Disappointed. I thought i found a new place for my pedicures and such. The technician was great. Then, the man checking me out tacked on an additional $5 fee for removing what was left of my gel polish. There was not any left on my big toes at all and sparse on the rest. No extra time was taken. I questioned the man and he responded rudely. I paid the extra. It had to come from what I wanted to tip the tech. I will not return. He got his $5, he lost a new client. read more

Went and got a deluxe pedicure, was definitely relaxing. Had paraffin wax, massage, and polish. I got about 20-30 minutes of massage/skin care. As well as my polish looked very nice after. The man I had was very nice and gave good massages. read more

Second time going here. First time was a bad experience (see attached photos - what I wanted vs what I got which is laughable. Wanted all yellow tips and got a weird yellow and you can clearly see the glue and plastic tip. I asked for a beige bottom coat so you couldn't see that and did not get that) I thought I'd give even another chance so went in for a new set. Told them the color and that I wanted a tip. They thought I wanted gel and started giving me a manicure. Got to they part where I asked for tips and she said no you want gel. I said no, I want tips. She said I misunderstood, I don't know how to do that. Wait another 30 min for an available tech and she does my nails. They proceed to charge me for the first tech making a mistake. so I want to start this out by saying that i have been going to this salon for over 4 years. with that being said, they are now the worst nail salon I have ever been to. they used to be the best, but have gone so far downhill It is insane. first bad experience I ever had was 1 1/2 years ago, when I called and booked an appointment. I showed up and the manager walked up to me and told me to leave, and that they were "fully booked". I tried explaining that I had made an appointment but he didn't care and made me leave. after this experience I stopped going there for about a year. then I came back. giving them a second chance was a very bad idea. every time I have gone, the guy who does my nails cuts all over my hands. it's extremely painful, especially when the chemicals are used on the cuts while they are still open. and the lady who did my toes infected my left big toe, so I had to be put on antibiotics (I'm guessing by not using clean tools). the floors are also always dirty everywhere all the time. my worst experience came a few days ago though. I was getting a pedicure when the lady doing my toes saw that I had regular polish that I'd picked out. she then began up selling me, wanting me to use gel instead. I told her I wasn't sure and she said "gel $5". so I was like "oh okay that's a good deal. yeah! do the gel", BIG MISTAKE. fast forward to me getting my nails done by the guy who cuts my hand a million times. I go to checkout and I see that my pedicure is now $30 (the price of the pedicure itself) and $20 (for gel). so I point this out to him. I said "sir, the gel i was told is $5" and his eyes went all crazy and he said "no way. who said that?" I said "her" and I pointed to the girl who did my nails. she then said "No I didn't" and I said "yes you did! why else would I get them???" and so the manager came over (the wife of the manager) and proceeded to tell me how I was "wrong" and that the $5 was just for the gel nail polish remover. I was shaking and visibly upset. I can barely afford for my nails to even be done due to the surgeries I've had lately. $20 goes a long way for me. and I even tipped still because I'm just done. I'm done with going here. they refuse to admit that they're at fault EVER on anything, so I will continue advocating against them to all of my female family and friends in the area. you guys have lost a once loyal customer due to your negligence and shitty attitudes. don't have a nice day. read more

BEWARE!!!!! I am new to Denison, and was looking for a place to get my nails done. Stopped here at five star nail and spa to get a next gen fill, my nails are naturally long underneath and I do the coffin shape. When I first walked in, I stood there for a good five minutes or more before anybody greeted me or came to ask me if I needed help. one girl was working on a pedicure and another girl in the back with straightening up and cleaning leaving me standing there waiting feeling completely ignored. I almost walked out at that point but just wanted to get my nails done how bad can that be right? Well, when I finally sat down, the nail tech had no conversation so I just sat hoping for the best. My natural nails are long and I asked her to keep the length and shape. She was extremely rough with me. They do not soak off your nails here they sand them off, which was painful. She would pull my hand towards her in a very rough manner, and push down on my fingers that have a mind of their own to go upwards. If I moved at all, she would stop as if I were bothering her by picking up my water to take a sip. I finally got through everything, but the worst part was the filing, she was extremely rough and cut me a couple of times, and she seemed annoyed by having to be there. As I went to pay, the charges came up on the screen and I was charged five dollars for the shape and then there was a $10 charge for long nails. I asked the girl why am I being charged for length these are my nails I did not have tips put on she said we charge for long nails! $10? That's insane! I should have looked up the reviews before I came as I can see others have had horrible experiences. I normally would just chalk this up to a bad experience, but it was so bad I felt compelled to share my experience with others, so maybe you can avoid this place at all costs! My nails did come out nice I will say that they did a good job on the shape, but I am in pain and very angry at their nickel and diming with their charges! STAY SWAY!! read more

