There is usually a bus every 5 mins and there have only been a few times I had to wait maybe 10. Also, the bus drivers on this route seem to always stop and wait for me when they see me hauling ass, sprinting for the bus from half a block down the road. It's pretty quick and doesn't stop as much as the Dufferin bus, which is often rammed too full of passengers.

I have a love/hate relationship with TTC 63 Ossington Bus…read more When 63 works - it works great: frequent buses, 24 hour service, minimal traffic delays - very efficient and easy. When 63 fails - it fails miserably: no buses for 30 minutes (on a frequent service line), buses bunching up 3+ at a time (resulting in large gaps in service), buses too full to get on, etc. For someone who rides the 63 daily, it works more than it doesn't - however it has a tendency of not working at the worst possible moments (Murphy's Law). Drivers usually are nice and manage the riders well.

Well, they're building a washroom at the north end at the time I wrote this...but still a lack of a snack stall. The waiting area is terrible as well with a lack of a full sized "indoor area"...which is easily exposed by two automatic doors, and since it's located in a wide open space you're not very protected by most weather extremities. This terminal has gone under construction three times since it opened in 2005 and it's still cold as hell during winter...great use of our tax dollars eh? I'd often hit this station and walk over to Shoppers World and Fabricland, a store on the Danforth, across from this mall. Fabricland isn't there anymore. I was quite the crafty kid. I loved going there to get supplies. I made everything from an embroidered pencil case, to a mural for a Chinese school competition that I managed to win. Good times! I liked when we were dismissed from high school earlier. After school, I'd take the Main 64 bus to Main Street subway and take the train eastbound to Victoria Park. I would then hang out at the mall or Fabricland, or both. Marks and Spencer. Coles. Eaton's. Zellers. Those were the stores that I frequented the most at Shoppers World. All of them are long gone. This subway station is small, but it has everything that you need. It has trains that run along the Bloor-Danforth line (line 2). Naturally, when I got to the station, there was a trespasser at one of the stations west of it, so trains went as far as Woodbine heading westbound. With my luck, this incident was cleared and I was able to get to Chester station without transferring to a shuttle bus. I rarely took any buses out of this station. The main one heading north-south is Victoria Park 24. It actually goes north of Steeles Avenue these days. It's cheaper paying with a Presto card to ride the TTC. You save a nickel on adult fare than if you paid with a credit card or cash. It may seem like nothing, but it does add up over time. I tapped and walked through the entrance. I then walked down a bunch of stairs to catch my train. I find Presto efficient. I kind of miss TTC tokens and tickets for nostalgic reasons only. Parking is free on weekends and holidays. The parking lot is Green P, so you can use the app to pay for parking on a weekday. The parking lot is small, but I managed to find a parking spot for small vehicles. I was happy. I saw a convenience stall where you can buy candy, drinks, a newspaper, and more in the station. It felt like old times. Same goes for the payphone in front of the station's entrance. I liked returning to this station. It brought back a lot of memories and created new ones. (472)

Normally along the Bloor-Danforth subway line (it's called line 2 these days, but the former is far more meaningful), a subway station is on or steps away from the street after which it is named. Greenwood is an exception. Greenwood Avenue is a good block west of Linnsmore. I spent a couple of summers in this area. In grade 7, I broke away from taking Cantonese in the summertime to focus on fun activities, such as calligraphy and badminton. My mom felt that I was revolting. My reasoning was that I was taking Cantonese on Saturdays throughout the regular school year, so why not try something different? I won. Yay! Anyway, calligraphy and badminton were offered at Lakeview Secondary School, which was roughly south of Greenwood station. The school became Catholic a few years later, as I recently drove over to check it out. Greenwood station had one bus coming in and out of that station: Greenwood 31. I had the option of taking that bus down to Queen Street East, and then hopping on the 501 streetcar to get home. The problem was that this bus didn't come as often as the Coxwell 22 bus. Instead, I walked along Monarch Park to Coxwell and took that bus to get down to Queen Street East. It now has two routes coming in and out of the station: Greenwood 31A and 31B. The former goes down to Queen. The latter goes further south to Eastern. Buses run every 20 minutes on weekends. They seem to run every 13 minutes during weekdays, which is significantly better than when I needed it. Figures! Sadly, this station does not have an elevator to support accessibility. It does have escalators. Coxwell, the station to the east of Greenwood, is your best best for accessibility needs. The station looked pretty quiet when I was briefly passing by.
