Attention: unless your child is small and petite and is bendable like Gumby your child will be put in the back in dance routines and all the money you spend on being on the team, no matter how much talent, commitment or wonderful attitude your child has which is what the owner states that's what it is based on is a lie. It's about them picking the smallest girls who can do the most acrobatic tricks to gain more points in competition. Unless you're a parent who wants to do favors for the studio your child will not be given the opportunity to shine. This studio is not a studio that has all dancers best interest just those parents that does favors for the studio. So be warned. Unless your child has been a circus acrobat in the circus I do not recommend this studio. Also the studio is worn down with a broken vending machine rude front staff. Struggling to survive and sticking it to the parents to stay in business and charging extra for costumes to pocket the money don't get me started on rhinestone fee that you could buy a bag for ten dollars and get charged for $30. Teachers pick and choose who they work with during class time. I suggest you watch! Half of the older classes are not being recorrected or showed the proper technique. Only who the teacher sees fit. The owner tries to act like a godly woman, but is a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you sit back and observe you will see my point. Heaven forbid you have a suggestion to help all the dancers shine. U will be met with a passive aggressive behavior and condescending attitude, and never question any choreography even if your child is uncomfortable doing it. read more

My child had been dancing since she was three she took classes 5 days a week every class that was available has a passion for dance and is committed talented determined and attended every competition and event . Is the sweetest child you could meet and because the owner was told that my child did not like the dance she choreographed that it was rude after dancing there for 7 years she was kicked off the team and out of the studio . The studio is a clic. Like in high school do favors for the studio and their child gets put front n center . It's turned into political garbage , one hand washes the other so if that's the kind of studio you would like you and your child to be involved with. That would be the place for you , otherwise find a honest studio that allow each child to have the opportunity to shine read more

This review can't even come close to how I feel about this dance studio. My daughter and son have been coming here for almost 15 years and I have seen a tremendous growth not just in dance but more importantly it has molded them into overall great individuals. All of this comes from a nurturing atmosphere full of love and acceptance. It is not just a place to come and learn but a place where you can call home. They are very family oriented and all the instructors and staff are what we call family. All businesses have their ups and downs and come with learning curves but I can't say enough good things about Dance Spectrum and what they have to offer for your kids. They have over the top productions at the end of the year and every other year production of The Nutcracker which are always amazing. You would never know that it was put together by a small town studio.There are many genres to choose from and are offered for both girls and boys. I highly recommend Dance Spectrum, it will be a place you call home for life! read more

My family is new to the area and I was so excited to find a dance studio within a reasonable driving distance from our home. My three-year-old daughter was so excited to attend the Mommy and Me ballet classes. Unfortuantely, we were only able to attend two classes because our schedules changed. (I am currently on my final leg of IVF treatment, and most of my blood draws and ultrasound appointments created a time conflict with our class). I received an invoice for the new month; at the same time, I received my treatment calendar and realized that we would not be able to attend any classes for the month being billed. When I realized we weren't going to be able to attend, I emailed their billing person to withdraw my daughter from classes. The response I received was curt, saying they would waive the late tuition fee, but I would still have to pay the $45 monthly fee. I explained that we had only attended two classes the previous month, which added up to $85 for two clases (we had not attended any classes for the month I was being billed). The finance person waived the $45 bill after I explained we had not attended any classes for the month being billed, but the response was (almost) comically condescending ("technically you still owe us the fee but I will be kind and remove it"). Not a very gracious response. I was really surprised to receive such a negative, unfriendly and passive agressive customer service from a business that caters to young children and their families. Not exactly professional. Luckily, the Beaumont/Inland Empire area is booming and there are a lot of other dance schools in the area. Surely there must be one where the staff is kinder (and hopefully with nicer dance studios, too). Another thing I didn't like about Dance Spectrum was that during our two classes, the teacher singled out one student to receive an extra sticker. Both times, my toddler left class sad for not getting the "special" sticker. This kind of rewards system may work for older students, but toddlers are generally too young to understand why they haven't been singled out for a prize. Anyway, I know there are a lot of new families in the Beaumont area and wanted to offer my two cents for fellow mothers looking for a friendly dance studio. Our kids deserve better. read more

The kids love it here! My boy Nicholas started here at 4yrs old. I remember he was so hyper with his ADHD. The staff here is truly, so patient. He is now 10yrs old and has a true passion for dance.. My daughter, Yvonne started at 3yrs old and is now 9. This Studio is truly awesome with kids. Dance Spectrum - Performing Arts Near Me - Beaumont, California

