Really captures the vibe of a American diner in the 50s, the music adds to the atmosphere and the food is delicious if a little pricey.

Great tenderness and flavor. We got the Mississippi Combo. Ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends and brisket. I personally wasn't a big fan of the potato salad or coleslaw but it's just a personal preference I think the flavors were more common for Germany. You won't go wrong with this place. Give it a try!

All I can say about this place is WOW. Found out about this place when I was stationed in Vilseck…read moreand always loved coming here before I caught a train into the Nürnberg station. The prices are great and honestly, where else are you going to find good soul food in Germany anyway? The only downside is the wait, but as the owner will tell you that this type of food takes time. If you have the time then stay and sit down to enjoy your food, but if you're in a rush (i.e. a Soldier on lunch) then order ahead and take it to go. Grab some Kool Aid to wash it all down!

I recently met a SGT in Vilseck who suggested me and my friends try his uncles Soul Food…read morerestaurant. Me being a guy from the South (Atlanta, Ga), I was all for it. The restaurant is literally walking distance from Vilseck Train Station (5 mins.) & about 15 mins from Post. Be prepared for a long wait regardless of the amount of people who are there because the owner, Angelo, is also the cook. There's also one waiter but due to the hours that the restaurant is open (usually 6-11pm) it's never really busy(At least not the 3-4 times I've been). On this particular visit it was a Sunday evening. I ordered fried chicken, french fries and macaroni & chesee. Odd combination, but it was what I was craving at that particular time. With it being 4 of us as well as a table who ordered before us our wait was about an hr. Not good if you're extremely hungry or have little to no patience. After waiting our food was eventually brought out. Everyone's food was hot and fresh which makes the wait worth it. The moment we had been waiting for, after one bite there was complete silence. No one had any complaints. The chicken was cooked just right and it made you feel back home in your mother's kitchen. Everything was seasoned with love. Even the fries. From the food to the drink, everything (IMO) was phenomenal. With a little hot sauce the meal was complete and finished to the point of full. The wait was worth it but like I said if you're very hungry you might not have that patience. I recommend to anyone who loves soul food or food period. Angelos never disappoints as long as you're willing to wait.

I really feel this place has potential to be really good. We had two bbq platters, then one for one…read moreperson and the two person one. When it comes to portions, they nailed it. Saying the portion is huge is an understatement. The problem here is the quality and taste of the food. Half of the food was great, the other half bad. Ribs were soft and flavorful, but the steak was bland. Pulled port was fresh and juicy, but the pastrami brisket was overcooked and meh. Curly fries delicious, regular ones hard and overcooked. The cole slaw was absolutely horrible. The burger was ok, not bad but not great. The strawberry cheese was delicious but not true American cheesecake. I have no idea how they made half of everything great and the other have bad. As for service, the waiter was friendly but food took a bit to come out even though when we arrived there were only a few people there. It did get busy later on. If they fixed their consistency on food quality, this would be a legit good place to get American inspired BBQ.

This is the second time I've been to this diner in Regensburg, and I have to say I'm even more…read moreimpressed than I was on my first visit. First of all the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are attentive and professional. The atmosphere in the diner is lively as you would expect from an American diner, and although I've never been to a diner in America, it is everything that I would expect. From their music, to the uniforms the staff ware, culminating in the food. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food in my opinion is outstanding. I have been to a lot of burger restaurants, and establishments claiming to be diners, however this restaurant has to be the most authentic I have visited in all of my time in Germany. It is for the reasons above that I would totally recommend this diner if ever you happen to be in this area. Assistant manager is an awesome guy.
