POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE! We purchased a vehicle from Chris at 411Careline and thought we purchased a very clean, low mile reliable vehicle. Prior to purchase, Chris was very kind and non-pushy, which I appreciated. After test driving the vehicle we decided to purchase. After purchase we brought the vehicle to the Ford dealership for an oil change, it was then when we were made aware the car had multiple pending safety recalls - one recall was to prevent the car from starting on fire! These recalls were pending for over 3 years! We made the appointment to get the recall completed and during the appointment we were made aware that the recall was taking longer than normal because the car had a junkyard motor in it! Furthermore, the dealership gave us a list of items that were wrong due to the replacement engine being installed improperly. The dealership advised us that we would need to pay out of pocket to get the car back as the tech needed to fix issues before they could complete the recall safely. Here is a list of items the dealership noted wrong: * Found studs for exhaust mount to transmission missing * Transmission mount rubs on transfer case * Found starter shimmed away from transmission * Exhaust heat shield on body near sub frame loose * Transmission cooler tube bent and rubbing on trans case * Vehicle has junkyard motor installed (noted by all paint markings on engine) * Would require several more hours of tech time to piece together car and find all missing / wrong items This was 1 week after we took delivery of the car. I was shocked and felt taken advantage of. I immediately called Chris to notify him of my findings and told him we would like to return the car and was surprised when he told me he would have to contact an attorney to see "how to handle this". Chris told us multiple times they have their cars inspected by 3rd party mechanics prior to them listing for sale and swore all their cars are clean. Come to find out they pay a mechanic $30 to drive it around the block to make sure it is not leaking fluids and the brakes work. Chris told me he would get back to me, never once apologized or asked detailed questions about the dealership's findings - I knew we made a mistake at this point. It took Chris a week to get back to us, he then sent a long email telling us they will not take the car back as the laws in MN do not require them to do so. They do ask if you want a 3rd party mechanic to look over the car, at the buyers expense, but I felt comfortable buying from them and the fact they had it inspected before they sold it was good enough for us. What a mistake! I would suggest you skip this dealership as they clearly take on cars that have issues or have had issues in the past and are unwilling to make things right if they find out otherwise. Right now, we have a vehicle that has a motor with unknown miles and lots of issues that need to be fixed. If anyone is interested in more details, I am happy to provide documentation. read more

Wow. The other review is really surprising! Maybe something drastically changed in last 3 years because my experience was great, and my car is awesome! It was exactly the experience I was looking for. It's a small family business and Chris, the owner's son, was very straightforward, patient, and knowledgable. I was really getting sick of checking out cars at the big companies (Luther, Lupient, Morries, etc), with fake/rude/aloof sales people going through the motions, not really listening, and trying to sell me on cars I wasn't interested in. Worst of all, they often knew less about the cars than I did! Despicable! Not my experience at 411 Carline. I am a very careful and picky buyer and Chris was very patient with me, answering all of my questions, addressing my concerns and putting no pressure on me to buy at any time. He was also very knowledgable! He was able to answer any question I had about the car (all the buttons, switches, sounds). Honestly, that's one of the main reasons I bought from 411carline. I could tell they had my best interest in mind and weren't just trying to get my money. (He even told me straight up "we just want people to get the car they want, even if it's not from us"). I test drove the car about 5 times before I bought it. I was a bit embarrassed to drive it so many times without making a decision, but I still got no pressure from Chris to buy. He let me take my time in the buying process and even encouraged me to "sleep on it" when I said "I'm pretty sure I want to buy this car...". He even said he'd call me if anyone else was interested to give me first dibs! Pretty cool. Just to make sure I wasn't getting smooth talked (because I'm always skeptical) I had the car checked by an outside mechanic. They essentially reflected everything back that Chris had told me about the car. The only thing they found was a bit of rust on the rotors. When I told Chris, he took $200 off the cost of the car. He even offered to have them replaced at a reduced price by one of his resources. I went for the $200 off and finally settled on an awesome 2005 Volvo v50. It drives like a dream and looks great. Very professional family owned/run business. They have third party Mx and inspections done on all their vehicles and definitely tell potential buyers to schedule a pre-buy inspection with the mechanic of their choice. They bought my car at a very fair price and sold me a solid car with no undisclosed issues. I purschaed