Some of us also had access to a suite just below the announcers booth. This was a cool experience because we got to watch the race while enjoying the comforts of air conditioning, theater style seats and a small balcony. All employees and their families were provided complimentary tickets to the event. Sponsoring the race also included opportunities to present winners trophies, tour the pit prior to the race and even ride in the pace car. I was given the opportunity to ride in the pace car for a 20 lap race. I know that most do not get the same experience that I had but if ever given the chance you should take it. This was an amazing experience at a racetrack that is a NASCAR legend. We had never been to anything like this and weren't sure what to expect. There are plenty of opportunities to purchase food at one of the concession stands. Typical event food such as pizza, chicken tenders and fries, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, nachos, etc. are available at reasonable prices. There are also specialty vendors which we assume change depending on the race. Tonight, there were opportunities to have apple cider mini doughnuts, ice cream, boiled peanuts, cookies, deep fried Oreos and frozen drinks. They also have merch for purchase. It appears that at one end of the stadium is the beer garden area but we did not check that out. We did not see alcohol served anywhere else but the suites and beer garden area. It does appear that coolers are allowed. There were signs when exiting the suites that said, "No alcohol beyond this point". Overall, this was a great experience.

There are lots of wide cracks in the pavement. We paid $20 for parking and we were given 2 free tickets to get in. I thought it was a little different. They have a six pack maximum you can bring in and the sign said the cooler had to be no larger than 12in x 12in but we saw people that had slightly larger coolers. Be prepared to wait in line for food and beer. I.giggled at the sign on the side of the food stand because it said "fast food." There was nothing fast about it. Although it appeared the workers were working very hard...I just don't think they could cook and fry as quick as demanded. Instead of sitting in the bleachers, I think next time I will take my chair and sit along turn 3.

I will generally drive the road courses when I'm out because it's all driver-vs-track with up to seven other contests going on at roughly the same time... high banks mean high speed and the Gerding King road course is both. even the main straight is tilty! thought my car was going to slide off the track when I set it down on orange; it was moving sort of slideways and hanging on the guide as I started my first lap because the tilt is that aggressive! felt totally out classed and way out of my league for a long minute... but that brief bit of uncertainty makes Mach 1 stand out for me and the need to stay fast all the way around builds character - the skill part is knowing when to "fast" and when to brake. drags and ovals are generally better with a couple other racers to taunt and tease and are usually populated by a dedicated and friendly group on race day. circle track racers are a peaceful and happy people, but like all 'cults' it can take up a good deal of your time and resources ;-) Mach 1 has what it takes to get you on the track and keep you there: they have rentals to get you started or you can pick up ready to drive or build-it-yourself cars in your choice of styles and colors, plus parts and accessories to personalize whatever it is you decide to run. I have a basic factory built that can mostly keep up. I'm not likely to win any serious competition but I'm on the track here and there and elsewhere primarily for the adventure...

It was a work related trip of sorts and it was my first time at a NASCAR race. It won't be the last since the company I work for has three more the rest of the year (Nashville, Talladega and Daytona). I'm looking forward to it and I'll review those tracks after I visit. The track itself is one of the oldest and shortest on the circuit. It's nestled on a hilly stretch off 220 (Greensboro Rd) on the south side of town. Surprisingly it was fairly easy to get in and out of the parking lot before and after the race. The Sherriff's Deputies and Virginia State Troopers kept traffic moving. I was able to go down to Pit Row which was fantastic. I was able to see what takes place behind the scenes and it's fascinating. I literally had a blast. The food options here are akin to your typical state fair menu. Corn Dogs, Burgers, Fried Chicken, Buckets of Fries, etc etc.. They have the "famous" Martinsville hot dog. I didn't partake in any of that because my company had a suite and food was provided there. Plus, I'm on a keto based diet so all of that kind of food is a "no no" right now. Maybe next time. Overall it was a great experience. The track and stands are nice and the people were great. If you're a race fan this may be on your list of tracks to visit. Y'all will have a good time.

The restrooms (including the portable toilets in the parking areas) were serviced frequently so they were pretty clean. They offered golf cart "ADA" rides anyone needing a lift to/from parking and the track. The vendor food was ridiculously expensive but that's no surprise. For the events - no seat was a bad one. I would definitely go to this venue again!
