I went to this 7-Eleven a couple of days ago....on Friday the 13th...wooo spooky. However, my initially stressed and anxious beginning to the day quickly turned to gratitude at the way the lady was handling the register.
I made it into the store at probably 9:21, and I had an appointment a few towns over at 9:30. I was dying for a cup of coffee, and I convinced myself that self serve at 7-11 is faster than Dunkin Donuts or the like.
When I sprinted into the store....you could visibly see the hope drain out of me. There were like four people on the line, and only one register open. I threw some coffee in my cup, grabbed the first coffee creamer that caught my eye (blueberry coffee + pumpkin pie creamer, I wouldn't recommend it). I jumped on line, and immediately fell into that anxious cycle of checking my phone clock, looking at the register, and looking out the window as if my car would somehow drive itself up to the door and yank me out of the store to save me from this stress.
Then I look up, and the woman that is supposed to be paying is swiping her card....once....twice...three times a lady. Nothing. The register lady yells in the back for some mysterious man, but he can't be found. She says the credit card swiper is frozen, and she exclaims how strange that is.
As I saw a few minutes go by, I gave up hope on my appointment. I'll just be late I guess.
But no, this lady jumps onto the SECOND register, and somehow manages to dual checkout, and flies through the four people in front of me and gets me on my way with EXACTLY enough time to get to my appointment at 9:30 on the dot.
Dear 7-11 register lady, I have come to this 7-11 probably over 200 times in my lifetime in Bayport, and this is the only time I have been so impressed I wrote a review (plus a lot of those times I was like ten, and Yelp didn't exist). So thank you, and I hope you get a well deserved promotion at some point in your future. read more
