I stopped by for the first time and had lunch buffet. They offer several different entrees including curry, chicken and masala. I love aloo tiki so I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have that on the buffet, but I still enjoyed the rest they had. read more

The best Indian in Jax, hands down. We have never had a dish we didn't fall in love with. However I will admit the service here is subpar but the food and omg the mango ice cream make up for it! Their chicken tandoori melts in your mouth, goat and lamb curries are to die for, naan like butter. read more

Best Indian always my go to no matter the situation or drive. Food is amazing always fresh.

i loved how I was greeted by the door and was welcomed in like a friend. I was picking up my first to go order from here and i have to say some times togo customers aren't treated as well as dine-in customers but that's not true here. they have wonderful customer service and great food. highly recommend read more

This is our go to Indian restaurant! I think we single handedly kept them in business throughout Covid shut down lol. We've tried a lot of new things here too. I don't think you can go wrong!! read more

Swung by the lunch buffet for lunch, only complaint, it was so good I had a hard time working after! It runs $8.99 during the week and $11.99 on weekends and includes a drink. Talk about reasonable. There is a small staff but you are able to refill your own drink. You sit down and get rolling. Easy 30 minute lunch if you eat fast or can refrain from 3 trips to the buffet like myself. The buffet is divided into two sections, vegetarian and not. This is extremely helpful for those who care. They also include all ingredients along with the name above the item. Since I am allergic to bell peppers, this was fantastic (FYI no bell peppers on their buffet). Highly recommend. read more

I love Indian food and this is the best! Only problem I have is trying to decide on an entree! The garlic Naan is a must!

Not this one....I'm in search of the best Indian restaurant in N Fl unfortunately this wasn't it. Run down building, pretty dirty inside, impersonal service and barely mediocre food. I'm pretty shocked this one has such good reviews as I'm not feeling it read more

Great chicken tikka masala! Staff was friendly and the food was top tier! Highly recommend it! Their menu is huge and has options for everyone! read more

This is probably what America's introduction to Indian food circa 1960 would feel like. The decor is high native kitsch, starting from the altar in the foyer down to the lavender pink walls. The buffet had a decent selection of standard pan-Indian favorites but everything tasted severely watered down for "milder" palates. Indian food without the zest or zing. The tava chicken was the only standout but unfortunately the tava had gone cold. The whole point of the tava is that the food is served sizzling. The naan were thick and quickly became hard. I would definitely avoid these and stick to the rice and pulao/biryani. The desserts are best left alone except for the mango soft-serve which tasted exactly like it does back in the subcontinent. The ice cream alone earned this place 2 of the 2 stars. read more

Lamb was well done extremely overcooked. Attended the restaurant with a party of six. My wife's meal and mine came 15 minutes after everyone else's. read more

I was craving Indian so my husband & I decided to try this place since it was highly recommended. Was seated immediately on a Friday night & service was attentive. We ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, lamb saag & an order of garlic naan. Our order came in less than 10 minutes. Mango lassi was delicious (so good I didn't even get a picture). Both entrees came with a very generous amount of rice & the naan was a good portion size too. We barely touched half of our entrees & usually my husband finishes his meal and mine so that says a lot about the serving size. Butter chicken was my favorite. Lamb saag was good but not the best I've had. Also love that you get complimentary ice cream. My husband isn't a dessert type of person but he tried it & got his own. Price is cheap. We spent around $30 for everything which is cheaper than our norm for Indian dinners. My only big complaint and that everything was so sticky. The menu and seating were sticky but aside from that, would return to try other items from the menu. read more

Every time we order from this place we are obsessed with the food. If you need a milder option, I would recommend the chicken korma dish and the chicken samosas! So full of flavor but not spicy at all. read more

Good food with decent service. Not the best Indian food I've had a jax but it was an ok meal. The service was quick which was nice the food wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. Looks like they had a buffet at one point and I would be interested in going back if they open it. read more

