1 star for the nice theater but our entire experience was ruined by the rude staff and management, very unprofessional!! They were extremely slow at the concession counter and didn't have the proper staffing or training to access their credit card terminal. They accused us of a declined card in front of everyone when their machine was glitching!!! The attendant who helped us apologized for the problem with their Credit Card terminal but the manager told her not too? Wow! She was younger but that's no excuse for her behavior, regardless she clearly had no training for customer service. She was dressed inappropriately and has zero people skills. When I asked this "manager" her name she refused to provide it. Clearly this was not the first time this occurred. Additionally, she accused another customer of stealing his drink after he paid for it when the attendant handed it to him. We witnessed this too! It was quite a scene. Who are these ppl?? She was not professional and not a good look all around for the establishment. It's too bad because the theater is nice. We won't be back till they get better people working there. Horrible experience! She should be fired for this! Unacceptable to accuse your patrons for their own failure! read more

Pretty disappointed in this movie theater and wouldn't recommend families go here. Started at the concession stand where I asked for a kid's popcorn box (just the box) and was told "no, we count the boxes at the end of the night". Mind you I purchased water and a snack for my 2 year old that isn't old enough to eat popcorn yet and definitely isn't getting a slushie or soda. But he's two and wanted the same box his older cousin was using. Just charge people a fee cents more for what you purchase them at as an option instead of just "no". Then we get to the ticket stand where I was asked if my bag was for medical purposes. I said yes and was asked in front of strangers and friends what is the medical purpose. And being put on the spot I said what it was, but come on, you aren't allowed to ask people their medical condition in CA due to medical privacy laws like ADA and CMIA. I assume it's not the employee's fault, but the owners fault for pushing those kinds of requirements/rules onto their employees. If you're concerned with gun safety, get a metal detector. But if you're concerned with people bringing in their own food, boo hoo. We won't be returning, we'll drive the extra miles to Redlands. To the comment left by the business owner, you may want some legal advice on your company policies then when you're having your employees ask what customer's medical condition is. Cant believe you're even defending something like that. read more

The experience at 2nd Street is ruined by the customer service. Today, we arrived for our movie and were surprised that the single line queue was gone for the snack bar. It was never well organized but at least it was obvious how to queue for snacks. Since the queue was gone, everyone lined up behind the individual cashiers and we were waiting for our turn. Then one of the employees started yelling that there was just one line and we were to get out of the individual lines and form a single line. Naturally next up was chaos. We were just going to leave but we had our tickets and there was nobody checking tickets or to make a return. We'll just skip the local theater and go elsewhere next time. read more

This place is so fraudulent. We got the platinum monthly membership back in December that included the IMAX. We used this membership to see 2 movies with no issues. Now we have quite a few tickets rolled over and tried to use them for this weekend on an IMAX movie. We tried to book it and it wouldn't allow us without paying $8 on top of what we already paid. We spoke to the general manager and she was extremely rude and unhelpful. We were never notified that the terms changed and she refused to refund money for the 4 months we stacked up tickets. This place is a joke, run by children that have no concept of customer service. Very disappointing. read more

I have been here many times with my trained and government registered emotional support dog, she is a 10 pound small dog that sits in a sling in my lap under a towel. Today the assistant manager hassled me over bringing her in. I showed her my government registration card and explained that we have never had a problem here before and how it worked. She wouldn't look at the card and just wanted to refuse service. They have permanently lost my business and I hope will lose yours. There is a good reason why they have a 2 star rating and more 1 star ratings than any other level! read more

I really like this theater but they no longer make the flat bread pizza which I loved. I tried the pizza they are selling now and it's gross the crust is still doughy in the inside and I had to spit it out. I wish they go back to the flatbread pizza which was very good. read more

I love this theater and have been to many different theaters, stretching as far as LA and Orange County. There is no doubt that 2nd Street is one of the best movie theaters in greater Riverside County. The staff is phenomenal, and their Rewards program is great. I do miss the Dolby Atmos, but with the introduction of IMAX, I was okay letting go of the beloved sound system that once was. Truthfully, the only reason I don't give it the well-deserved 5/5 stars is that every time we step into the building, the service drops from 5G to SOS mode. Obviously, in the movies I won't be on my phone or anything like that, but even in case of an emergency, it would be nice if I could have Wifi so I could still be reached out to in an emergency, rather than hoping that everything will be okay in a three-hour-long movie. read more