This school offers free ballet classes for boys of all ages--but beware. I suspect that the reason they offer free classes to boys is because they have a hard time retaining them in their school. My son took the ballet and tap combo class for a total of about six months. He was happy, enjoyed performing, and looked forward to going to class every week. I enjoyed the fact that the teacher taught my son to do the more "manly" versions of what the girls were doing, and making him feel as if he is the man of the show. I was positive that the attention given to him would help him to realize how special boys are in dance. There was also a rule that "boys get two stickers," which was cute at first, but now looking back on it I see it more as a cheap bribe. After a while my son started not to like dance very well, but I insisted that he stick with it because it was a love it/hate it sort of situation. But now I realize that he was probably just picking up bad vibes and couldn't express them correctly. The school is extremely protective of their little girls--UNDERSTANDABLY. You have to be buzzed into the building which only adds to the safety and protection that the school strives to keep for their students. However, my ex husband would come watch our son and complain to me that the people of the staff were staring at him and making him feel uncomfortable for being there. The moms did too, even though I was there every week and he and I were obviously there together. My fiance even volunteered for the big show at the end of the year to babysit boys back stage, of which the school maybe has 10. My fiance was glanced at sideways, looked up and down, and asked all sorts of rude questions by the other parents who were there to volunteer. And I get that they were feeling him out. I get that nobody wants a creep who is just there to steal little ballerinas. But really? He's a parent with a student at the school! I decided to enroll my son for ballet a second time as he'd come in late in the last year. When I went in, the female director/owner of the school praised me about how good my fiance was with the children. She went on about it for a little while, and ONLY AFTER HEARING HER PRAISE, I suggested that perhaps he should also sign up for a ballet class. I should have seen what happened next coming from a mile away. After only a few classes, my fiance and son were asked to completely leave the school after my fiance's hands slipped too high while lifting one of the girls. It was completely unintentional, and he was corrected on correct hand positioning. (I laugh so much at this because he'd of probably learned more if they allowed the male dancers to attend every class, but instead they are only invited twice a month.) Furthermore, I had taken a cell phone picture (on the first day of class where photography is allowed) and posted it to Facebook. The photo was of my fiance lifting one of the girls into the air. A friend of his made a comment on the photo that was not exactly wholesome, but it was not a sexual comment at all. Another comment was made under it that was something to the effect of "you love doing ballet don't you," and that person has since deleted their Facebook, thus removing the comment, and my fiance's response to the now deleted comment was misconstrued as being directed at the inappropriate comment. We're told that "a concerned parent" addressed the issue of the photograph and comments and that for this reason my fiance is kicked out of the school as well as my son, citing the "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" rule. Mind you, my fiance was NOT friends with any of the other students on Facebook OR in real life. He did not talk to them any more than he had to in class. He was there to dance and be a part of the show. Now I know why the classes are free for boys and yet there are hardly any there. Now I know why the only men in this class are one of the dads of the girls in the class and the director's husband. I figure being asked to leave is a blessing in disguise. It was only a matter of time before something would get misconstrued or taken out of context to the point of lawsuit, furthermore I think about my son being accused of something like this when he's older and I know now that BALLET IS NOT FOR BOYS. I'm all for the protection of the students, and I'm totally aware that there are bad people in the world. But this wasn't even discussed with us directly, my fiance was handed a letter and asked to leave. Rather than attempt to fix the situation, I realize that this must not be the first time, and it won't be the last time that this has happened at this school. There's nothing I can do at this point except find the next big thing for my kid to love, and get him involved in something where his family's integrity is not questioned. I was a student at Dance Spectrum for only about five or six years but some of my greatest memories are at this place. They have a great program and some of the nicest dance instructors you can find. From ballet to hip hop, there is a class for any age and style. Private lessons can also be scheduled if you need a little extra help. And they have different levels of dance groups that your child can audition for. The dance groups can dance anywhere from the local senior home to Disneyland! The best part is that they an end of the year production every May or June that you as a student or your child student can participate in if they are enrolled in classes when they start to teach the dances. There is no better feeling seeing everything come together at the end of every school year! read more