I have been to this restaurant twice in the past month. Their food is very good. This is the first Indian restaurant I've been to where mild wasn't enough and medium spice was perfect for me. I've had the following: Veggie Tikka Masala: could use more veggies and fresh veggies. YES Veggie Samosas. YES Dal Makhani Double YES Mulligatawny Soup. YES Garlic Naan YES Kulfi Malai: don't bother Negatives: I had a side of veggies today, and it was clearly frozen vegetables. My Naan came out with the dal but wasn't hot. The dessert Kulfi was not very good. Very busy buffet bar at lunch, loved by locals. Great service. read more

Although the food was not the best, the service was perfect. My family enjoyed themselves and the price was right. We will attend again. read more

This is an unpretentious Indian restaurant with a name that does not immediately bring Indian cuisine to mind. One can only speculate on the choice of the name for the restaurant. Be that as it may, the restaurant apparently has multiple locations in Florida and has both South Indian as well as North Indian dishes on its menu. For the uninitiated, North Indian cuisine is as different from South Indian cuisine as Scandinavian cuisine is different from Greek or Mediterranean cuisines. We were a party of three and had ordered onion pakora, Daal Makhani, yellow Daal, Tandoori roti, Bhindi (Okra) and roast lamb. For starters I had vegetarian mulligatawny soup. The soup was a lentil soup with rice & peas as garnish. The Daals were very flavorful and the tandoori roti was adequate. The lamb roast had a default heat index of about 8-9. It was boneless with the occasional piece chewy, but overall, was tender & flavorful. The service was quite prompt--which is not unusual for Indian restaurants, and noticeably better than the other Indian restaurant we ate at, in Jacksonville. I would go there again. read more

I always get takeout from here, I always get the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and rose milk. Food is always fresh, hot, and flavorful. Chicken in the tikka masala is very tender as well. It's my go to place for Indian food! read more

This place is my go to for Indian food at least 4 or 5 times a month and we don't eat out much! Love the food, service, and experience. It's delicious whether ordered delivery or dine-in, but I highly recommend going into try one day. Super authentic vibe and wonderful staff! read more

This is my favorite place to satisfy my Indian food craving. There are two things that I order over and over and over again every time, because they are just THAT GOOD! 1) Chicken 65 appetizer. Yum! Shall I say more? 2) Chicken Khorma entre. Now this has been a tricky one for me. The first time I had it was absolutely perfect (I order it mild). Every single time after that it came out a bit on the spicy side. The great thing is that they always come to ask me what I think of the spice level. I'm very honest and straight forward so I tell them that it has a bit of a kick. Every time, they took it back to add some coconut milk or something to it, only to bring it back at the right spice level. There is a running joke within my friends that go "how much you wanna bet it's gonna be spicy for you this time too?" Love it nonetheless. I can never find a creamier and more delicious chicken Khorma anywhere. To end the meal, you get a delicious mango ice cream to end things on a sweet note, literally. read more

I have only come here for the lunch buffet, but for me, it's everything I want out of an Indian meal. The buffet options are varied and about 2/3 vegetarian with meat options on a separate buffet bar. I've tried probably two dozen dishes from the buffet here and have never disliked one, and I appreciate that each dish has an accompanying description. If you're still not sure about something, ask one of the staff members -- they're friendly and helpful. You'll see one of the most diverse lunch crowds in the city here, which speaks to the wide appeal. Plus, it's a real value at $10.69 during the week. read more

Best Indian restaurant bar none. Their lamb korma is excellent! I can't wait till the buffet comes back! They deliver too

Good never disappoints, great portions, usually nice and quiet and they offer takeout and delivery. Service isn't the best in the world but they'll take care of you where necessary haha. But really the food makes up for it all. read more

I moved to JAX from Los Angeles 2 years ago, and to say the least, the food sucks in this city. But, this place is the exception to the rule. The food here is very reasonably priced and that's about the highlight of this place. The flavors are just okay and nothing to rave about. The interiors are somewhat hideous. We ordered the paneer makhani and the sauce was this bright red which is definitely a lot of food color. The south indian options are better and something that I would stick to. read more

Great little place with some really good food. not fancy but cheap and cheerful! Enjoyed our meal (take out).

