I am so thankful for the recommendation because the process was so easy and affordable, compared to other window treatment companies, through North Shore Shutters. I contacted Bill who was easy to communicate with and scheduled for an estimate. I highly appreciate his straightforward personality and unapologetic honesty. He knows he has a great product and provides incredible prices; he doesn't have to sell you on anything. He didn't try to upsell me and informed me of my options that gave me more bang for my buck. For example, he told me that he has a team that could install the shades (for a very reasonable price) but if someone in the house was handy and as long as we knew how to use a drill, we could install the shades ourselves. He was right, the shades weren't difficult to install. With the right drill bit and a charged drill, it only took a couple of hours to install 9 shades. Bill informed me of a promotional North Shore Shutters was offering over the summer that was still running, free upgrade for Bottom Up Top Down shades. These cellular shades are quality! They are lightweight but sturdy and look so beautiful in our home. The room darkening shades do a great job of keeping our bedroom dim in the morning where we have two East facing windows. If you're looking for competitive prices, call Bill, the price for all 9 shades was incredible! After accepting the proposal and once the invoice was paid for (happened all on the same day), it took 2 weeks for the blinds to arrive. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, upon getting ready for bed that same night, I had noticed a 1" scrape on my bedroom nightstand, right below one of the windows he was measuring. As my furniture is in near-perfect condition, I know that scrape was not there beforehand and no one else had been in that bedroom. The fact that the representative did not mention he marred my furniture, removing a layer of the stain and coating, led me to believe that he is not an honest retailer and I chose to give my business to another vendor. The estimate for repair was over $100. As such, I would not recommend this vendor.

We had electric blinds installed for three hard to reach windows, 7 manual blinds for 7 sliding doors, and at least 10+ blinds for windows. Basically, the entire 1st and 2nd floors received new blinds. The day of installation, a team of three installed all of this, working around several movers (it was our moving day) and around boxes upon boxes. They had to install blinds above a stairway (I suggested to go out on the roof which they did) and they were courteous and professional. The electric blinds have a remote control, which is awesome because the windows are 15 ft off the ground. They also refused to take a tip!

Well that same day I had another company come out and quote me and I was quoted 6k! I was like oh wow, maybe I can't afford to cover these doors. So Budget Blinds called me the next day, and I said hey, I don't think I can afford blinds. She had me explain what I was looking for and she said, "I'm pretty sure we can beat that." So I was like cool, come on out. They sent Ryan out, who I believe is also the owner, and he was very nice, patient, not salesmenny and understood what I was wanting and pointed me to the exact blinds I picked out earlier with the other group. His quote came in at $2900. Wow! So I was a little nervous there had to be a catch or that install would be terrible. 4 weeks later, the installer comes. I can't remember his name, but he was the nicest kid, and he did an amazing job, asked me to take a look in the middle of the project to make sure I was happy. It was just a really great install. I am extremely pleased with the quality and look of the blinds, and I will use them again when I need more windows covered! P.S. They all love dogs! He did everything, and this made the whole process so much simpler. We had an issue with an error from the manufacturer--the bottom of the blind wasn't level with the sill. Called Chris, he came out and agreed--no problem. He ordered a new blind, installed it himself when it was ready, and then pointed out that a few of the rows toward the bottom of the blind were slightly crinkled and said the crinkle should smooth itself out, but, if not, we should call him and he'd l have it remade again. I was so impressed with this. Turns out we didn't have to call him. The crinkle smoothed itself out as he expected. FYI: The last time I dealt with a window treatment company, one of the woven blinds we ordered had a very noticeable flaw when it was installed--it was somewhat unraveled in a very small spot, but, because the installer wasn't the owner, and only did his job--which was to install--he didn't say a word about it. So we just thought we'd have to put up with the flaw, and we HAVE been. If it had been Chris, HE would have pointed out the flaw and would have reordered a new blind without hesitation.
