Sacha fixed me. Literally. I had injured my knee playing volleyball, and waited too long to get surgery. As a result, all my muscles adjusted to the damaged knee, and rather than recovering following the surgery, it got worse. I went from playing two-man beach volleyball multiple times per week, to not being able to walk a mile without significant pain. I put on weight, got sedate, got depressed, and was generally in a crappy place. My journey to finally feeling free from stiffness and pain happened when I completed the Rolfing 10 series with Sacha. Before my Rolfing Series, I had completed 30 hours of physical therapy, over 10 chiropractic treatments, and massages for about 8 months and was not making the progress I hoped for. I was referred to Sacha by my trainer. I've now seen Sacha 6 times in the last two months and I have to say I wish I could see her every day! I signed on for the full rolfing treatment and love it. The great thing is that she can go to 11, in terms of pressure, and she can also dial that back if 11 is too deep. ;) This is BY FAR the deepest body work I've ever done and I really feel a change in my body, my flexibility and with relief in some of my most tightest areas. I have had three private yoga lessons with Sacha over the past 6 months, to learn some Shadow Yoga, which has been really fun and challenging for me. Today I had my first Rolfing session with her, and I think everyone out in Yelpville should know what a skilled, knowledgeable practitioner is Sacha. The Rolfer with the Magic Hands, Sacha is very professional and easy going at the same time. I felt comfortable with her almost immediately. She is very knowledgeable about the skeletal and musculature systems, as well as nutrition, and other holistic approaches to health problems. I had two back surgeries prior to seeing Sacha and was desperate for any solution to minimize the relentless, chronic back pain I had been suffering for the past four years. Unfortunately, my last surgery left my spine in an extremely tight and protective posture which, Sacha pointed out, was not allowing me to walk or move in a normal fashion. She has dedicated years of study to her profession, and she can feel exactly where the tension and pain is in your body without you having to tell her. She keeps notes on your condition and tracks your progress throughout her sessions. Please be aware that rolfing is more than just massage; it is a very deep tissue and muscle manipulation that can be temporarily quite painful during the procedure. I had extremely tense lower back muscles as a result of my injury that required a lot of work to release their constant state of contraction. Sacha, however, was very conscious of my tolerance level and she was careful to push only as far as I felt comfortable. It requires a great deal of trust, as many of the areas she opens up are quite sensitive for some. If you allow yourself to feel some pain or discomfort during the first couple of sessions and remain open minded to Sacha's suggestions, you will understand the benefits as the sessions progress. Although I am not completely pain free yet, Sacha has given me my life back and the pain relief and flexibility I have gained are well worth her reasonable fees. She has done more for me than any medical doctor, and believe me, I have seen a slew of them. I would recommend you try one session to see if it is for you. Sacha is amazing! My husband and I signed up for the 10 part Rolfing series. I had never heard of Rolfing before (my husband read about it) and thus entered the whole experience with no expectations or ideas on what it was all about. It's been 3 months since that point and Rolfing has been one of the best experiences in body work that I've done so far. Being relatively healthy (mid 20s) people, I wasn't sure at first, what Rolfing could do for me. It did so much! I came to Sacha with minor back problems and wobbly ankles (I tend to roll out on my ankles a lot) and she was able to help me through both. My husband, is very flat-footed and his R leg turn out quite noticeable. She was able to straighten that out on the first try! Overall, I think the best thing we both got out of this experience was a sense of "body awareness." As part of the Rolfing, Sacha will teach you ways to stay in tune with your body to prevent aches and pains. She's helped me learned to walk with my shoulder and lengthened my stride. Before, I used to walk very heavily and thus become exhausted quickly. I also was very clumsy bc of my weak ankles. Today I find I can walk much longer and I don't feel the strain in my shins as much. I would honestly say that Rolfing is not for everyone. It is a bit painful but nothing that a little breathing and concentration can't handle. However, if you're the type of person that can't handle deep tissue massage, then I would not recommend Rolfing for you. Also, remember that Rolfing can't fix EVERYTHING. So, you can always do a consult with Sacha to see if it'd be worth your time. Secondly, Rolfing is a commitment. Be sure to block out enough time for it bc the therapy works in sequence. Lastly, Rolfing is an active process which means you are involved in making the changes in your body. Sacha usually gave me homework to think about between the sessions. It was a way to engage my body to use the tissue that she worked to loosen so that the changes would be more long lasting. In the end, I think Sacha is a wonderful person and therapist. She is funny, smart and super easy to get along with. She has amazingly strong hands and years of experience. I would recommend her even for a regular massage. read more

If you are looking for a therapist who knows how to go deep and rebalance the body you will love Sacha. Her touch is knowing, direct, professional and on point. She evaluates posture and understands the way a body works making her strokes right on. I love deep work and had a hard time finding therapists who will go deep enough until Sacha. Thank you Thank you Sacha! She is the only body worker that has ever really addressed my deeply rooted postural issues. She knows exactly how to "untangle" my muscles and ligaments from my bone structure and show my body how to align itself in a comfortable position. After learning that I had suffered a head injury as a baby, I went to Sacha to get the Rolfing 10 series to see if this would help my hip/shoulders and spine issues as no other body work I had tried up to that point could seem touch the surface of the myofascial tension and structural misalignment....and hallelujah! Due to an accident I have pain issues with my neck and shoulders, also my hands do not open all the way, it is very painful for me to open my hands to a flat position. Sacha Prescott was recommended by a friend, she completely opened my hand working from my shoulder plates down my arms to my wrist and hand, now my hand is completely open again, Sacha showed me some exercises for my hand I do them regularly. And my hands have stayed open, I feel very grateful to Sacha and feel lucky to become her client. I experienced my first ten sessions in rolfing in the mid 1970. Since that time (due to moves, either I moved or my Rolfer moved), I have been seen by 8 different Rolfers, therefore I know a good Rolfer from a mediocre Rolfer.