a 2006 Subaru wrx Sti, Chris at the time i was inspecting the car was helpful and now that i look back, he tells you everything you want to hear. He gave me a list of things that had been serviced on the car inculding the most important which was a new performance clutch. They had a shop install it and he quoted he drive it for 500 miles with it installed. I purchased the car and within less than me putting 200 miles on the car. On the fourth day of owning this car, it would make a terrible grinding sound. I brought it to a very reputable shop and the took the starter out and sure to find out that the flywheel teeth are all chewed up and now needs to be replaced. The shop quoted me to fix it and it would be roughly $1,100. I called Chris and asked if we could working something out. Because there should be no reason i should have this issue on the 4th day. Chris responds to me "it's a used car" "that kind of stuff happens" and i explained that the shop he had install the clutch did not put everything back correctly or the bolts were not torqued to factory spec. read more

411 CARLINE IS WORTH 0 STARS! The owners tell you what you want to hear and boast a CarFax report although the local garage that 411 Carline has service their vehicles can't seem to find mechanical issues that would always make the consumer RUN the other way "if" reported on the CarFax report. (Example: brake work was done on the car, but the park brake mechanism was frozen on the calipers, NOTHING ON CARFAX & "I" had to fix right away) Hmmm. 411 Carline advertised a 1 year warranty online for the vehicle I bought which is a huge reason I drove 90 miles, so I didn't hesitate with the purchase. I took it for a ride in the residential areas and it seemed fine. After the purchase, I found the keyless entry didn't work, the car ran out of oil on the way home, parking brake didn't work, the car shook all the way home, tires were so low, the (leak constantly) air pressure didn't even show up on a gage for one tire. I noticed the keyless entry didn't work 5 minutes after the purchase and the owner said, "re-teach it with a new battery, my brother said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle" (SURPRISE, didn't work). After the mechanical issues kept building with the "CHECK ENGINE" light and other issues, I emailed the same owner and he emailed back that the business isn't doing well so he can't help me. I emailed this owner many times, & I have proof of many claims from him indicating one thing, but in other emails he indicates the opposite. The emails from this owner, would be very interesting to ANY consumer OR previous buyer, of 411 Carline. Anyway, the car burns 1 quart of oil every 200 miles and the owner said his brother drove the car for 600 miles prior to the sale. If that's true, the "low engine" light would have alerted them as it did me although they claim it burned NO oil. So, the car burns 1 quart of oil every 200 miles for me but nothing for 411 Carline? Hmmmm, interesting. There are THOUSANDS (engine replacement alone is over $6000 and I paid $8000 for the car, the rest of the repairs will total the car) OF DOLLARS in REPAIRS, the "check engine" light comes on a few days after I buy it and the local garage can't find ANY of these issues. WHERE'S THE CARFAX?!! Hmmm, well he did tell me his Dad worked for Carfax, maybe that's the problem. I later tried to use the 1 year warranty only to find out this warranty will cover NOTHING. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY! GO TO A PRIVATE OWNER, PAY LESS, AND TAKE THE SAME CHANCE! I purchased a 2002 Mercedes Benz CL 600 with only 56K miles on it. The car was prepped, undercarrige wash, & detailed nicely. I purchased it for $15,900 with a trade in. The next day oil was leaking from the car, it was over 3 liters in my garage-allthe way to my drive-way after day1. Day 2, I lost another 3 liters, day three another...By the time I got to 411Cars the next business day for a plea for repair, records, for a refund etc.I had spent over $500 in oil, $125 kitty litter & stop leak products, ruined garage stall, ruined carpet and clothing, possible city fines due to disposal of oil fee, repaving my driveway, missed days of work, several inspections to compare costs to repair, dozens of phone calls, to 411carsline, Mercedes Benz and the Carfax list, 2nd and third opinions, and dings on my credit not to mention my attached garge and my entire house smells like a smoky drag racing pit! -trying to comprehend why the estimate to fix the vehicle was almost 12K. The duo at 411Carline acted as though they knew nothing of the maintaince issues. Wayne and Jacob reminded me that I purchased the car as is and there is nothing Icould do about it. Buyers beware, Jacob and Wayne did not and will not disclose any information about the cars that they purchase and will not stand by thier customer satisfaction clause or assist in anyway to remedy the situation. From Carfax I found out the last dealership who had the car, confirmed that the issues were disclosed. I am aware that I've been scammed and I am making sure that people who read this will learn from my costly mistake. In conclusion, this particular case the 411Carline car's wholesale price was approximatly $7,500 for the car I purchased it for $15, 900. the Repairs cost $12K+. Wayne and Jacob said, "there's nothing we could do about it and there's nothing that you could do about it, so what are you going to do?, good luck."
