It is with deep regret that I am…read morewriting this review, but a recent shift to an aggressive tiered pricing strategy has forced me to find a new HVAC technician. On 4.21.26 a coil failed on my 4 ton (est.) Goodman AC. Joe presented a tiered verbal quote for a coil replacement from his tablet. This ranged from $10K to $4K. The bill as provided was: HL5A - BAND-AID - Heat Transfer Media Coil System Rejuvenation. Job #201994583. Total cost: $4195. This came with a 30 day warranty. No part number referenced. On 8.10.26 the other AC unit stopped working. This is a 3.5 ton (est) Carrier unit Joe installed almost 10 years ago. This was job# 201994682. This was still under a full manufacturer parts warranty. Joe charged $129.95 for the visit and $600 to isolate the leak. Joe offered to waive these charges if I authorized the repair immediately. The verbal tiered quote was offered to us again this time starting at $11900 for the top tier repair with a bottom quote of $5500 (band aid). There was no reference that there would be no charge for the hardware and this was only for labor and refrigerant given the warranty. The quotes from top tier to bottom tier appeared to be out of line. Because I declined to agree immediately, the $729 charge was billed. I brought in an independent HVAC technician for an opinion. He confirmed the issue and charged $1550 for labor and refrigerant and replaced the coil. I've cancelled my warranty plan and will not use this company again.

Unfortunately, the issue was a defective coil and, although it was covered by my warranty (I replaced the unit in 2017), it was still a bit of a pricey fix and took over a month because the part had to be manufactured. Keiley was super helpful and kept me updated throughout the process, and I decided to get a preventative maintenance agreement for twice a year service because I didn't want anything like this to happen again. We have had several service visits, including one to our new house right after we moved. I believe the technician Javier has come to every one of the visits, and he is extremely professional and really goes above and beyond. There was an issue right after we moved in (because I installed the thermostat - badly) and even though I believe it was slightly out of the scope of his job, Javier took the time to help me fix my mistakes.

I have used this company a couple times with positive results when my air conditioner won't cool…read morethe house to the set temperature. When the tech showed up i explained the situation. He immediately started telling me that he won't try and sell me a new unit, but will try to sell me something (monthly plan) later. As he opened my a/c he began rambling about the components of the fan and other weird things that wasn't getting us closer to a diagnosis. Then his phone died. I brought out a charger. He then tells me he doesn't do a/c repairs but does installation. After a half hour of this, I kept asking what he was going to do. He kept telling me I had to tell him what to do. I responded that I am not the tech. Once the phone was charged he called his supervisor. They were on the phone for a while. The tech then has me listen in on the call but without speakerphone but brought the phone ear to ear. The person on the other end of the phone was saying that when it's hot outside the a/c won't cool accurately? That's nonsense. The tech then sits on the floor of the garage to scroll through things he might do and what it would cost. This took another half hour with us out in 90degree heat. He then calls someone else to complain that he wasn't trained on billing and using whatever app he was using. At this point I was getting frustrated. He shows me a cost to pull everything out of the unit To clean at a cost of around $400. I asked if that would fix it and he again said I had to tell him what to do. At this point I lost faith that this guy could fix anything and asked for the bill and call it quits. He then disappeared. I think he wandered off behind the house somewhere. I couldn't find him. I took all his stuff out of the garage to try and get him out as fast as possible. He kept rambling under his breath. I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or himself. It turned out he was talking to me. This person was so weird I just wanted him to go. I wasn't going to complain until he said something aggressive to me as I was paying. I waited for him to leave as he sat in the truck for 15 more minutes. I called the company and explained what had happened. My wife got a call asking how the service was. She asked the person to call me. We never heard back. I paid $70 for the weirdest two hour encounter I have ever had. He arrived at 10 and didn't leave until 12pm. Two hours wasted and my a/c is still not functioning as it should.
