My wife and I have been going here over 6 years. The hours and location are convenient, and the prices are very reasonable. Like any place, most of the technicians are better than the few that aren't. And the ones that aren't good, don't seem to stick around. I get the occasional side eye from my wife when I get the person we both really wanted (33 years of marriage and no, I'm not giving up my favorite technician - my feet matter too!) I only get pedicures, so I can't speak to the other services they offer. Out of the many services I've had, I never had one that made me want to stop coming back. 3 stars because the service is great. The workers are very nice, but the tools they use on your feet are not clean. They are always reusing the same dirty tools. I never see them disinfect anything. They just rinse them in the same dirty water that your feet are soaked in and put the tools back into their toolbox. It is very unsanitary and a huge risk for infection. BUT I've had the pleasure of experiencing better service, cleaner shops, and professional technicians in a nail salon across the bridge or Waldorf. I can not understand how this place gets so many good reviews. They've never updated the shop and they rush your nails and pedicure. I received a full set last Friday by a lady in the first chair (she had a glove on from an injury). Due to me rushing out for an engagement, I realized the next day my nails were not straight, the paint job was bad, and FIVE nails weren't glued down properly. Message to Jennifer--the owner/manager: Social media can make or break your business. Had you actually addressed the concerns raised by the reviewers instead of so rudely attacking each person who gave a factually accurate, if subjective, review of your business, you'd be in better shape. I bet that you wondered why your walk-ins were down, got scared and desperate because business was low and THEN started googling yourself to see what was going on. Then? I'm shocked that this place has such great reviews. I have been twice now out of convenience and both times have been awful. The first time, I was getting my SNS redone. I gave the color I wanted, I was particular about how thin I wanted the coats to be, etc. The staff member wanted to do whatever they wanted and started doing something completely different. Not cool. I had them remove it and it was good enough. This time around, I wanted my SNS removed and just a manicure. Instead of starting with a soak off, the staff member attempted to lift the SNS off with a nail tip, which could have damaged my nail bed. It was very painful and I asked him to stop. He tried again on another nail before I pulled away. The soak off began, which takes a while. Remember that manicure I asked for? Warm water? Care taken to each nail? It never happened. He took my hand out of the acetone water, got the rest of the SNS off and just cleaned up my nails from there. It was the laziest nail salon experience I've ever had. Their nail polish selection is also poor. I won't return. read more

After only a week, my gel manicure has started chipping. The guy who did my manicure rushed through it and left gel all over my fingers.

I've been coming here for the past year. Most days are good and the service is good. When they take too many customers at once that's when you will wait for some time which also means your service is a little rushed in order to get through everyone. I usually get a pedicure with a fill. I am not allowed to have long eccentric nails for work, so my request is fairly simple for them. If I could, I would test them out to see if they can deliver. I went on a Monday and was serviced by Jason. My family members had visited a week before and said they had done a good job on their nails. They couldn't remember who did their nails so I looked on Yelp and saw Jason had done consistently good work. I called right at 10 and was told Jason wasn't in until the afternoon. They took my number and Jason called me back once he arrived in the salon. I did have a previous SNS set on when I arrived and Jason was still working on another client. They completely soaked off the sns which was a plus. I also got a gel pedicure. $79 for everything wasn't too bad. They don't have their prices posted so you should ask before they begin if you have a budget. read more

Some of the technicians, there are really good while others are subpar. I really hate it when someone cuts corners on a service when I'm there for relaxing experience. The gentleman who did my pedicure did an awesome job and I wish that he was the same person who did my nails because there was quite a difference in the quality of work. I intend to go back to find the best technician for me however, I don't think I'll be going back there for eyebrows because the wax was too hot, and it burned the skin around my eyebrows. read more

I had been going to 4 Star Nails for almost a year. During my last visit Jason was incredibly rude and rough. I accidentally smudged a nail and he began to YELL at me. He is usually short and doesn't talk much (which I appreciate because I don't enjoy small talk). However, during my last visit not only did he yell but stated it was my fault that nails were like that and jerked my hand around. I stated that although it was my fault I would appreciate it being fixed. I was there for a manicure and pedicure and requested someone else do it. He turned the heat all the way up and burned my feet even after I said it was too hot. Prior to this incident I was willing to travel over 40 minutes to 4 Star Nails. I do not recommend this place. Limited nail color selection, unsterile tools for manicures and pedicures (I have never seen a new tool pack opened for a pedicure or the tools put in sterilizing fluid in my time there) and rude nail techs. If you must go I would recommend anyone ANYONE except Jason. read more

