The first thing that struck me (besides the unenthusiastic customer service) was that the prices (for comparable bowls) were higher than what I'm accustomed to. The bowl I got was $15, so at that price point, I already had high expectations. Only 2 base choices that day - Pitaya and the blue stuff- since Açai was unavailable. Pitaya is hit or miss usually, some places are good, others just taste like ice with a hint of flavor. The girl handed me my bowl while looking down at her on her phone, making no eye contact. Anyway, taste test! Unfortunately the pitaya had no flavor and the rest of the bowl just kind of flopped. Granola was almost flavorless and could use a little more sweetness. I'm wondering if it was just an off day? I'm willing to come back again at some point. Just not anytime soon.

Where have I been??? And I can't believe I am getting an FTR???!!! What an awesome start to my day! So there are so many awesome choices, tea, smoothies, shakes. A really nice space with a sizable bar to socialize. I spoke with the very gracious owner. She answered all our questions and even gave us reward cards and info on how to call in our orders. They open at 5 am!! This place keeps getting better and better. I soooo want to see this place succeed and do well. My only criticism is that that name would imply it's like a GNC or vitamin type place. Oh no, this a very sociable smoothie bar. So I asked, why is it not advertising and drawing more people in from the street? Well, I guess there are restrictions on advertising by the associated supplement supplier. The check-in process was easy, they had us do it ourselves on their mini screen. The instructor noted that I was new to their space and went out of her way to welcome me, ask if I had ever practiced yoga before, give me a consent card for yes/no regarding hands-on assists during class, explain that the oils are self applied beforehand. The class itself was a pleasant way to spend a rainy Sunday morning. Big windows let a lot of light into the space even on gray days. This class in particular to me felt both a) more like just a normal vinyasa class with some cool down poses, and b) also like a mini workshop what with the oracle cards and assists and perfectly paced music. For just $18! Don't miss out local, friends. The instructor was okay; admittedly she missed a few poses in her sequences from side to side and she seemed to linger around me specifically when emphasizing particular cues (maybe she didn't trust that this wasn't my first class?). Her assists were lovely reiki like touches, but also maybe a little too overcorrective in spots. Bummer that their cafe wasn't open when I visited. It seems like one of the few options in Muskegon for vegan eats. I was hoping to load up on immunity shots, smoothies, avocado toast, and tempeh/chickpea wraps for my hotel room. Maybe next time.
