I appreciate the staff though.

I hadn't planned on reviewing this H-E-B, because I don't have good or bad service here but after a…read moretruly positive experience at Leon Springs, I felt compelled to share a very different one. About a week ago, my son hit his head hard at the register and immediately began crying. As any parent would, my focus shifted entirely to comforting him. What stood out--and not in a good way--was the cashier's response. I noticed her exchange a look with the bagger that came across as annoyance and even threw in an eye roll. She didn't say a single word to check if my son was okay. There was no acknowledgment, no concern--just silence the entire check out process. To make matters more uncomfortable, my son happened to be holding a fidget spinner that he brought from home, and there seemed to be an assumption that he was attempting to walk off without paying for it. The lack of empathy felt disheartening. I understand that not everyone naturally responds with warmth, and of course, my child is not theirs. She was a young girl. Still, basic human kindness goes a long way. A simple "Is he okay?" would have made a meaningful difference, Even "hey here's some bravo bucks" I left as quickly as I could to care for my son, but looking back, I do wish I had taken a moment to speak with a manager.

However, this location has been the cheapest a couple of times, even though we're only talking about a couple of pennies. Every little bit helps, right? Last time I was here I also took advantage of one of the coupons in the app and got an extra large pizza for $7. It was a cheese pizza, and it tasted pretty good. My only criticism is that the sauce needs to be spread more evenly. Some bites I could taste the sauce pretty well and others I could tell it was just bread and cheese. If they could fix this, I would probably order pizza from them more often. The employees are always very friendly and helpful, and anytime I've had a problem, they've been very accommodating. And this applies to all of their locations.