OK so when I went in there to get my nails done I needed a nail repair I have neon yellow nails I got my nails done at the same nail salon so when I went in and asked for the color like from the color pad that they give you to pick from your color he did not give me the one that I use the last time I came there I had a specific yellow in the color pairs that they had he did not have my yellow so I'm telling this man on color pad that They had is upfront with the yellow I had before and these are not the only colors on the color pad that you have so please stop telling me these are not the only ones because these are not the ones that I picked from when I was previously here last time!! I had great experience today. I walked in to get a full set pedicure and eyebrows done, they did not disappoint. The nail tech that did my full stack was very attentive and shipped my nails to my desire. I absolutely love them. I usually do not get fake nails put on but I love the way they look. I was also satisfied with my pedicure and my eyebrows dot-dot.... This is the only Salon that can actually shape my eyebrows well considering I do not have much to work with. Honestly it isn't the worst place but not the best. The Pros: 1. It is clean 2. Customer service is good 3. Hours and convenience The Cons: 1. Expensive for the service. I got a spa mani and pedi and it was 83 bucks!!! 2. Not the best polish jobs - it is rather hit or miss (as you can read from other reviews). 3. Waxing services - don't do it!!! It is sloppy, they only do one arch and that is too thin, and it seems rushed. 4. They recently changed up the services provided. I was told today their old menu of services are no longer applicable and they have a new menu where you only have three spa pedicures to choose from and only one manicure, not of which includes callus removal. If you need a quick service by all means go but I would recommend going to Waldorf to get better services. read more

So I've been coming to this place for a few time. As you read in my first review that I did. It was great after awhile of coming the customer service just have gone downhill. I wanted to wait before posting this review that's the only reason for me not writing this review sooner. But for today I came in no one said anything. They looked up an I'll just assume thought I was gonna say what service I came in for. So I sat down. No more than a few minutes later a tech walked up with a finished client and that's when she asked me about the service I wanted. I stated the service and I continued to wait. Another person came in after me and someone asked her about the service she wanted. This was before this woman even sat down. So now my mood has changed. A different tech asked me what I was getting and I told this (different tech). A few minutes she asked me to go to the back. Not can you go to such and such place for my pedicure. So I'm standing, waiting for some kind of directions. And I'm waiting and waiting a (different tech) walks up from the front to service someone in the back area but I'm standing in front of the nail area and that's when she says to go to this bowl. I walk over and this (different tech) that's working on someone hands is blocking where I need to get in the seat. So again I'm waiting again for this tech to finish the woman's hands even though this is the area for the pedicures. Couldn't put my shoes in that area because the tech was still taking off polish from the lady hand so I'm holding my shoes. I then put my shoes on the opposite side at the front where the tech that will be doing my feet will be. This has been the worst experience I have had and will not be returning. While I was waiting during this whole ordeal it came to mind that I can do my own nails in my own home so that this experience won't ever happen again. Let me start with I wish they had a rating of horrible because that is the experience I received today. On Feb 12, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am my daughter and I went to this location to receive a manicure and pedicure. I initially asked for the guy who does our nails but he was unavailable at the time. So a female approached us and said I can do manicures now which I said ok. The color I was interested in was a chrome purple which she started she could do. So my teenage daughter looked at the sample colors and stated I want that too. So the Asian lady took the color from her and stated, "You pick gel color". I replied to her, No, she doesn't want to get gel, she wants chrome. She then stated this is 45 dollars. I replied, I don't care how much it is if she wants chrome you give it to her. At that moment we left the location, and said we no longer need your service. My daughter asked as we were leaving why I could not have the color if that's what we asked for. I then had to explainhow African Americans are treated when we go into some of the Asian Nail businesses like this. We are judged by the color of our skin. read more

My manicurist does a beautiful job to give me a custom manicure that I'm sure to get compliments on. I really enjoy the services here, gel and acryllic wraps and fills, beautiful nail designs and the music is soothing too. P.S. It's unisex friendly!!!