The owner is remarkable. She is tall and so are my girls, so I enjoy that not all ballerinas have to be short. She is sweet, and smart. I do not have a lot of experience with the rest of the staff because I only choose classes that are taught by Mrs. Pearl. Though I do find one of the front office workers as a bit rude. I do think that these classes are great for dancers who are going to want to keep at it for a while. I see a lot offered for the teen girls. My sister in law attended Dance Spectrum for somewhere around 10 years and learned a lot of confidence and was good for staying active. They are very protective of the girls, more so during the recitals. And the slight inconvenience is well worth the safety of our little dancers. They charge for every little thing and the studio is old and dirty. The instructors for little ones have no idea how to teach kids. Our instructor barely left the front of the classroom to assist the class of 4-8 students, to help learn first steps etc... ridiculous we pay money, and then the performance, ours was in one of the youngest groups, only one performance, was 3 minutes, of one day of the 3 days, yet has to pay just as much as everyone else, outfit $50 dollars for leotard, not shoes or tights, and other stage fees $70, and then tickets. i think its best for older teens, because they get the best instructor. disappointed, not going back, the one in Calimesa seems much better organized, cleaner and happier. read more

My oldest daughter has danced at Dance Spectrum for the past 4 years, and previously for 6 years at another studio. Making the switch was the absolute best decision we could have ever possibly made. Her technique and the love of dance that the teachers have instilled in her is evident every time she takes the floor. She is just one of many amazingly talented dancers of Spectrum Dance Ensemble their performing group. It is no wonder why her little sister is following in her footsteps. In a nutshell I said that no dance spectrum is not perfect but who and what is? If you want to see your kids grow and become confident dancers being taught by teachers who are continually growing and loving on the kids then come here. My daughter has only been dancing from the age of 10(now 13) and you would not believe the growth and change in her. I recently spent over $100.00 on "professional " pictures for the end of the year production with my child in costume. They were taken in the middle of june and have yet to get the pictures package. I will not even give this school any star...my daughter started ballet here when she was three years old...she loved it and almost gone to the RECITAL/Show but could not due to family matters...we paid for her costume and fees and was very sad to not see her perform...the following year after that she stop going since her friends stopped going to tje school...we always wondered why bit now i know...my daughter came back, now 9, wanting to learn HipHop so i was happy to take her back again...this time we decided to attend what they called RECITAL...the truth is, it is a money making show which exploite kids to perform for free....here is my experience...my family had to pay $12/person if you buy ticket early, $15/person at the door same as general public...my daughter had to attend a 6hour reharsal/dress rehersal....her show is only one day but some has two day shows...in one day she performed twice, she has to perform once at 1pm and the other at 5:30pm...we got there and checked-in at 12:30pm the first show did not finish until 4:20pm and we had to wait for her since we know she will be hungry and tired...she waited in a backstage area with no A/C, no snack provided (we had to provide her snack), no water (we had to pack bottled water for her), after we picked her up she was so hungry and tired when her dance only last about 10mins or so...so we thought after that experience we would just blow off the next show which we paid for, but she really wanted us to see her perform so we came back a little late since we had to have dinner before coming back...excited but already not happy with the process i was looking forward to just taking pictures of her...as soon as we got in and tried to settle my camera tripod on the very far right wall of the theater, i was approached by one of the organizers and was told i can not use my camera at all...i told this person i am not using flash since i have a very long lens and a professional quality camera and i am well aware that i cannot dulisturb the performance, also i will only take pics of my daughter...he told me that if i want i can purchase a DVD of the entire show...the theater was hot, no A/C i paid $12/person to watch my own daughter, i am not allowed to take personal photo of her and just paid monthly fees for these greedy people to make money off of her...now, i do not know about any of you but i just feel like i have just burried myself through cow dung...by the way my daughter told us that during the first performance she almost threw up on the stage since it was so hot and she was already very tired waiting three hours backstage...talk about abuse and can i compare this to slavery...they or some may argue that this is all voluntary, i say playing with invested effort, emotion and sentimental value...after the second performance we asked for her at backstage, we were told that if we take her out early she will not be able to performe again on stage...they make us sign on a form for this...the attitude made us feel like they are doing us a favor...and that we are at their mercy...after a 10hr grueling day this is our experience...started the day at 10am prep, driving 45mins one way from Beaumont to Riverside, getting home at around 9pm leaving early after last performance and band from performing again....what a day...another thought, it would have been nicer if the performance was in the same city as the studio since it would have help with local economy...studio is always dirty and stink... read more

I love dance spectrum they are the best I'm attending their school naw it's amazing if I cold go there every day I would they naw have studio C which gives them more space for the student it seems like a problem to me the parents in the waiting room are causing it hard to get to class and do what you have to do I no it's nice to watch your kid dance but if you could like Waite in the parking lot or outside for the kids and or come in wen the class is over to get them it would make it easier for the students and workers read more

This is such a great studio, simply amazing. The teachers are really amazing and care for the students and the owners really love what they do, you can just see the joy in the dancers. I've never felt more at home at a dance studio and for the ten years I've danced here I can truly say I've found passion and love in this studio.
