It's not some big corporation with a customer service department or any department, for that matter. His prices are stellar, he has old and hard to find parts available and will work very hard to find the one you might need. Are you used to Fox Chapel or some other fancy-pants marina? Well, then Bill might not be your cup-o-tea. Are you a real Pittsburgher who enjoys a good chat and some blue collar service, then this is absolutely your spot! Bill prepped the prop for me right in front of me and was a heck of a nice guy at a price that was about 2/3 less than everyone else.

The pool is remarkable, they expanded it from a much smaller size, so now it's much better for swimming laps. They have 2 certified life guards and safety seems like a priority. The locker rooms and showers are substantial, and everything is clean and well maintained. The weight room has a nice assortment of machines and free weights, and there's virtually now wait time. They have an impressive program for seniors, they provide coffee during the morning and at noon there is a free cafeteria style meal The staff is friendly and helpful, they have enthusiastic smiles and are always welcoming people. It's a nice community environment and outreach. Parking on the North Side is usually tight, but they have a big parking lot that makes it easy. The location couldn't be better, it's convenient to my house, and restaurants, museums and parks. I like that the organization has continued to grow and evolve over the years. Although they honor their tradition, they have expanded their facility and role in the community.

The staff continues to get worse and more disgusting by the years go by, since all the good people are in quitting. And while I did see a few runners on their own, this park seems to be mostly a dog park. I encountered many friendly owners and enthusiastic dogs while exploring the trails. Some of the trails appeared to be marked but the park itself is not that big and the trails all ended up circling around each other so I had no problem wandering around. It's a very peaceful spot with several benches throughout. The sound of traffic at times can be disruptive though. The park is fenced in from Squaw Run Road and there is a parking lot just across the street. There is a sign that says parking is by permit only but I did not have a permit and could not find any information regarding this. (Maybe it's supposed to be for residents only?) I did also see parking along the road leading to the park but watch for signs because you cannot park on the road just next to the park. I don't know that I would necessarily go out of my way to get back here just for myself. But I would recommend this spot for anyone with a dog looking for a good park to let your canine friend roam around.

The place claims to be sanitary and clean, but there are spots and stains everywhere. To top it off, there's even a guests' dog running around. It's absolutely ridiculous. Some toys are dirty and some toys are broken or incomplete. Some of the barriers are held together by duct tap The worst part is that there are open plugs that are not child-proof. There's even visible exposed cables within reach. Came here since it was close to home, but never again.
