    Integrity First Sales

I've attended estate sales from a lot of the major estate sale companies throughout San Diego,…read moreOrange County, and Los Angeles, and Integrity First Sales has become my favorite. As a shopper, it's easy to see why their sales stand out: warm welcomes, genuine enthusiasm for each sale, fair pricing, beautiful staging, great photography and social media, and a fun environment that makes people want to come back. I've been on both sides of the estate sale process -- as a shopper, and also helping deal with a family estate -- and I can honestly say I would recommend them both to families looking for someone trustworthy to handle a sale and shoppers looking for beautiful, interesting finds. I've been going to their sales for over a year now, probably at least a dozen of them, and I've spent many thousands of dollars there on everything from antiques and collectibles to things I just needed around the house. Diana and Teri are sisters and co-owners, and their family is involved too -- their mom Judith and Teri's daughter Antonia. It really does feel like a family-run business in the best way. They are warm, hardworking, organized, honest, and very good at what they do. Their pricing is fair, and the environment is fun to shop. They do price some of the more unique or high-quality items on the higher side at first, but that makes sense to me. Those pieces deserve a chance to bring a strong price, especially on day one, and like most estate sales, pricing may be adjusted later if something hasn't sold. One of the things I love most is that they seem to care about the story behind the home. When it makes sense, they honor the person who lived there and collected those things over a lifetime. That part really matters to me. Their sales can get very busy, and I've personally watched them deal with big crowds, pressure, and people who are not always behaving well. They still manage to keep things moving, keep it fair, and keep the mood fun. Honestly, "grace under pressure" is the phrase that comes to mind because that is how they all are. I especially want to mention Antonia because I've seen her at the jewelry counter many times, and that is probably one of the most intense spots at any estate sale. People can get pushy and competitive around jewelry and valuables. I've always seen her be firm, organized, fair, and kind, even when customers were clearly out of line. There is a difference between being rude and holding boundaries in a chaotic environment. Another thing worth mentioning is that they have a great reputation. I hear good things about them not just from shoppers, but even from people who work in the estate sale world, which says a lot. Whether you are hiring someone to run a sale or just shopping their sales, I think Integrity First Sales is one of the best. They have earned my trust, my repeat business, and my enthusiastic recommendation.

I have been to a few of their sales, and have always felt like things could run better and the…read moreservice could be better, especially of how expensive things are. I don't mind paying $ for things I like. Last year I went to my neighbors estate sale, she has passed. I overheard them talking about how some girl found a bottle of crown royal (apparently it was worth money) and thank goodness they were able to make something up to not give it to her. She took the other bottles. I took a photo of the bottle and later found it for over $1,600. They made up an entire story how the kids wanted that bottle, I can assure you, I know them and they didn't. Just felt off. Yesterday three things stuck out to me that were just not kind. I got there at 7 am and was the first 10 people who was able to get inside. She posted a video saying over 100 people were waiting in line at opening. This was not true, it was closer to 50-60. Maybe after 11 they had more but at 9 it wasn't that full. I came there specifically for a brown set of flatware I saw online. I was THE FIRST ONE IN THE KITCHEN and it wasn't there. I asked and they said someone bought it. No one checked out with it. I waited. I guarantee you these ladies pick through and get what they want before sales day. 100%. No integrity in that. The most bothersome was a gentleman who spent OVER $3,000! The attitude he got from the women ringing him out was beyond me. Poor guy didn't speak English well and he just tried his best. Terrible! She also overcharged him $182, I'm a math queen, and that was horrible. If someone is spending that kind of money day one, you should be very kind to him. Anyway, plenty of other estate sales that I think have true integrity and don't steal alcohol and items others woke up early to purchase.

