Leading with the strengths-- the name is $7 haircuts and they do only charge $7- plus $5 for David's beard. The pricing is upfront and transparent and that's great. Negative from me: they did not do what I asked and there was a language barrier that prevented me from being able to stop the cut and redirect. When they started badgering me with "is okay?" I said no and they argued with me that she had not taken very much off. It's my hair and you guys violated my trust. I wanted a quarter inch trim and instead now I have ugly short hair. I had explained that my hair is wavy and had only just grown out enough to lay straight -- I only wanted a very slight trim. Honestly, I feel and look so bad. But David was happy with his service. I can't recommend them for women. I'm ugly and angry. My only solace is "it will grow out." read more

This is my local quick hair cut place. Yes it's $5.00. It reminds me of those other quick haircut franchise places, but they offer more here. It's recommended to wash your hair first as they only dampen your hair with a spray water bottle. It gets super busy during the weekends so I would recommend coming earlier or during the week. They are bilingual and the owners and staff are very friendly. Not only do they offer haircuts, but full services from mani/pedi, waxing, perms, facial, hair coloring etc. But ask how much first as those are NOT $5.00!! It wasn't busy when I came here on a Monday morning. If you have a style they can accommodate but I was here for a trim, those darn split ends. I also got my eyebrows threaded here as well, yes it's also $5.00. But you might have to wait as I think one person knows how to do it. If you have baby hairs in front like me, then bring a headband with to make it easier for them to thread your brows. They don't trim with scissors or put lotion on your brows afterwards for a mini massage. Basically you get what you paid for, your in, out, and done. This is one of the worst place to ever get your eyebrows done. First off, I had to wait for over 45 minutes and they kept taking customers that came after me. After I complained about it, they said that because I wanted threading which I didn't I always go for waxing because I am allergic to thread, I should wait. Then once I got my turn, I told the lady just to shape them up. She literally cut my eyebrow thickness to half. I came out looking like I had tadpoles instead of my eyebrows. I was literally in tears when I saw my eyebrows. I had a really nice thick eyebrows and the lady blamed me saying you don't want thread so that's what is going to happen honey. Parking is interesting... Its on a driveway parallel to the shop... You would have to reverse your car out onto busy Addison ave to get out. The decor is somewhat old here... The inside reminds me off an old laundromat. This place has about 10 cutting stations and when I got here, there were 4 employees. When I came in, it wasn't too busy. There were a few customers ahead of me and I didn't have to wait more than 10-minutes. My haircut was no-frills easy, and the lady seemed to get it done right. I'm giving stars based on value and convenience. I was in and out of there in about 20 mins. However, I wasn't offered to have my hair shampooed prior to cut (it had yesterday's product in it) which is disappointing because that's one thing people look forward to when they go to get a hair cut. All the stylist did was spray, brush and cut. No fuss & quick. But I left feeling identical to how I arrived, if not worse because my hair was now frizzy (I have naturally curly frizzy hair) and wasn't offered styling tips or products. So I put my hair back in the same bun I came in. I really wanted my ends trimmed and would have washed my hair prior if I had known I wouldn't have even been asked. Needless to say, I got exactly what I went for a quick end trim. I will have to straighten my hair to make sure it's even. On the bright side this salon had a salon feel not like the sweat shop feel I've gotten from other $5 haircut locations. For $5 I almost feel like I shouldn't complain, but I would've paid the extra money to have had extra care or even been offered. read more

Ornela gave me a beautiful haircut that made me look and feel 30 years younger (it happens when someone cuts out my grey hairs). She gave me a beautiful fade. There are a bunch of women cutting hair and these Latinas are top notch. Yes the haircuts are only $5. This is probably the most ratchet place I've ever been to. Granted, I didn't expect something off of 5th Avenue, but this place is truly the representation of "you get what you pay for". My mom once went in to get her face waxed and they BURNED her. Like actual, scabs and everything. The wax was waaaay too hot and the lady STILL expected a tip. It was horrible and I honestly do not think these people are licensed. Also, my neighbor went in for a mani/pedi one time and the nail polish was clumpy and they did a really bad job. I think the products they used were really old and they looked like they didn't know what they were doing. I once got a haircut here and it came out crooked. If I could give this place no stars I would. Went here for my little boys haircut and she butchered him. Started off going the right length with the scissor in the front of his head, then she totally did not know what she was doing in the back of his head. So she took out shaver and shaved him to almost bald. Then she took the guard off the shaver to trim his neck and shaved a huge bald spot in the back of his head. I was devastated. She didn't even apologize. She just blamed it on my son. She even had the balls to make me pay for this crappy job. read more
