Everyone was very helpful and very nice…read more But, we came here to cut down a fresh Christmas tree, and this "tree farm", had nothing left besides precut trees from Sparta, NC. My boyfriend and I were greeted and given a saw (when asked) and we ventured out into the farm looking for our beautiful tree. We walked, and walked, and walked. All of the trees were either "Charlie Brown" trees, or they were tagged for other customers. It's only December 4th. So, this farm is advertising that they have several varieties of trees (check out their website) and they had nothing left except for precut Fisher Firs, and it's barely December. We ended up taking home one of the firs because we didn't want to spend all day looking for tree farms. Very disappointing experience, but I gave 2 stars based on the staff.

With the passing of Pop and Son (God bless), Mistletoe Meadows now operates the tree farm and retail location. It was our family's first time going out to a tree farm, and everyone was so helpful and nice. They offer choose & cut and pre-cut trees, wreaths, garlands, baling, snacks for sale and hayrides. They even loaded the tree atop our car and tied it down. With $5 per foot and located in Garner, it was easy on the pocket book and odometer. Also, we received a free evergreen wreath with a tree purchase which let me stretch my budget to buy a boxwood wreath - absolutely beautiful! The kids had fun taking turns cutting the tree and dragging it up the small hill to be baled. We finished our visit with hot chocolate. Another family Christmas memory made. First off... little to no help was offered upon our arrival. When we got there we had to seek out someone to help us, and his directions were, lets say less than helpful. After wondering around for a while we found something that would work, and I attempted to cut it down on my own (which with a good saw, is not difficult for a tree that's about 6" thick). I got two long cuts in, and the blade became stuck... So stuck that the thing bent and I almost snapped it several times. I gave up instead of breaking their equipment and got someone to saw it down (kind of killed the whole theme of "cutting down your own" that I was going for). I have no way to compare pricing, but we paid $30 for some kind a fur... So I was happy... 6 foot! All in all, it was OK. The only reason this is 3 stars and not less is the guy who cut it down, shook it and wrapped it for us. He was EXTREMELY helpful, fun, and worth the trip.

The Family Farm on Avent Ferry was easy to locate and has ample parking. Empty wagons are set up out front for use transporting pumpkins. Numerous pumpkins line the shop inside and out. We gathered up our pumpkins and used the outdoor checkout table. After paying, we enjoyed a meal from the hot dog stand. There is also an acai bowl shop and a food truck. Only issue was the Goblin pumpkins were listed as 50%, however, the ladies at the checkout table insisted they were 25% off. Even though they were situated near the sign saying 50% off, they rung them up as 25% off and then didn't adjust the signage. I understand that incorrect signage can happen, but they should fix it and make it clear that they are charging a different amount than advertised.

Decent selection of a few varieties of trees that you cut yourself. They do charge extra for…read morebetting so if you're driving a distance and want it wrapped, be prepared. It's $10/foot for you cut trees and cash only so plan ahead. Friendly family owned operation. Better tree selection than the place in Jacksonville but if you're used to tree farms out west or on New England, don't expect that here. But for this part of the state, it's a good find! I just hate that they butcher all the trees into cones. I'd rather a natural tree that doesn't look like Edward Scissorhands had come through.

They also have wreaths and the ball lights that they made...they are beautiful. Prices are high but to be expected when you buy a Christmas tree once a year. It seems that if you wait a little longer like a week or so after Thanksgiving, the prices did decrease about $50 or more. I guess they are trying to get rid of the trees. So if you can be patient, highly recommend waiting a week after Thanksgiving and you can get somewhat of a deal but to me they are still high lol. Still a beautiful tree!!

Trees are very fresh, have great shapes, for very reasonable prices. Went back this year and got a 7ft. tree for $65, better than prices at a lot of other places I've been too.
