Two years ago, I bought half my home theater system from a big box store and the other half on my own. I had the big box install. They sent the minor leaguers, despite paying for the major leaguers. They screwed up a complex installation. The major league was sent in to do it right. I had looked for a local small business to do this, but there was none to be found.
I recently had a problem and isolated it to the HDMI cable in the wall. The big box quoted me $200, but since they had already done work, they offered a "deal" at $150. Fortunately, I found 316 Tech Services who quoted me $65 for the same job.
Unfortunately, the problem was not the cable but the receiver itself. To repair it would have been ridiculous in terms of cost and effort, so, I decided to replace the receiver.
316 Tech Services sold me a better receiver at a discounted cost. They made my system more efficient by eliminating an amplifier. They customized my system to my needs.
Additionally, I had them re-install a second existing home theater system that had been poorly done. Lenny is a perfectionist that treats your installation as if it is his home. Everything had to be perfectly aligned and provide the ultimate home theater experience your specific system is capable of. My second system is an inexpensive 5.1 setup that now sounds like you are in a theater.
I do not believe you can find this type of custom service at the EXTREMELY reasonable cost they offer anywhere else. After he was done, Lenny thought about something he could do to improve the installation. He came back to do additional work on his own. Again, he wants it to be perfect. As good customer service as I've ever received. I'm giving them a 5, but I'd give them a 10 if I could.
Don't bother with big box cost and lack of customer service. 316 Tech Services is the better way to go. read more