A little busy tonight going to see 5 Nights at Freddy's 2, no big deal but they ran out of lids at station. I wasn't the only one that needed one so I went and asked for some, she really couldn't leave her post which is understandable since she was checking tickets for entry but she said say that she would get someone to refill it. I didn't think to wait since it was no big deal but I guess she remembered which theater my family and I were going into because no more then 5 min after seating a fellow worker brought in some lids for me and a couple other movie goers. The location itself isn't bad at all. The concession counter was clean & so were the fountains for drinks. I can't comment on other movies and stuff because I went to see the Chosen finally for season 4. Majority of the people in there were older and respectful so we had no issues. Our theatre room had recliner seats with push buttons, so this was nice. The food was kinda expensive though, and staff wasn't the friendliest people but they definitely weren't respectful either though. A lot of them were young adults or teens so, no disrespect but, I tend not to get my hopes up when it comes to manners and respectfulness from them. Second Street Cinema in Beaumont continues to deliver a solid theater experience every time I visit. I honestly don't understand why people come onto Yelp just to complain about this place. The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and clearly take pride in maintaining the theater. It's always clean, comfortable, and provides exactly what you want from a local movie experience -- good sound, clear screens, and a relaxed atmosphere. People need to stop nitpicking small things and appreciate that this is one of the few community theaters still doing things right. It's a great spot for families, date nights, or just catching a new release without having to drive far. read more

I honestly used to love this place. Was so happy when I discovered it since it's way closer than my Holy Grail of theaters, Thousand Oaks (in Murrieta). I haven't been to 2nd Street in a few months and honestly it's since went way downhill. Prices are outrageous, even for the very early films. And the worst, is that now they are so (broke? religious? charitable?) that they now rent out their theater to a church on a Sunday mornings. That's not so bad in itself but as a result, they start the movies later and after they sell you seats and you stand in line to buy snacks and proceed to the theatre, you can't sit in your purchased seats because the church still hasn't cleared out, and they (may) block your seats with their equipment. The church people are really nice and I'm not trying to downgrade them at all but a commercial place that rents out of their theater to somebody else should make certain when someone is paying $76 to buy seats/snacks to go to a movie, that the seats are available. The good sh|t... *Food is delicious and a great price. Loved the pizza and pretzel. Later purchased a churro sundae which was also well priced and great. Staff it's nice. Everyone always seems in a decent mood and happy to help. Summary... I won't go back for awhile but when I do, I hope the place has improved enough that it can once again earn the 5 stars that it has the potential to deserve. Amen. read more

This theater has the potential to be the best in Beaumont. The screen was nice and the Dolby surround sound was decent, but the auditorium was way too hot and humid which made it uncomfortable. Second is it supposed to be Dolby, but the sound was low and hard to hear, which was disappointing. read more

We have always had good experiences when visiting this theater. It's nice to have an option other than Redlands. When this theater first opened, we signed up online, even though there was no reward program in affect yet. We've purchased tickets many times over the years, using the number assigned at sign up, with no issues. Until now...lol When the rewards first became active, you are automatically assigned the "free" level. I wanted to upgrade our membership utilizing the 'Black Friday' deal. Only problem was the system kept saying my membership number wasn't found, was incorrect. The only option for contact of corporate is a message system through the website, no phone number available. So I sent a message describing the problem and what I was trying to do. Radio silence followed. I tried again a couple weeks later, this time just to upgrade since TDay was over, same issue. Sent another message stating what I was running in to. Radio Silence again! My husband and I watch Christmas movies together, starting with the oldies. They were playing "It's a Wonderful Life" on the big screen...woohoo. So I bought tickets and figured we go early and ask for a manager; see if we could get help that way. Let me tell you, Milissa is an absolute angel and asset to that company! Not only did she help to get my membership number workable and recognizable, she also gave us the card that goes with it to use. As well as some credits. I finally am a 'real' person in the rewards system, using the number they assigned me at sign up! She also went over and beyond and was going to follow-up on seeing where the messages actually get/got sent, since they neever received them at that specific location. Totally recommend for a less crowded theater experience, laid back atmosphere, and awesome customer service! read more

