I was very interested in one particular car listed on their website. I contacted the business on a Friday, and was told that I could not see the car without scheduling an appointment due to COVID. I called back on Saturday morning and spoke with the business development manager, who scheduled my appointment for that afternoon. During the conversation, I advised her that I did not have a trade-in, and that my financing was pre-approved. I live about one hour away from the lot, and unfortunately, I encountered some traffic congestion on the highway near an area amusement park. I called the manger and explained my issue; I was told this was not a problem, she would advise the sales rep that I was running about 15 minutes late. When I arrived at the lot, I found a salesman seated at his desk with a couple. He asked me how he could help me; I explained I was there for my appointment. He advised me that "this couple JUST WALKED IN and bought (the car I had scheduled an appointment to see)". They "just walked in"? What about appointments? When I emphasized that I had scheduled an appointment to see this car and had been in contact with the business manager during the day, he then told me "she just texted me about the appointment five minutes ago" and then followed that with "I thought you were coming to look at (names another vehicle that is several years older then what I asked to see)". I felt completely disrespected by this man. I had worked with the staff to schedule an appointment to see a specific vehicle, and I was mindful of the email that they sent stating that appointments are required due to COVID. Apparently, the sales representative felt it acceptable to sell the car out from me despite my appointment and my communication with the company's staff, and to then try steer me toward an older, bigger vehicle that I had zero interest in. To her credit, the manager who arranged the appointment was apologetic - though her solution was also to suggest that I look at another car - which was not acceptable given my specific request to see one vehicle that met my needs. This was an utterly disappointing experience. read more
