I would say your circumstances are very unusual. All my vendors, family, and guests raved about their interactions with Lisa. My personal interaction is below and My brother recently got engaged and the first thing I said to him was you need to hire Lisa. This is the easiest, most heartfelt, and important review I have ever written. If I am honest, I started writing this review before my wedding because of how important Lisa was to me and I didn't want to miss a thing. Outside of saying yes to my husband, Lisa is the best decision I have ever made and I don't say that lightly. Despite getting pushback on hiring a planner, the minute I met Lisa, I knew I needed her. She's a complete powerhouse. I wanted someone showing up that day focused on my husband and I. The venue has priorities, catering has priorities, our families have priorities and I wanted someone in my corner covering my tracks if I dropped balls, and a sounding board as I navigated a once in a lifetime event. That's scratching the surface of what I got with Lisa. She is all I could have dreamed of plus a million more things! DON'T THINK, JUST BOOK LISA! Lisa is a masterclass on professionalism, kindness, organization, crisis management, and finesse. She keeps it real, highlights things that are important, and things that you can pass on all along with a nonchalant and humorous approach. Separately, we had an especially difficult vendor who brought me to tears on multiple occasions and could have derailed our entire event. If I had been in this alone, I would have been a basket case. Lisa would show up to any adversity in our process with a proactive assess, and say "Don't worry, I got this" and she did. She showed up direct, professional, and continued to tell us "you two are my priority, I don't care about anyone or anything else". To hear that during such a stressful time when you are getting pulled into a million and one different directions, is invaluable. I have tears in my eyes writing this review and thinking about how much comfort, knowledge, solace, support, and invaluable expertise Lisa provided me. I don't know what my day or mental state would have been like without her and thank my lucky stars I had her by my side. A perfect rating doesn't just happen, it requires expertise and commitment to your craft, a strong work ethic, and top notch customer service. That doesn't even begin to cover it with Lisa. She is hardworking (probably too much so, I don't think she has had a day off in years), attentive, accessible, knowledgeable, all along with a sense of humor and easy going, we got this kind of approach. Not to mention, her team!! Lisa was my right hand for planning and the sound of her voice on my wedding day made me burst into tears but HER TEAM, MY GOD!!! Shout out to Kelly, Chelsea and Marcy! Talk about complete ROCKSTARS!! There are no weak links with Lisa's team, they are the smartest, warmest, most boss ladies you'll ever come across. Given her perfect rating, she doesn't need my review and there aren't words to the fully capture the impact she made. I struck gold twice. Once, finding my husband then finding Lisa. We felt that she was pushy, sarcastic, and condescending and did not have our best interests in mind. We also felt that she was inconsistent in responsiveness (sometimes taking a few weeks to reply and other times replying immediately) and while she helped us find a few vendors (photographer, DJ, catering), we had to follow up multiple times over months with her and ultimately ended up finding most vendors ourselves (venue, hair and makeup, videographer, florist). She was also inconsistent in recommending vendors that fit our budget and in helping us establish a realistic budget in the first place, and multiple times complained to family members about our budget being too small, but never mentioned that to us. Additionally, we got the sense that she kept brushing off our smaller wedding for larger events and was not very invested in planning our wedding. We also felt that she was not on our side when we ran into issues with vendors, and that she was not supportive of non-Western wedding traditions. For example, our caterer, who had said they could do a Chinese entree (whole grilled fish) and had scheduled a tasting for us, changed the tasting menu on us last minute. Lisa took their side and told us "nobody wants to eat that." Anything that was not a traditional American wedding, she judged, critiqued, and made a huge spectacle of, to the point where I felt uncomfortable integrating any cultural elements into our wedding! It's hard enough planning a Chinese-American wedding, and to have our planner actively dismiss my culture like that was beyond frustrating. Most hurtful was Lisa's response to our feedback. When we politely mentioned these concerns to her, instead of apologizing, she insulted me and blamed me for her behavior. She said I made her feel dumb and feel "like poo." Never once did she care about my feelings, and never once did she acknowledge how her behavior was hurtful. While we had been nothing but friendly, patient, and accommodating in our strained relationship, she lectured me on how to be nicer to her instead! We ultimately ended our contract with her due to the many difficulties in working with her. Even now, we are saddened that she has made several attempts to dispute or delete our reviews, and has not sincerely apologized for her behavior, instead continuing to be defensive and blaming me for her behavior. If you'd like to take a look at an interesting trend exemplifying what we suspect Lisa does to retaliate against those who speak up for themselves, take a look at her recent reviews posted in June 2023, especially after these negative ones. See how many directly contradict the negative reviews, to the point where it's an uncanny correlation, almost as if they were expressly written to dismiss our reviews. We are not accusing her of anything, and we are sure she knows soliciting reviews in bulk, and selectively soliciting reviews, violates most company policies. This is just a VERY interesting pattern!

