She is very knowledgeable concerning taxation law and quite competent at running the numbers, however, for the Obscene amount of money they charge ($800 for "a very simple return," Marci's words) there is no excuse for making us wait until April 15th, the dreaded tax-day deadline, before we could pick up our documents. My wife was home in bed with a cold, so I drove in that Monday morning to sign and get the documents. Lee Ann and another young woman behind the counter said we both had to sign. I asked if I could sign for my wife, but Lee Ann said, "No, call her and tell her to come in." She arrived about 20 minutes later in her pajamas and understandably upset. She explained she had gone through her phone record and found no evidence they had tried to call despite Lee Ann's contention they had called multiple times. My wife asked, "Why couldn't you have emailed me like Marci did?" at which point Lee Ann snapped at her and said, "Stop yelling," then tried to put my wife in a "time-out" saying, "You need to go over there and sit until you're able to calm down." Really, Lee Ann? How dare you. Who the hell do you think you are? You have no right to talk to your clients that way. The other girl behind the counter was very sweet and tried to be accommodating, but Lee Ann was just vulgar, abusive and punitive. She is clearly a liability to this group. My advice to David Raff: fire Lee Ann and give that other girl a raise. Later we expressed our concerns to Marci, but her email response was just defensive: "I'm sorry if you were confused, but..." and then went on to check off a laundry list of how we were wrong. She also added several alternatives which could have saved my wife from having to drive in, however, none of those options were ever offered by the ladies at the front desk. This is no way to run a business, especially while charging such exorbitant prices! Our final cost: $1,200. I know of several other tax accounts out there whose prices are reasonable and they don't abuse their clients.
