D-U-M-P!!! Pass this hole in the wall if at possible. They haven't painted anything since the Nixon administration. The exterior is falling apart. The interior is a hot cramped mess. Oh and the staff, just working for Friday's beer money.

We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn in Newberry, SC, and overall it was a good stay that met our…read moreneeds. The hotel is nice and appears to be updated. The fitness center was clean and well organized, and the pool and hot tub looked inviting, although we arrived too late to use them since they were already closed. Breakfast was surprisingly better than what we've come to expect at most Holiday Inns, which was a nice bonus. Our room was mostly clean and comfortable. A couple of things stood out, though: there was hair from a previous guest on the shower wall, and one of the couch cushions had quite a few stains on the underside. Also, the TV wasn't centered with the beds, which seemed like an odd design choice but wasn't a major issue. The elevators were a little questionable during our stay, and one was actually taken out of service just as we were leaving. The real standout of this hotel was the front desk associate working when we arrived around 10:30 p.m. She was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She let us know that if we needed bedding for the pull-out sofa, all we had to do was call, and she would bring it up--which she did promptly with a smile. Even though it was late, she remained cheerful and seemed happy to help. We stay in hotels fairly often, and it's refreshing to encounter someone who provides that level of customer service, especially compared to the more routine overnight staff we often come across. I wish I remembered her name because she definitely deserves recognition. Overall, for a quick overnight stay or even a few nights, this Holiday Inn serves its purpose well. It's a solid option with a great staff, good breakfast, and mostly comfortable accommodations.

Would not recommend. Paid for 4 days & 3 nights, Stayed 2 days & 3 nights, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was disappointing. Our first room had a bedspread with unknown brown streaks on it. Jessica at the front desk was helpful enough to move us to another room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the new room had an AC unit that was not functioning properly. Housekeeping stated that they would not be able to issue additional towels to me because of the number of people in the room. We didn't want to escalate the issues to Jessica again, but in hindsight, we probably should have. I've included photos of the "ready room," where the bed appeared to have been very quickly pieced together rather than properly prepared for a new guest. Jessica acknowledged "you should have clean sheets when checking into a hotel." Hot breakfast is available 7-10am, basic spread but the Hotel staff were lining up at 10am to also enjoy, which is great but I'd still prefer the details in rooms be addressed. To make matters worse, our original travel plans were unexpectedly cancelled, resulting in us being unable to utilize one of the days we had already paid for. I contacted the hotel and kindly requested a refund for that single unused day. Jessica flatly denied the request, despite the fact that we had only stayed from Friday 9pm to Monday 2am and were only asking for consideration for the one day we were unable to use due to circumstances outside of our control. I understand hotels have policies, but there should also be some level of customer service and compassion when unexpected travel disruptions occur. Between the room cleanliness/condition issues, the AC problem, and the refusal to accommodate a reasonable request, this was unfortunately not the experience we expected.

The lobby is very clean and appealing. The friendly lady at check in told me all about their breakfast that was included in my stay. I checked in and was impressed with the lighting and the colors. It looked very modern. I believe it was remodeled a year or two ago. I do wish they had a glass shower door rather than a shower curtain!! But it was still a very clean bathroom. I really don't love staying in hotels, no matter how many stars they have. But, to travel, it is a necessity. I peaked at the breakfast buffet and was not impressed. (I don't really eat breakfast, but this still did not look great) I took one bite of a potato wedge and two bites of a blueberry muffin and that was enough for me. I would say that is the only negative of this hotel. The breakfast was not ample and it was just...........very meat heavy with egg choices. They do have an upscale coffee, tea, espresso, hot chocolate machine, etc. Now, I did get two cups of hot chocolate. They were very tasty. I would definitely stay here again.

I was more than a little irritated with my stay. The big let down was the room cleaning, actually…read morethe lack of room cleaning. When I checked in, I was asked my preference for cleaning, I was offered daily, every other day or not at all. I said every other. Well, my cleaning day came and I left the hotel at 7am to go to a local conference & didn't return until 7pm & there was a do not disturb hanger on the outside of my door. My first thought- am i at the right room? My second thought, did they actually hang a tag to get out of cleaning my room??? I was at the right room. And guess what?!? My do not disturb was still hanging in the inside of the door, the one in the outside did not belong to my room at all! I'm thinking housekeeping has a little game they play. I took the tag downstairs & talked to the young man at the desk. First asked for him to now that my room be cleaned the next day, explained the door tag and gave it to him. He didn't get it, he made notes- but at the end of the conversation he tried to give me back the tag. No. My room has one & I did not use it today. Someone else put that on my door and my room did not get cleaned. Next day, I ran back to the room to grab lunch and housekeeping hadn't cleaned my room yet, but they were 2 doors down. I left, explored the area, came back late at 8pm. Room. Still. Not. Cleaned. I'm livid. I check out the next morning and was asked, did you enjoy your stay? Well no I did not. I explained again to a different young man and he understood and jumped to the same conclusion as me, housekeeping trying to get out of work, apologized profusely & said he would speak to management about it. My other issues: No waffle batter any of the days I was there. No sign, no explanation, just syrup & waffle makers taunting guests Coffee choices were only light roast or decaf. No, absolutely not. Where's my medium roast or dark roast? The bathroom in my room- the caulking was falling, torn, disgusting & the light fixture had mildew inside the globe. Yes, waffle batter was a thorn. I have a food allergy that I avoid the buffet always because of potential cross contamination. For a fully booked hotel, you'd think they would have everything available for breakfast. Or at least take away the waffle makers and stuff so we aren't baffled why there are cups to put batter in, but no batter. Room 305, stay was March 5-9th. I expected one cleaning. 2 stars for the lovely young woman who checked me in and the lovely gentleman who checked me out. I wish I had paid attention to their names.

I was in a 3rd floor room, but can't recall if 304 or whatever. I know 306 was beside me as it was occupied by a male businessman. Then, when I get to the room, it was initially nice, but the bathroom had serious issues! See pics. Mold, loose fixtures, no functioning exhaust fan to pull excess moisture/humidity. I stayed here because after the show, I didn't want to drive home late, in the dark. Next evening event, I wil have to reconsider my lodging options or ask to see the room & bathroom first before checking in.

I had a waffle and fruit both mornings, with orange juice and coffee. Please note: -There was no safe in the room. -Smokers chained smoke on the bench 6 feet from the entrance. -No double sink All in all. We enjoyed our two-night stay. It is 20 minutes from Fort Jackson. It has plenty of parking, is clean, is near the interstate, has well-rated dining options, and is across from "5 Star Car Wash"- if you have a 5 Star membership, the wash is free. They don't have an EV charging station on site but there's one on the next exit up at the Walmart. This was a great place for my pet and I to rest our head. They also have a station with dog bags and a place for you to discard of dog poop. That was very convenient. I didn't stay here long. It was just an overnight but I also appreciate the free breakfast in the morning to get me on my way. They had sausage eggs. Of course. Plenty of juices and coffee, fruits and vegetables and muffins. The band was very comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot. I also appreciate the fact that I was able to change the nozzle on the shower head to different patterns and strengths.