This salon completely ruined my nails. I went in for a routine shellac polish change. Instead of properly taking my polish off they shaved it off and completely DESTROYED my nails. I got them done and by Sunday every single one of my nails has cracked or broken due to her making my nails so weak. Completely devastated. Do not go here!!! read more

This was the worst manicure I have received. It was very painful, and the skin around my fingers have been filed off. The man who did my nails was in a rush and just quickly applied the dip nails and spent forever trying to file away the mistakes (taking most of my skin with it). I will not be back here. read more

My mother is 71 years old and never wants to go with me when I go and get my nails and toes done, but this past Thursday 7/22/2021 I finally talked her into it. I got a full set of nails which were horribly done because the guy doing them couldn't understand me even though I brought in a picture of what I wanted. I had a picture of light pink nails with white glitter tips and i got dark pink with bright silver tips but the worst part of this experience was my mom crying on the way home. I thought her manicure and pedicure looked really nice and when I asked her about it she told me she was pleased with the manicure and pedicure but that the girls asked her, "grandma, did you do your own makeup?" When my mom told them of course she did they started making faces at her and told her maybe someone should help her next time. My mom was so embarrassed and asked me why I didn't tell her myself. My mom's makeup didn't look bad or I would have told her. How awful to keep calling a client "grandma" and then making fun of her makeup when she is paying you almost $100 for both of our treatments there. I have been going her for many years and now I will never go back again! Shame on you! read more

I've been going here for 5 years, my mistake. I don't like trying new places so stuck with them. When I first started going I used a young tech named Lin, she was excellent, she never hurt or cut me. My big pet peeve is when I have an appointment and have to wait (which is every time I go there) 10 minutes ok but this past Saturday I had an appointment at 1, I went in at 1:00, they were busy, but when I went in no-one asked me anything after standing there for a little bit 2 other ladies walked in and finally someone spoke up and said can I help you. I spoke up and said I had an appointment with Christina ( the owner ) they said have a seat in her chair. I sat there until 1:30, still haven't been spoken to, I saw her in the back working on a pedi customer. At 1:30 I got up and walked out, and I won't EVER be back! They don't care about customer service. She did do good nails but I never left there without either bleeding or very sore cuticles for days. I went down the road and got my nails done, they look just as good and I didn't leave bleeding or with sore cuticles. I should have left here 5 years ago. They even have my number but didn't bother to reach out to me about me walking out. read more

If I could put a zero stars I would, I got matte black stiletto nails and I had an older woman do them, every think was going well (other than her drilling my skin every other minute), she glued them on and started shaping them and my middle finger was WONKY, on one side it literally had waves! She applied the black dip and some of them have bumps and at the cuticle it's not filled out correctly (like chunks are missing), most of my nails are leaned to the left or the right and it was SO STREAKY especially under the light, it didn't look to bad inside so I paid and it asked outside and then the streakynees really showed and it looked so bad so I went back in and went to the manager and he said he would fix it he took the top coat off and re put it on, didn't fix the problem, but made it look not as noticeable, I went to wash my hands and started looking at my nails and he asked me what was wrong, I said just one minute I'm looking and he responded you know there not going to be perfect and laughed, i just got tired of it and left. Tried to go today, just to see if they did gift certificates, and if so, to buy one, but instead I was completely ignored. I figured it would be busy, since it is Saturday, and so close to Christmas. I walked in behind a small group. The owner got up, talked to them, told them to pick out polish, got them settled in the pedicure chairs. Got another few people that were already in there settled, too. This whole time I'm standing patiently by the podium. Two new women walk in the the door, and he actually walked around me to great them and ask what they needed. I turned around and walked out the door. I had been there before a few times, not very frequently (maybe once or twice a year). I had previously always received good service, and I always tip well. So I don't know what the problem was this time, but I will never be back. read more

Came here with my niece to get our nails done... first they can't even match the color to their color they have on their boards... so we ended up with WAY the wrong color. The man was in such a rush after a little of him doing it he gets up and someone else starts where he stopped on my nails. They didn't trim my real nails that were pretty long they didn't even get my cuticles they just cut me where I was bleeding in 3 places. My nails looked like crap the day of... but I'm the type to not say much. After having them for a week they've pretty much all broke in half on their own. They completely ruined my real nails underneath. DO NOT. Go here!! Especially with Covid. There's ZERO Social distancing and I never once saw anyone wiping/sanitizing things! Do not go here unless you ask for Lisa. She is the only qualified person who works here. I just spent $65 on a gel manicure and pedicure less than 24 hours ago and the polish on my toes already smudged off and the nail tech didn't even file my toes. I had to ask her to do that. Doesn't even deserve a 1 Star. I made an appointment. I get here early and they began taking walk ins that came in after me ahead of myself. This is unacceptable and very poor customer service.