Warning to Potential Clients:…read more I'm writing this review to share my unfortunate experience with Family Estate Services--not out of anger, but to help others avoid the same issues I faced. I only received the payment I was owed after threatening legal action, which should never be necessary in a professional business relationship. Initially, Lisa presented herself as trustworthy, which led me to feel comfortable giving her access to my home while I was out of state for an estate sale. Unfortunately, that trust was seriously violated. Without my permission, her team used my appliances, causing a washing machine overflow that flooded my garage. I returned to find further damage, including a metal salt shaker cap jammed in the garbage disposal and adhesive Velcro stuck to a windowpane. None of this was reported or approved. A contractor who was working on-site informed me that a young male staff member urinated on the bathroom floor--something he had to personally bring to Lisa's attention to be cleaned. Both bathrooms were left filthy when I returned. More concerning was the inappropriate and unwanted behavior of an older male employee, who made advances toward me. I made it clear to Lisa that he was not to return to my property. Looking back, I regret not ending the contract then. I strongly caution other women--regardless of marital status--not to be alone with any male employee from this company. After the estate sale, Lisa repeatedly delayed payment with excuse after excuse: she thought her husband mailed the check, she was in the hospital, her mother had an injury, complications with a family adoption, and so on. Despite my patience, it became clear--especially after reading similar reviews from past clients--that this was a pattern of avoidance and unprofessionalism. Lisa seemed to count on clients giving up. She took advantage of my understanding nature, and I felt manipulated, underpaid, and disrespected. Only after I threatened small claims court did I receive my payment. What started as a professional agreement became a deeply stressful and disappointing ordeal. I share this so others can make an informed decision and, hopefully, avoid going through what I did. Think twice before hiring this company. Sincerely, Dawn R.

After interviewing a few other liquidators, I happened to find Estate Liquidations by VVS Antiques by a Google search. It was the luckiest connection I have ever made. Olga and Greg came to the house. They were not overwhelmed by the amount of 'stuff' was there. They identified key pieces that would be of value. They knew what the collections were. I signed the contract the next day. They started work before Thanksgiving and have work on organizing and pricing. The first sale was in January. They continued to organize and price until the final sale at the end of May. I cannot begin to express how much 'stuff' was in the property! Olga and Greg were at the house every day and worked long hours to clean, price and organize. I cannot adequately explain how extensive the work was and how diligent they were at working through it all. They never gave up. I feel that the day I found them was providence by the hand of God. After a couple of months, I felt completely confident with them and was able to leave them to manage the entire liquidation. They were extremely honest and meticulous in the record keeping. If you are looking for someone to liquidate and estate, Please, Please call Olga. You won't regret it!!!

Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. About three and a half weeks before we needed to be out of our rental, Steve came to review what we had available. We showed him many higher-priced, quality items and asked specifically about everything -- including food, supplements, furniture, a heavy fountain, and more. He indicated he would take it all and that we had enough to make it worth his time and effort. As agreed, five days before the scheduled pickup, his employee did a final walkthrough. We provided a detailed list of items we had already discussed with Steve and had even added additional items he had previously said he would take. Then, just two days later, we received a text saying this was now considered more of a cleanout -- and that we would need to pay him over $1,700. During a follow-up phone call, he said the items we had previously discussed were not worth his time to take. This was especially frustrating because we had offered to let him take only what he felt was worth selling. This sudden change completely disrupted our timeline and plans to be out of the rental by the end of the month. We feel the expectations set at the beginning were not honored, which put us in a very difficult position on a tight schedule. Based on our experience, I would advise being very cautious when making plans, especially if you are working within strict deadlines.

They both offered to take a 3,000sf house full of antiques, art, crystal, china, designer clothes & shoes, furniture etc off our hands and leave the house "broom clean" for an out of pocket cost of over $2,000! Haul my stuff away and then go sell it on eBay was my first thought. To say the least I was reluctant to meet with the third party, Quality Estate Sales. Boy was I surprised! Boris, the owner came thru the house with compassion and integrity looking at every item and did not focus on just the more valuable ones. Dealing with Boris and his crew was like dealing with my best friend. The way they came into the home and tenderly handled so many of the things we had treasured, cleaned them (the glassware and silver pieces) and set up beautiful organized displays truly touched my heart. I can not say enough about this quality, respectful, company. We ended up making money and not being out of pocket. Please, call Boris. Do not call those fancy hyped up ads with false reviews. Quality Estate Sales is the real deal!
