Absolutely shocking customer service and policy on cancellation due to illness. I was hospitalised due to serious health and only discharged a few days before my course was due to start. I called customer service who told me I would not be able to receive a refund or reschedule my course unless I provided a doctors note. I did so immediately but was then told I had to provide a doctors not that specifically said I was unfit to drive. All these processes I had to go through were not in the terms and conditions. I also provided this immediately. I spoke to various members of the unsympathetic and blunt customer service team who told me contradicting things. I finally got my case sent to management who replied with the same copy and pasted response I had received before. When I asked about making a complaint I was directed back to the blunt unsympathetic customer service team that my poor experience began with. Do not use this company, they are appalling. read more

This driving school on the outskirts of the city centre specialises in intensive driving courses, with the aim of getting everyone through their practical and theory tests in just one week. Whether you are taking your first test or your twenty first test, 5 day will try and match you up with the best instructor to suit your needs, with a choice of manual or automatic cars. Their requirement is that you have had some basic experience in a car prior to attending the course, to have a feel for clutch control etc, although no great experience is necessary. Tuition for the theory test is also provided for those who have not yet taken this, with classroom lessons and computers available to practice sample questions on as many times as is needed. People come from all over the country to use this driving school, indeed from all over the world. Accommodation can be found cheaply nearby for those who are not local. The courses are not cheap, but when you consider the amount of tuition you are getting in a very short space of time, they are worth it for those that need a quick test. read more

their website is a con i paid for my wife but they not willing to talk to me now martin will find excusse for everything well she failed first time and since then they left her hanging dry yes corrective lesson was done after she failed but she still not ready to go to another test then why they just did one hour cerrction lesson if that false promeses con school just after the cash i would stay clear from them not happy whatsoever with how they treated me the one teacher slagging of their collegue shows me how serious they are so according to one teacher my wife was told by not so very good teacher because other teachers were on holidays and very busy lets see what martin has to say dont get fooled by their empty promises in their website is a tottal lie read more

Customer Services Mocked me on top of not dealing with my complaint or even helping my issue. I would not recommend 5Day, ever. My driving instructor was slow, taught me to coast round corners even after I explained it felt unsafe and have been assured since then you should not coast around corners. He told me I was not ready for my test at the end of the week and I was not offered any support afterwards. The people in the centre were nice and helpful but there was only so much they could do. I called Customer services, emailed them and they stopped replying. I called again and spoke to their 'manager' how he managed to get that job I am not entirely sure but all he did was laugh at my complaint, mock me and did not sort my problem or fully answer any of my enquires... I had to eventually hang up after he was just laughing me off and I got too angry to have to deal with him. I'm so so disappointed with this whole service. Not worth nearly a grand, get a teacher or go with another company. read more

Just in the last 2 weeks we paid for a course in Sale - Dane road through this company. My son turned up for his test at the time given to him by an email, but no car was there to take the test in, due to a mis- communication. The staff at the phone number given namely a Peter Francis was unhelpful, offered no resolution of the problem, refused to give out information to make a complaint, he even refused to give me the name of the director of the company! No alternative has been given, the phone was slammed down on us and the Customer services is non existant, I asked for the address and was told to look on the internet, although they did give me another address eventually when i called back. I have asked for copies of emails they sent to my son - they say they can't find them. We paid over £900 and my son still hasnt taken his test, which would count as a fail and they should be obliged to offer another test with lessons until he passes as they advertise. WORST EXPERIENCE & WASTE OF MONEY!! I USED 5DAY NORWICH IN THE SUMMER AND STILL HAVE NOT PASSED MY DRIVING TEST. They do not teach you all you need to know to drive, but only the bare minimum you need to pass (if you ever pass), they are lazy and do not care about your personal needs. My driving instructor Alison was SO RUDE and intimidating telling me 'why would I ask such a stupid question' or 'We don't have time to do that just Youtube it' obviously lacking people skills, her car was dirty and she would leave our daily sessions early for her social arrangements. She could never give me lessons in her own time out of 5 day even leading up to my test because she was busy and basically did not give a shi** about me just that I was giving her guaranteed income. A whole 900 quid flushed down the toilet. They say that they can guarantee a pass in 5 days if not they'll keep training you, while the truth is you'll only get taught on the particular mistake you made within the test and that's it. Of course that's only if they even bother getting back to you, in my case my 5 days ended,and that was the last I ever heard of them. A first time driver cannot pass in 5 days, definitely not in a manual vehicle and I wish they had told me from the start rather than convince me that it is possible and take my money and scurry off. For anyone looking to book a crash course with them don't, there are many other more reliable and honest courses out there. My brother did a 2 week crash course for 200£ cheaper and passed. During my course I met others who had finished but had been paying for more lessons as they were not confident to take the test after the 5 days, so the course can easily cost more than the 900 for many. read more

i attended the course in june 2014 and i was a complete beginner and the course was enough for me because i did so much driving in the 4 hours. Its very clear when i booked that the test cost you pay after you pass the theory and the car hire was free for me but i don't know if it always has been. I failed 4 theories before coming and the in class training is very helpful and up to date and i made a good matey as well! its not an easy course you need to eat sleep driven for 5 days and the test is few days later thumbs up read more
