I booked a bouquet like which is shown in pic 1. After I got it, it looks like in pic 2. I feel upset and bad. They said they don't have one kind of the flowers and change it to extra roses. While they don't inform us anymore. I said I can pay more to make it deluxe but time is so limited and they cannot make it. Anyway, disappointed. I specifically specified where to deliver the flowers and they did not make sure they got to the recipient. Ruined the surprise and not worth it at all after all of the trouble. I doubled checked my email and I put all the information in correct. I called the shop around 5pm to say they were not delivered. They said, well, just call back around 6 if they aren't there (they didn't check the order number). So I waited and called back at 6. They finally looked up the order number and it said they were delivered 5 hours ago. Recipient scoured the building and found them just sitting on a table in the lounge area of the apartment (large apartment complex with many stories). Terrible customer service and attention to detail. I do not know why they didn't go to the lobby and talk to the receptionist if they didn't know where to go, or call me. I gave instructions to go to the door as a surprise and instead the recipient had to go out of their way to search for the flowers and completely ruined the surprise. I guess you have to give 1 star, and that is for the fact that the recipient did find the flowers, not stolen or damaged, and they look pretty nice. read more

I ordered an arrangement for a funeral service. I advised the viewing hours were between 1:00 and 3:00pm and asked if that was an acceptable time frame. The very pleasant young lady indicated that deliveries began at noon and she could not guarantee it would arrive before 1pm, but that it would be as early as possible. I left the funeral home around 3:15p and they still had not been delivered. I confirmed same with the funeral director. The funeral director called me on Sunday advising that they did arrive sometime after the service. Delivering flowers after a service has begun is bad enough. Delivering after the service is over... not acceptable. When I called on Monday, I spoke with Linda. She *said* she wanted to do whatever she could to make me happy. So I thought things were going to go well. She then offered to refund the delivery fee and 20%, which I politely advised was not acceptable. She quickly became quite annoyed and advised that she would need to to try and retrieve the arrangement and get back with me for a full refund. Mind you, I already explained to her that the funeral home had in turn delivered the arrangement to the family. So I asked if it was her intent to contact the daughter of the deceased and ask for her arrangement back. She didn't have much of an answer and it was very evident she was even more displeased that I wouldn't accept her offer. She seemed busy, so I politely suggested she check into some options and get back with me, advising that she didn't have to give me a resolution at that moment. I didn't hear back from Linda on Tuesday or Wednesday. So I called today (Thursday). When she answered, I very nicely reminded her who I was. She confirmed that she had the right person on the phone and then said "YOU'RE GOING TO BE FULLY REFUNDED" and hung up. I guess it's good that she did the right thing... but what if she would have done the right thing AND had been nice about it? I may have decided to give them another try. Clearly... that's not going to happen now. Recommend staying clear. read more

Most of my experience with 5th Ave Floral is business-related; I work down the street, and we use them for all of our floral needs. My personal experience with 5th Ave Floral was great as well. I navigated to their website, www.5thavefloral.com, to pick out an arrangement for a college graduation. I called them to place my order, and the person who picked up was friendly and helpful (a tip: if you choose from the website but call in your order, have the item number ready). The man on the phone told me he didn't have one of the flowers used in the arrangement, nor did he have the sign that goes with it, but he said he could find a substitute. I placed my order the day before I needed it, which was no problem. I went over after work the next day and picked it up. The arrangement was beautiful--lush with fresh, vibrant flowers--and it looked as good as what I saw on the website, even with the flower substitution. It came in a big glass vase with plastic wrapped around the flowers to maintain their shape. Picking up the flowers was a breeze. In fact, I recommend picking up your orders when possible, as the store is delightfully decorated. 5th Ave Floral is associated with FTD.com, and they'll deliver to just about anywhere in Franklin county. They have a three-day, 100% satisfaction guarantee. From their website, "5th Ave Floral Co is a Family owned business that has served Central Ohio over 100 years. The only negative is that 5th Ave Floral is no where near 5th Ave. While it ought to be something more like "Kinnear Rd. Floral" or "Kenny Rd Floral," I appreciate the owner's ear for alliteration. I consider their prices moderate because floral arrangements are intrinsically pricey, and 5th Ave Floral's prices are about what you'd expect. Plus your money is well-spent. read more

