A strange little place this one.
The drinks are good, no doubt about it. They're offering something a little different here; cocktails with a twist served in a variety of interesting vessels or with unexpected additions (popcorn/hundreds and thousands etc) But that said, I wouldn't consider them 'crafted' or designed by a true mixologist. They are more fun than anything else. They are also quite expensive, for Leicester anyway.
The real issue is the location. It is obviously a popular place, so good luck getting a table. Don't even try if you haven't booked. There will probably be a spare table inside, but they won't actually let you sit at it. They seem to have extremely high standards for their customers, considering this is... Leicester. I've not witnessed such pretentiousness in London, let alone in the Midlands.
They also seem to think of their interior as having a designer speakeasy vibe. I'm afraid not. It is extremely basic, uncomfortable and cold, with odd display items for apparently no reason, and extremely cheap decor. The ceiling is actually offensive. It does not feel special at all, especially when you've been sat by the door which seems to be open all the time. If you're offered a seat on the 'terrace' refuse. It is Winter now and those heat lamps are doing nothing...
Pop in to try one interesting cocktail if you can get a seat and the staff don't insult you. Otherwise don't bother. read more
