I'm coming from the old Fairtex camps out of NorCal and was happy to see they had a Fairtex banana bag and similar heavy bags setup to hit on. They even had 3 separate speed bag stations (for varying heights) with the smaller, quicker speed bags which are great to use. Kru Ian was very hospitable. Took time to even chat it up a bit on top of giving pointer (and reminder!) on my "lazy" teep! If you want to get in shape and learn 1 of the best martial arts for self-defense and/or be a competitive fighter, Muay Thai with a supplemental foundation in Western Boxing is where it's at IMHO. They offered 24/7 access to the facility, by way of going through the Anytime Fitness that is located next door to them. This was key for me because my schedule didn't line up with their class schedule, but I could go and do the posted workouts at anytime! Even better, there was always a coach available that I could get clarification for movements that I wasn't familiar with. They program for crossfit, AFL (Advanced Fat Loss), Strength, and Physique training! I loved the different workout options and their program is definitely a challenge, but like any program, it's adjustable. I think this helps to maintain a positive, non-judgmental atmosphere because you're all there for a similar reason but you're probably all participating in different programs. They have an incredible staff of coaches. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and they truly know their movements. Noah, Anthony, and Jesse were super helpful and friendly with their feedback. These guys won't steer you wrong, regardless of the programming you participate in. The facility is clean and well maintained. If you need help with nutrition, they work with a Registered Dietitian who can help and they work with a meal prep and delivery service. Y'all, this place makes getting in shape a breeze. They have every service you need. Moreover, all of the staff and members that I came in contact with, were fantastic people. I have worked out for most of my life and was an athlete in school so the gym is not new to me, so I thought. The coaches here at M4G CrossFit open every class with a QOD-question of the day! This allows everyone to get to know each other better and find out who has things in common with you. They discuss the warm up and workouts but they also BREAK DOWN EVERY MOVE...what? Wait, did I really say that?!? Yes I did! They want you to learn proper form and correct technique so you don't get hurt doing something you don't know how to do; or get hurt doing something you thought you knew how to do. And guess what, I found out there is a lot I thought I knew but my form was off. Definitely explains those days of "oh my shoulder hurts" or "won't do that move again". We only know as much as we are taught, right? These coaches are awesome! There is so much offered here: multiple classes throughout the day, open gym, partner WODs, OnRamp (beginners training), and personal training. Not only does this gym support its members in their health and fitness goals but they are a huge supporter of the community. They do community events to raise money for our city! How cool is that?? One minute it's nice and empty and the next thing you're wondering if you're going to trip on your neighbors step while trying to spin around and keep up, lol. The instructor (Darian) gives a quick review in the beginning for new class takers but once the lights go out it's time to get down to business. The class is 45 minutes of high energy, great dancing music, and a million squats to get your booty nice and right for life. It is loud in the class with the music and instructor yelling over the mic, but I promise you once you get through your first class you'll be ready to come back for more. The high cardio workout is one of the best ones I've come across in a long time. You can buy a member ship with the Y and class is included or pay $20/class for drop ins......either way it's worth it.
