Bravo to the Temecula Valley Players who have succeeded once again to entertain and keep the audience happy with their adaptation of this Charles Dickens story. What a great way to get into the spirit of the holidays! As soon as the curtains opened for the first act I was blown away by the costumes, set, and ah yes, the performers singing and dancing. I especially liked the choreography and dance numbers in this show. One thing that I noticed was that the background music was a bit too loud and drowned out some of the singing. I had a difficult time hearing the voices and words come through. There were a few other little hiccups during this opening show, but the joy this performance gave me by far overrules any mishaps. Hurray to Old Town Temecula Community Theater, Temecula Valley Players, and the performance of "A Christmas Carol"!

And it's only open on the weekends (Friday to Sunday) from 11am to 4pm. But the docents are wonderful, friendly, and very knowledgable. And I enjoy seeing things like old typewriters, sewing machines, and cash registers. We had about 30 minutes here which if you're not a big history buff, is more than enough. Right up in the second row on side was a great view especially to watch the musicians during their solos. The section numbers are projected on the back walls in giant font so you can't miss it. Think old school movie seats that are super small and you awkwardly have to share a tiny arm rest with the stranger next to you. The ushers were patient and helpful with guiding you to your seats, security was active and did their jobs, singers were able to get off stage easily and interact with the crowds going up and down the aisles which was definitely the best part. You have a great view of the stage as the rows are stadium style vs the summit where it's all one single floor level unless you are sitting up at the top. All in all, a great experience overall and would come back for another show.

The big top is a huge blue tent with several American flags in the parking lot adjacent to the Village, where overflow parking happens in the winter shopping times. It is the perfect spot for the circus. You do have to pay $5 to park near the big top, but could easily park at the mall and walk across the street. Walking up I sort of felt like I was a kid again, all the bright colors and painted faces of the performers, some were working other jobs before the show, very typical for a traveling circus. The woman selling the glow items was really sweet and reminded me of my Baba, but she spoke English and wasn't offering me a plate of Pirozhki. My kids had a hard time deciding which toy they wanted and she was super cool with them and let them explore all the items. We were allowed in and sat in the Arena seats, very good seats are all around but if you can avoid sitting near the emergency aisle you have a clear view. They have chair seating ringside and I think the best of these would be the seats that are 90 degrees from the main entrance, the high bar acrobats land right in front of you there. Plenty of time to buy snacks and drinks and the people walking around are all really nice. About 30 minutes before the show starts they invite kids to the floor to do juggling and balancing with feathers and my kids really liked this. Even my eight year old who thinks he must always be too cool to show he is having fun loved it. The show is about 2 hours long with a 15 minute intermission. The clowns are really funny, they are a high energy duo who are really talented, they play horns and sax, dance and get the crowd energized. The younger one Stevie is a real showman and is an incredible diobolist, my son now wants to learn and I think it is a great skill. The acrobats are incredible, the strength they have is unreal. I was enthralled at each act and loved it as much as all the people I was with. Totally fun for everyone, I really hope they make this an annual stop!!!

The soonest available appointment was a month and a half away, so I figured they must be very busy and booked it. I waited a month and a half for my appointment, gathered all of my documents, evidence, and questions, and showed up prepared. Once I arrived, I was told they couldn't help me because they first needed my signed consent to access my VA file, and that process would take an additional 5-7 days. I'm giving one star because this should have been addressed when I scheduled the appointment. If I had been told in advance that a signed consent form was required, I could have completed it beforehand instead of waiting six weeks only to leave without receiving any assistance. It was a complete waste of time and could have been easily avoided with better communication. Unfortunately, my experience felt like it reflected the kind of unnecessary bureaucracy that many veterans encounter. Veterans seeking help deserve better communication and better use of their time.
