The main floor was large, the bar area had a ton of room as well as tables, and upstairs had bleacher style seating that sucked when I first started going, but got updated and were super nice by the time I left. I managed to see bands such as Bayside, I Am The Avalanche, Killswitch Engage, Ville Valo, Static-X, Cannibal Corpse, and many many more acts over the years and I wanted to make sure I left this place the positive review I think it deserves. Overall, The House of Blues is a top notch venue and one of the best for alternative music in Las Vegas. Would it be better if it wasn't locatd in the middle of the massive Mandalay Bay Casino? Located right on Fremont St, Backstage Bar & Billiards is a venue I went to a couple of times when I lived in Las Vegas. I've seen bands like Letter Kills and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster as well as the likes of Cryptopsy and Abysmal Dawn. The last show I went to at the venue was said Maylene and the Sons of Disaster show in what I believe was May of 2024 (I'm catching up on venue reviews). The venue itself is a decent enough size and mostly consists of standing room only, though a few chairs for what I assume is ADA are usually lined up against the wall. The sound here was always solid enough and I don't have any complaints over that and the merch area was tucked away enough in the back that it didn't get in the way of the show itself. Overall, Backstage Bar & Billiards is a solid little venue that consistently has pretty decent shows. The staff here always did what they needed to do, and my only real complaint is that I wasn't able to score Green Day tickets here when they did that special show, but either way, it's a solid enough venue.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to finally see a show at Brooklyn Bowl! We bought general…read moreadmission tickets for The Maine a few months in advance through their artist presale. The ticket buying experience was super smooth, and they were very communicative up until the event with info about parking, etc. (free for locals with your show ticket, btw! Be sure to validate at the merch shop.) On the day of the show, we conveniently parked at the LINQ and had a short walk over through the casino and down the LINQ promenade. We arrived about an hour after doors intentionally, so got in without any delay. Everything is set up very well here. You go through standard security, up an escalator, and are met with merch stands for both the venue and artists as well as a few bars. I believe my beer was only $17 for a 24 oz which seemed reasonable compared to other venues in town. We eventually decided to upgrade to a high top table in the back of the venue, which made the show a lot more comfortable, considering there were three openers. It was $200, and seated 4. We were lucky to get the one right in the front, so truly had the best possible view of the stage. This area also came with a server who was okay, but I took a star off considering we didn't see him until the third opener was about to go on, and they did last call after about two songs from the headliner - I didn't feel like we really got to take advantage of having a server. I know they also rent out the bowling lanes, bar seating, and an upstairs standing room area. While the venue itself is larger than I expected, it's still very approachable and intimate. As long as you're okay with standing, there isn't a bad spot in the house, but I thought upgrades were reasonably priced if you'd prefer to sit. Can't wait for my next show here!

The ball was also fun with good DJ entertainment and dancers. They did have some interesting vendors setup around the venue which we did find some nice items to buy (unfortunately it was a little hard to talk to the vendors and see their goods due to dark venue and music volume). More announcements from an MC about who was performing and upcoming performances would of helped regarding the entertainment. Overall our experience was good, but this ball was more of a social media event than a celebration of darkness and mystery.

The chicken was juicy and flavorful and it was served on a bed of fried onions that actually went perfectly together. I also got a side of the Jalapeño Cornbread with bourbon butter on the side. The sweetness from the butter with the slight heat from the cornbread balanced perfectly. My sister ordered the Smoked Brisket sandwich and she said it was really tender and delicious. Overall, the food was great, the flavors were on point, and I'm really glad I finally got to try this spot! Service was great and there was also a performance that we got to see during our dinner.