Great food and great atmosphere. Service is great and food is on point. My favorite go to for Indian food.

I have been hunting for a spot to get good Indian food since I moved back into the area. After perusing yelp for a bit, I found this spot and thought I would give it a try. Upon arrival, my first thought was how incredibly amazing the place smelled. I couldn't wait for the doors to open. I was there promptly at 11 for opening to get the freshest food. Lunch is buffet style and they seat you and walk away so if you are new to the place, it can be a little confusing. I wasn't sure if I was just to go to the buffet or if I needed to "order" the buffet. After sitting for a bit, the person I was meeting came in so we said what the hey, and just went to the bar. They have everything labeled nicely and separated into areas. My friend had never eaten Indian food before so I was pointing out all my favorite dishes and an employee was very helpful making suggestions etc. I had a selection of some of my favorites and sat to eat. While good, the food was not great. It was actually rather bland. I understand they can't spice things to death on a buffet due to people's varying love of spice, but I wanted to give everything a good dousing of salt. The biggest disappointment was the naan. I have an intense love of naan and this one just didn't come close to being up to scratch. The korma was bland as well and as my favorite dish, this made me very sad. The food, again, was okay but I most likely will not be returning. read more

Fantastic Indian restaurant, the environment is authentic and feels like I'm in India. The service is always super quick and helpful. Mortar Paneer always takes great. There is so much more to try at 5th Element! This is AUTHENTIC Indian cuisine for sure. I couldn't pronounce 98 percent of the menu items, and hadn't experienced the majority of them either. There is a huge selection here ranging from Tandoori dishes to a dozen different kind of Indian breads! I had the mixed veg Pakora - which was essentially fried onions and what appeared to be a cornbread textured cake, encasing a hot pepper. It was a huge portion for $3.99, but there wasn't enough veg variety for me to get super jazzed about this appetizer. The Tangdi Kabeb was another story! This was beautifully flavored Tandoori drumsticks! ($11.99) Absolutely delicious! I had the eggplants cooked in a peanut sauce and cream(?), and while this was a very rich dish I wasn't exactly sure how to eat it. I scooped the sauce over rice and that did the trick. This dish was a little spicy, but there was an undertone of peanut oil perhaps that gave the dish a little 'overly roasted' taste. Not bad, but not my favorite. The eggplant was really good in this dish however! I am definitely going back here as there is sooooo many dishes I would love to sample, but I think next time I will bring an aficionado of Indian cuisine to interpret the menu items!! read more

I could eat at this place every day for lunch and never get bored. The idea of buffets may scare some people but 5th element has a HUGE variety of textures and flavors. What makes it even more awesome is the abundance of vegetarian dishes as well as a separate meat buffet line. 5th element is very large, clean and the staff is very quick to refill drinks and clear plates. The buffet is replenished quickly and the staff is very kind. The worst is to be at an Indian buffet and trays stay empty and is never refilled. The buffet cost $7.99 for lunch. You cannot beat it. The food is fresh and so tasty. In my opinion, the veggies outshine the meat at the lunch buffet with the chickpeas and the cauliflower being the stars The mint chicken and chicken tikka masala are divine. So ridiculously good. Suprisingly, you will see Chinese influences in the rice and occassional noodle dish in addition to a scallion pancake. I use to frequent India's Rest as well as Flavors. These two places have predictable buffet. India's Rest buffet has stayed the same for years. Flavors chicken pieces turned into m&m size chicken where you would have to search for the chicken. You think it's chicken and then realized you were duped with an onion or a potato. Flavors also moved to a much smaller space and I feel very claustrophobic in there. Definitely give this place a try for lunch. Lunch buffet allows you to taste everything without having to pay dinner prices. 5th element is a wonderful addition and my favorite on Baymeadows. read more
