Dave was awesome, he was ready to roll soon as I walked in, after I did the usually paperwork we got to work. The shop has a great vibe, everyone one was friendly and the shop is very open and mellow. Dave did a great job, we had a nice conversation while he worked on my piece. Before I knew it we were done and I was out of there. I want to thank the crew there for being professional and having such a great environment for getting a quick tattoo, and thanks again Dave for doing such a good job on my new ink. From my very first time there to make my appointment, I was impressed by what I saw and experienced. First and foremost, the studio is clean and organized.. BIG deal. Amy is super cool and friendly, and she literally may be the easiest person to work with. I had to cancel my original appointment and reschedule it for a later time, and she was nothing but understanding and nice about it. They do require a small deposit when you book an appointment, but they're really flexible about it. The day of my appointment, Amy opened the shop early to do my tattoo, which was super cool of her. She took time before hand to perfect my idea and make sure it was exactly what I wanted, and really helped ease my nerves as we stood there and talked.. she's got a great personality! More importantly though, shes a fantastic artist! My tattoo was simple and quick, but I chose her and her studio because I had seen her work online and was really impressed with her stuff, so I knew that even with something as simple as mine, she'd nail it, and she did. When you walk in the door, you are greated by Pittsburgh punk legend Dave Trenga. Dave is always so gracious, welcoming, and friendly. I always feel appreciated and welcomed by the entire staff. I go to the Bodyworks to see Steve Morris, who specializes in photorealistic tattoos. His work is truly amazing, and he is such a nice guy. I also utilize the laser tattoo removal services of Wes South. I didn't think it was possible to have a tattoo removed, and have It be so affordable. All the artists work in conjunction with Wes to help you be rid of that tattoo you don't want any longer. My overall impression of the Bodyworks, is overwhelmingly positive. I reached…read moreout to Tre via Instagram and the first thing he said was that surprise tattoos usually don't go over so well, which makes sense. However, it was a tattoo my dad had been wanting for years and had asked me to find him an artist for years. So he knew about it, just not that I found an artist and was going to pay for it. On my dad's birthday I told him the surprise and the day before the tattoo appointment my dad called me... to cancel. He had gotten sick. I messaged Tre as soon as I could but I knew with the late notice and my first time to this artist I would lose my deposit. I asked Tre if I could take the appointment in exchange so I wouldn't lose the deposit and Tre would still make a paycheck roughly the same amount my dad's tattoo would have been. We worked together to find an idea and the next time I showed up for my impromptu tattoo appointment. I had never been to Tre before so I had to fill out some typical forms and then we started shortly after. His stencils were perfect in size and we hard had to wait before he began tattooing. Tre was very informative and explained everything very well even though I already have tattoos which I appreciated and respected. He warned me tattoos on the back of my thighs is a rough spot but I sat as well as I could. He was professional and friendly. I had brought a book to read but Tre and I ended up chatting all 4-5 hours the tattoo went on for. We took a few 5-15 minute breaks and Tre even bought us sushi near the end. He charges pretty steep for his art but the tattoos are worth it. He gave me aftercare and I will 100% be returning. Side note: the shop is also pretty cool with snacks and drinks free to all and artwork available to buy. There are many artists in the shop and many different styles to choose from. Thank you Tre!

As she was doing the tat I started to swell(never happened before) the owner advised her to stop the tat for a week. Upon returning the tat had no color was scabbing gin away I never experienced. Don't even look like the same artist did it. (guess that's what he is). Now I'm in the process of removal and found someone that is actually proud of the work they do that is going to fix it.
