As a registered nurse (RN) and someone whose mother had her thyroid removed at 27, I just knew something was off. I even wrote a book on optimizing thyroid function because I went so deep into the rabbit hole trying to fix this on my own. The last time I was inpatient was when my tonsils were removed when I was 4 years old. Until 2 years ago, I wasn't even taking any Rx medication. Needless to say, my anxiety level was sky high. The atmosphere in the office was super chill. The guy who took my insurance information was pleasant. It took less than 10 minutes from the time I arrived until Dr. Sach walked in to the exam room. He explained all about the procedure and the prep. He didn't try to downplay the nature of the prep but explained how important it was for me to get it right. Our visit didn't end until he was sure that any questions I had were answered. The person who set up the date for the procedure was also very nice. She explained where I would have the procedure done (right down the hall from the office), what time to arrive, and what time I could expect to leave. She then directed me to someone who would deal with my prep medications. Again, I was greeted warmly and with a smile. I could purchase the meds from the office or do my own shopping at the pharmacy. It seemed easiest to just do it at the office. I was handed a gold gift bag with the meds and prep instructions. Everyone I met reiterated that I should call if I had any questions or concerns. I'll update this review once my procedure is complete. I can't say that I'm looking forward to it, but Dr. Sach and his office staff did a great job at alleviating most of my fears.
