I drive 30+ miles from Durham to get my car fixed at Quality Auto Service, and I will continue to be their loyal customer. And these are the reasons why YOU should also consider them giving your business :) About 3 months ago, my AC stopped working on my 10-year-old Honda Civic when I was on a road trip. I made an emergency stop at a random auto shop to figure out what exactly was wrong. Once I figured out what the problem was and came back to Durham, I started calling multiple mechanics in the area to fix my AC. I received quotes on replacing condenser & dryer and evaporator expansion valve anywhere from $900 - $2000. After considering my finances and online reviews, I decided to go with Quality Auto Service. Not because they were on the cheaper side of the quote. It was because they were the only auto shop who told me and warned me that condenser and dryer come together and make sure no one tries to overcharge me on the two items. They were incredibly honest and did such a wonderful job on my car. To this day, my AC runs fantastic! Couple weeks ago, I had an airbag alarm came up on my car which eventually went out. Based on my mom's recommendation, I took my car to a dealership service center where they charged me $100 to diagnose and quoted me $2100 to fix my seatbelt / airbag sensors saying all 4 sensors in my car need to be replaced in order to fix the airbag alarm issue. It's not surprising I left the shop without fixing anything there... I returned to Quality Auto Service to see if they can give me a second opinion. They checked out my car with free of charge and told me that although there was a history of airbag alarm coming on, there is no issues with my airbag system, the weight sensors in my car work just fine, and I do not need to "fix" anything on my airbag system. I am so glad I found these guys - They are so honest and tell me exactly what I need to fix instead of trying to sell me unnecessary services. I will continue to come back for any car issues. I strongly recommend you give them a call to make an appointment for waiting or dropping off because they get booked up all the time!

So after a bit of research we chose CarFix. Glad we did! We had to get the car towed as we knew it did not have any oil in it..we thought, great, this is going to cost a fortune so they towed it in looked at the car and gave us a call with what was wrong and the cost to fix. Very reasonable based on the research I did..they told us that it would be ready on Monday (they towed it on Friday) we asked that since it was there could they please give the a/c a charge, no problem. They called Friday evening and told me I need new rear brakes which we knew about so we decided to get that done too. Everyone there was so nice and very friendly I felt as though they were honest but most of all my car runs great! We will use these guys for all our future car needs. Highly recommend Thank you for a pleasant experience!!

My wife dropped the truck off at 8:00 AM while I was at work, yet I still found myself waiting past closing time to pick it up. The final bill exceeded what I would have expected to pay at a Chevrolet dealership for the same maintenance. While I understand quality work comes at a price, the value simply was not there for the amount charged. What left the strongest impression was sitting in the waiting area listening to the manager/owner conduct business calls that did not reflect the level of professionalism I expect from a company handling expensive vehicles. Between the excessive cost, the lengthy turnaround time, and the overall customer experience, this is not a shop I would choose to use again. Read the comments!

The guy I spoke to over the phone said I could drop it off first thing Saturday morning. I have to be in at work starting at 1:30pm that day too so I asked if they will have it done before that. The guy said "oh yeah, we'll have it ready for you before then." I dropped it off that Saturday at 8:30am and received a phone call later around 10:30am saying that my vehicle was ready for pick up. I went in and the guy said if I was aware about the tire. Confused, I asked him "what about the tire?" and he said that there was a piece of fence stuck in it so they patched it. This is not what I brought the vehicle in for so I went outside to see if the tailpipe was patched and it was still separated! I went back in to inform them why I had brought my vehicle in originally and they had no idea what I brought my vehicle in for originally. They proceeded to inspect my vehicle to examine what needed to be done, got me a quote and said the muffler and tailpipe had to be fully replaced. I asked if they could do it that same day despite me having to go into work later. He said they couldn't get it done that day because they don't have enough staff and would have to order the parts. So not only was I charged for a service I never requested, my time was completely wasted, and the service I had requested over the phone was never accurately annotated/documented to ensure that my service was taken care of on my vehicle. Not to mention, if you don't have the parts available why would you tell me over the phone that my vehicle would be fixed that same day? Complete lack of attention to detail, communication, and consideration.

He didn't get to it and says he might get it Saturday but they close at 1. At this point I'm highly irritated and say I'm picking my car up Saturday morning regardless of work being done or not. He says he's never had anyone ask for so much work (???) and never attempted even the alignment or state inspection. He had told me before I dropped it off to write down all the symptoms of the knocking, jerking when driving, and difficult steering problems and what has been done so far. I did. Apparently literacy is not one of his skill sets because he took my writing of what has already been done as things I wanted him to do....um NO! Too bad that his employees didn't understand the concept of a dash cam when they were in my car burping, farting, name calling other patrons, and going out for lunch! He said that all components were carefully checked but my car was on the lift for all of 4 minutes which would not have been enough time to remove and replace the belly plate, inspect all parts of the suspension and steering, and actually check anything. Again....dashcam proof. Stay far away!

This seemed shady but, I wrote the experience off as a one-off mistake. Then, back at the beginning of July they changed my oil...and completely damaged the hood of my car and passenger side fender by trying to slam the hood closed on the stick that holds it up. They sent me home without mentioning it... When I came back to ask what happened they said they would "check the cameras". The business manager then acknowledged that they caused the damage. And then all communication stopped. No phone calls. No responses to emails. Nothing. I had to file a complaint with the attorney general of NC and only then did they communicate through email acknowledging the damage they caused. Then they blocked my emails so I couldn't forward them the repair estimate. So the attorney general's office did it for me. Only then did they go and pay for the repair...They didn't ever apologize. They never called me. They didn't cover a rental car for me and my kids while the van was in the shop. I'm lucky they even paid for the repair. And here's the thing... someone not as persistent as me may not have ever gotten their car fixed. Someone who didn't know how to contact the attorney general might not have ever gotten a repair. So be careful. This business is not one who wants to do the right thing. They aren't willing to admit when a mistake is made. And they aren't willing to fix their mistakes unless the law is involved.