Got there for the early movie showings walk in and big welcome what they failed to tell us was that their system was down but go to kiosk to get tix. Ok kiosk shows no movies. The girl said oh yah because our system is down. Cash only. Well no cash in me. Same girl tells me it's been down 6 days. No signs anywhere advising of this situation. I have not once had a good experience here. Believe me only go if there is a timing conflict with Harkins and other appointments. No customer service with no signs nothing working as it should. Didn't get close to snack bar. Probably out of everything anyway. Will save myself and the kids the headache and disappointment we have had on the few times we have gone. This theater was so nice and clean when it first opened up but damn the quality has dropped drastically since a year ago. My last few visits to this theater has been so bad, from the shrinkflation of their food items to their theater volume being ridiculously loud. Occasionally they start the movies early, the popcorn is a hit or miss, and the seats are sometimes covered with popcorn. Today, the floor of the lobby and parts of the building was covered in a weird sticky substance, I felt like I was stepping on a cluster of chewed up bubble gum. I don't know if someone accidentally mopped the place with glue but all the staff were ignoring the elephant in the room. When I finally arrived to my seat in the theater, it was covered in popcorn from the previous movie goer and I was quite grossed out. And when the movie started, I was reminded of how loud this theater liked to turn on their sounds and I wished I brought some noise cancelling headphones. I swear with their volume, astronauts could hear the movie. Unfortunately, this movie theater is the closest to me or else I would rather drive to Redlands for a better movie experience. read more

One of the worst movie theaters I have ever been too. A year ago I went to see Top Gun 2. Tons of us sat and waited for the movie to play and finally multiple people went out and told the staff. About 30 minutes late they told us we could t see the movie and we can try again tomorrow or get a refund. I opted to try again. Next day, I went back and still no movie. I decided to grab my refund. Fast forward to a year later my mom and I came to see Exorcist: Believer. The movie was supposed to start at 6:05 pm. The movie did not start until 630 after people had to go out and tell the staff. Poor customer service, the theater was dirty, and the food is so expensive and does not taste good. Just a bummer of a place to go. Spend the extra time and go to Redlands. read more

My husband and I had an awful experience here tonight. We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled movie time and ordered some hot food. Not only did they take ages to make it (it was busy, so understandable) but when they called out our receipt number for our food, they gave me chicken tenders instead of popcorn chicken. I couldn't say anything because they put the food on the counter and walked off into the back of the kitchen. I waited for a few minutes, only to overhear one of the kitchen workers talking to another customer who had complained because they received popcorn chicken instead of the chicken tenders they ordered (obviously our orders had been mixed up) and the worker straight up told them I'd "taken" theirs. At this time, the movie was starting so my husband offered to sort it so I could go and sit down. After TWENTY MINUTES, he finally came into our screen with the correct food, only to tell me the worker argued with him and blamed me for the mix-up, even though I did nothing wrong - I simply picked up the food they put on the counter when calling the number on my receipt out (I watched her put the food on the counter and call my number, plus it was the only food on the counter AND the cardboard tray also had the pretzel bites we ordered, so there's no way I picked up the wrong one). I wanted to complain to a manager once the movie was over but I unfortunately had to rush home. Not only am I unhappy at being labeled a thief for someone else's mistake, but it's also completely unacceptable that my husband had to miss 20 minutes of the movie that we paid to see because of it. We come here at least once a month, it's our local theatre, but we will not be coming back because we feel so utterly disrespected. read more

I like going to this theater. It's close and we love the recliners. We like the refill on the large popcorn. My husband always get refill to take home. So he enjoys movies popcorn at home. I'm picky about what I see at the movies and usually there is something I will watch that is playing. Again I like it being close to home and we can join our other family and we have a movie date with our family members. read more

Terrible movie theater! This is the second time in four months that I have gotten sick from eating their popcorn here! Came here for beetlejuice 2 and ended up having to go to the hospital a few hours later due to something I ate. At first I thought it was the chicken salad I had at home before but after the second hospital visit (last night after visiting here in the afternoon) I realized it was in fact the popcorn. As I bought a small with butter both times and it seems to be the common denominator.I have been violently throwing up and cannot keep anything in my stomach. Doctors said it's definitely food poisoning so beware this theater might not be as clean as they like to state! read more

Went to the movies today with my family. Lady in front was clearly upset that the drink machines were broken. She was swearing at the employees with small children present and demanding she get a discount because she can't drink her refrigerated soda without ice. The entitlement and rage over ice was crazy! A year later and if they are busy and someone is taking tickets at the kiosk, the WILL check your bag. Lately, I've gone when they are not busy and they will tear your ticket at point of purchase. No bag checking then!! But why? They don't want you bringing in drinks or snacks. They want you to buy your own. And there is a sign saying no outside drinks or food permitted. They are NOT checking for weapons!!! I had to take a pill followed buy 8 oz of water. Had it in my bag. No matter how I tried, they would not let me in with it. Good luck. read more

Their ticket prices for kids we went to a rated R movie. They didn't let us get kids tickets. They were disrespectful. The slushy were melted. Their popcorn was cold. The theater was dirty. And their theaters were almost empty for a reason. We we tried to get our cousin from out the theaters and they said once you leave, it's a wrap you can never come back in until you buy another ticket. read more
