What a phenomenal place: the entire establishment imparts a 1920s era speakeasy atmosphere. The 606 Jazz Club is situated in a fairly abandoned street, and you have to look for the place. Then you ring the bell and someone comes to open the big, heavy, metal door. You descend the stairs and you enter the dimly lit room. I felt right at home and did not want to leave. Ever. The jazz was so amazing I did not even care anymore about how the food came out, which came out surprisingly well. I started with an oven metled goat cheese and then had the salmon, which had a little too many bones in it, but whatever. The wine flowed richly. I went with a large group for my twenty-first birthday, and they were very accomodating. For groups they have a special menu, which includes wine, music charge, and two courses. It came down to a very reasonable price. Unless you're a member, you need to eat in order to drink. I don't think they accept credit cards. Finally, if you're with six or more people, you need to make sure there are both males and females in your party. Definitely make a reservation. Keep that in mind and you'll have a wonderful evening. Truly one of the best jazz clubs, but bottom line one of my favorite places in London.

With the grandiose claim that it's one of the best jazz clubs in Europe, it's impossible not to step up from Europe and compare this club with some of the world's greats, such as Smoke in New York or Yoshi's in San Francisco. But that's not really fair - sadly London isn't exactly a jazz mecca. But actually this is a pretty damn fine jazz club! The formula is a members-only arrangement if you just want the music and drinks, but if you're not a member you can go to a concert as long as you have dinner. And the menu is simple, robust food in the manner of steaks, lamb rump and sea bass fillets type of thing, but nicely done, generous, with style and amusing little flourishes. Wine list OK, not staggeringly interesting. Overall it can get a bit pricey if you add up all the bits and bobs - food, wine, cocktails, music If you love jazz and live in W or SW London, becoming a member is a serious option because it'll pay for itself with just two or three gigs. The stuff that really matters is the music and the atmosphere. It scores high on the first front, and a little inconsistent on the second. In general the gigs are of a very high standard, with excellent musicians, generous sets, great acoustics, the right level of closeness to the audience, and a great deal of enthusiasm. The audience is mixed - there are people who don't care for the music and talk loudly and stridently all the way through, even through the quiet numbers. The management ask for respect for the musicians and for those punters who like to listen, but some people just don't care. This is pretty crap when you've spent serious money on food, wine and music. BUT - this is a great club, great venue, mad location, very recommendable.

0. Alcohol is not extortionate either, and nowhere near the ridiculous £10-£15 G&T prices charged at Ronnie Scott

My first time here was for a Yelp event, and then I returned with another friend to see Matt Bianco. This place is just incredibly comfortable. Great views everywhere thanks to the raised outer circle, and far more seating than I've ever seen in a venue with a dancefloor. Lots of small and large booths to accommodate your group, no matter how many people you came with. The raised area is lined with a bar and lots of bar stools, so you can sit down comfortably, set down your beer to applaud, and enjoy a perfect view of the stage, while those behind you can easily see the stage over your shoulders. Really well designed. The acoustics here are extraordinary too. I do wish they'd have some more popular acts, or, you know, ones I actually know (the current events schedule didn't have any names I recognized). I would jump on the chance to see Bruno Mars or James Morrison here again! However, I would definitely make an effort to find a reason or an event to come back to Under the Bridge. My friend felt the same way. Just something very welcoming and comfortable about this place.

The magnificence of the circular auditorium building cannot be understated, and its natural acoustics are nothing short of spectacular. Not only does the Royal Albert Hall host classical music performances, but it's also a popular venue for mainstream artists from all over the world, From Kensington Palace, it's a lovely walk through Kensington Gardens to the Royal Albert Hall. This was opened by Queen Victoria in 1871, and is named in memory of her husband, Albert, who had died six years earlier. Purpose-built as an entertainment space, today the hall is most famous for hosting the annual Proms - an eight-week-long series of classical music concerts and events. It also hosts all sorts of other events, from film screenings to tennis, so there's always something going on.

If you're a fan of opera houses and theatres, then this one should definitely be on your list. Next…read moreto the Royal Opera House, it is my absolute favorite for watching ballet, as it has just the right amount of poshness to make for an extravagant evening out without being overly fussy about it. You can dress up or not. They leave it up to you. The tickets for my show were also surprisingly cheap given how nice it was - almost half of what I would have paid for the same at the ROH - so booking in advance is highly recommended. The thing that made my night here unforgettable was the unique setup they had to showcase the Cinderella ballet. Instead of your typical stage where you're sitting in front of it watching a "flat" scene, here you would be sitting in a curved amphitheater-style audience, watching a carousel-style ballet happening beneath you. It was almost like stepping into a wonderland where even the scenery came to life. The light and prop work were unparalleled, and the only downside to it was that it was so spectacular, it oftentimes distracted from the actual dancers. Another unique aspect of this ballet was that, instead of having all of their dancers coming in from the same doors behind the stage, many of them came in through the same doors you would come through if you were sitting in the stalls; which meant that you would get to see the dancers up close as they were making their entrances and exits. Some even played a bit with the audience as they were doing so, which added a bit of fun to the show. There are small bars and restrooms located very conveniently throughout the theatre, so it's never too much of a hassle to get your drinks and use the loo in between acts. If you're sitting in one of the Grand Tier boxes, you can also order from your seat and have the bubbles come to you. The hall itself is easy to get to. However, once the show is over, it becomes absolute mayhem trying to get out of there and hail a ride. The closest tube station is South Kensington, which requires a short bus ride to get to. And, the buses become overloaded after only a few short minutes. But hey, no place is perfect.

I also opted for the lamb fries and thank god I did!!! I have to say those were possibly the best fries I've ever had in my life. They are covered in a jalapeño sauce that isn't too spicy, but has excellent flavor. The fries basket was also covered in red peppers and a lot of lamb. Seriously, the fries were divine. The burger was also good, but I'd recommend you ask for it cooked well...there was a lot of pink left in the middle of it (a little too much for my liking). I had a few beers that hit the spot as well. This place has great food and excellent service, I highly recommend it!