Recently ordered flowers for Valentine's day. From the moment I made the phone call, the customer service was not where it needed to be. I understand that it may have been busy due to Valentine's Day, but it seemed like the lady on the phone was more focused on finishing up the phone call. Fifth Avenue Floral is horrible and I wish I could give them zero stars. Customer service is horrific. I ordered flowers for someone's birthday and they came all the way to the building to deliver the flowers and refused to leave them with security or ask security to call the recipient to come receive the flowers. They called my work number to leave a message, but didn't bother taking note of my cell number which is listed on my message. Lazy and wasteful of everyone's time. The bouquet was over $100. ugh... i bought the FTD Bounty Beauty Bouquet with the Deluxe upgrade for $89.99. Throw in the card, delivery, and tax, the total came out to $109 and some change. expensive? absolutely, but i was willing... until my gf received the flowers. the flowers were hardly like the ones found in the sample picture. stock image from FTD? most likely. these folks took it upon themselves to replace some of the flowers without notifying me. this wouldn't have been an issue had these flowers looked decent and coordinated well with the other colors. but they didn't.... and the life of the flowers. they started to wilt in TWO days and completely died in FIVE, even with the help of flower food, which speaks to the freshness and quality (lack thereof) of their flowers. fortunately, they gave us our money back after much complaining. i suppose they deserve a 1/2 star for that. read more

We received a large Get Well plant arrangement sealed completely in cellophane. As we unwrapped it lots of small bugs flew out. When we called the shop to ask for a healthy bug-free replacement they told us to put it outside to kill the bugs. Of course, that didn't work especially since the bugs are now in our home. If you are purchasing flowers from here make sure you go into the store and only pay in cash. I made an order over the phone 2 months ago and was charged almost $400 on my credit card and have YET to be able to track down a receipt for the purchase to validate the charges. The person on the other end of the phone actually asked me to "call back" so she could finish what she was working on first...before she would help me. Why answer the phone then? Not a pleasant first time experience, still trying to validate the charges, have had to close that credit card and file a fraud report for the charge....nightmare for 1 simple order over the phone. I went in the 5th Ave florist with my mother on October 6th, 2011 for a funeral arrangement and my mom wanted to pick out something grand for her deceased sister who loved pink flowers, she paid $130.00 for some pink and white carnation spray, well I thought it was $130.00, my mom said it was $170.00, anyway once at the funeral my mom's flowers looked cheap compared to my sisters, hers had a pink theme too, however hers was bigger and had roses, lilies and other flowers, but the kicker is that she said she paid $107.00!! I am not impressed with their displays, or lack of flower arrangements on the floor or actual visible flowers for the customers to view. The card in the flowers said that they praised themselves on having fresh and beautiful flowers and I saw flowers that in no way showed that was true. My mom after getting the flowers found the card and called 5th Ave Floral Co. and whoever she spoke to bitched her out and proceeded to be no help and imply that they did not care about the order and the flower quality. My experience mirrors that of the two previous reviewers. We were ordering a bouquet for a special individual as a "pick-me-up" during a sad time in her life. We ordered the middle grade "Big Hug Bouquet" and asked that it arrive around 10:00 or in the morning sometime. Manager that I spoke with said that was not possible, only could deliver after noon. (BTW I had actually tried to order online but they kept charging me an extra $15.00 for the little teddy bear that came with the arrangement, so I had to call them and order by phone. Not convenient.) So.........they arrived around 1:00. I was very disappointed as the arrangement looked like the lower grade bouquet rather than the upgraded one, the flowers were not entirely included as in the photo, and many of the leaves were crumpled and dying. I called the manager and voiced my disappointment and asked if she could deliver a new bouquet. She offered to come and pick up the bouquet and replace WITH THE EXACT SAME BOUQUET. She said the "measurements" on the bouquet we received were the same as what is quoted on the photo. I argued that the photo is obviously what people use to gauge in ordering the merchandise, not measurements (especially flowers!). I quipped that the next time I order a bouquet I will be certain to pull out my measuring tape prior to ordering. She did not take that comment well and then became NASTY with me. I'm completely disappointment with your business. I stopped in to order flowers on January 28, 2013 to ensure the arrangement would be available for Valentine's day. I was told the flowers would be available between 9 and 9:30 a.m. I arrived on Valentine's day shortly after 9. An associate asked if I was there to pick up and I said yes. She went up stairs to get my order and returned with no flowers. She looked through a pile of orders to try and find mine. She did not find my order. My order was neglected. So, to my disappointment an arrangement was haphazardly thrown together at the last minute. I was not at all happy with the flowers. Some of them had brown petals. I was on a tight schedule so I took the flowers and left. I was not offered any discount or refund at all. This is the first and last time I will order flowers from here. This was a true disappointment and a poor excuse for a floral shop. I suggest you purchase flowers from another business. I know I sure will. read more