I believe this closes at sunset but I've been out here at sunrise and it's been pretty quiet until 9:30 am or so. There are a few walking trails and the docks/front of the boathouse (the cement areas) do flood during heavy rain. Definitely a Glastonbury community symbol... :) Lots of kids fishing on the dock/by the river. Playground on the premises & then the Glastonbury parks and rec manages the fields behind the clubhouse. I've been here when there was a wedding and it seemed intimate and romantic. I'm a big fan of this spot!

I begin with this because in all my traveling I have never used a travel agent or saw the benefit. I met Michele a few years ago and instantly liked her. She is one of those people with amazing energy. So when it was time to book my honeymoon, even though I knew where I wanted to go and stay, I decided to ask Michele to handle the booking and all the details for me. This was at least one thing I didn't have to think or worry about. As it turned out, it was the best decision that I have made in a very long time. The month before the wedding was my busiest of my working career. Added to that, the last minute details of the wedding and the wedding itself. My life was crazy insane but I knew that I would be able to relax on my honeymoon which was scheduled 2 days after my wedding. Here's where it gets good... The day after the wedding it was time to check in to our flights. I got my passport out to put in the details and the expiration date. I kept looking at it and it wasn't making sense to me...then reality hit.. My passport had expired the day before. I couldn't believe it.. How did this happen to me? I know better.. I'm experienced.. I always check, double check and triple check.. But this time, I hadn't because I was more concerned with getting my finance his first passport. I never thought to look at mine. My dream honeymoon was lost... along with all the money I spent to book it. After my screaming, crying and subsequent panic attack.. I started to think. I thought.. ok.. I have a travel agent.. I have heard Michele tell stories about people who this has happened to... So I texted her and said, "Hi Michele... It's amateur hour at my house at the moment... you will never believe this, but my passport has expired and I am melting down"... She instantly texted me back and told me to calm down and that she was on it. About an hour later, she got back to me and said this is the plan... "I have contacted the hotels and the transfer companies. We are all set. They have agreed to push your check in date back a day and we will be able to change the flights. Tomorrow, get up at the crack of dawn and go to the emergency passport office and get a new passport. Long story short.. I did this, got my passport and left the next day. Through this whole sage, Michele was kind and patient and constantly reassured me that everything would be fine even though I thought all was lost. If it wasn't for her, her experience and guidance, I do believe all would have been lost. It was so incredible to know that I had someone to turn to. I also truly believe that the hotels would not have been so agreeable with me directly. But because she is an agent, they want to make sure that they are helpful when they can be. This whole experience has shown me the "TRUE VALUE" of a travel agent. I was able to go on my dream honeymoon that didn't disappoint. Unbeknownst to me, Michele, had one more surprise. When we checked into our room at JADE MOUNTAIN, ST. LUCIA~ which I had been waiting to see for 10 years, we were given an upgrade.. but not any upgrade...They gave us the best room in the entire hotel..(ps.. I have never been giving an upgrade) ....and Never did I think in a million years, I ever would be staying in this room.. I laughed and cried, at the same time. My dream literally came true. It wasn't until I got back and found out that Michele on one of her many travels, had met the owner of this hotel, spoke to her about us and asked her in her sweet Michele way, if there was anything they could do for us, it would be greatly appreciated. Well.. they came through and in the most amazing way. I want to thank Michele for making this all possible. I get emotional thinking about it. She gave me the experience of a lifetime and gave me my dream honeymoon. If it wasn't for her, I don't think my honeymoon even would have happened. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Janet was incredible before and at our wedding. Not only did a friend of ours who is also getting…read moremarried soon ask us for her info while we were still at the wedding, but even the bridal attendant at our venue said that Janet was wonderful, which was especially meaningful to us since she also told us that often the day-of coordinator and bridal attendant end up stepping on each other's toes a bit, which was not at all the case here. She kept everything and everybody on track, and there wasn't even the slightest hiccup of any kind throughout the entire day. Our parents initially weren't entirely on board with the idea of a day-of coordinator, but relented after the day went so smoothly. We were all able to fully enjoy the wedding, and be guests at our own party!
