This very aggressive and unprofessional male voice on the line told me that the company has closed down its booking agency. I asked him if he was willing to share the reason for closing down the booking agency. He immediately started screaming at me, talking over me, telling me that I am rude to ask him why the booking agency closed down and called me an ass hole and a jerk. He then hung up the phone on me. The day of, we arrived and he was already set up. He brought the photo booth with props that we requested. The DJ was great. He played our requested songs and brought a lot of energy to the room. The kids had a blast and was sending each other photos of the party for days. I'd recommend getting the photo booth because the kids can take the pictures and they are personalized. The kids can write messages on the screen as well. Prices were reasonable. Overall, I'd use again and recommend to others.

All initial communications went through Jane, the contracts were super easy to read (including all specifications for the venue and day-of the event), and the payments were easy to make. Once we were assigned our DJ, our communication for the actual day of the event all went through her. DJ Mareshah did a great job and was incredibly kind and easy to work with! We had an introduction call to make sure that we both felt it was a good fit (it was!) and she had a similar taste in music to my now husband. We used the Stylus DJ Entertainment planning spreadsheets and were able to lay out the music for the entire event. She talked us through what types of songs we should be thinking about for each part of the event and we were able to take that information and put together a great list. In terms of vendor coordination, she coordinated directly with our venue vendors and planners for the arrival the night of the event. DJ Mareshah was able to get all of the songs that we requested to have on hand and did an incredible job with the logistics, formalities, and announcements. (We had a few moments uncommonly found in wedding receptions - like a choir singing and an icebreaker game.) She was able to maneuver easily between different types of songs throughout the event and found the types of songs that the guests enjoyed the most and was able to home in on those at the end of the night. I am BIG BIG into music - a huge fan of 80-90s rock and an electric guitarist myself (aspiring :)) so when it came to finding an artist that truly could capture this love for music, my fiance and I were very very intentional. The People: We picked Stylus in part because it is SO AWESOME that it is run by women - and inclusive of all people. AND it is run by a bad ass artist named Jane who is a musical genius on top of being a kind soul. Her and her staff care deeply about their work and the art they make. Collaboration: Jane was so intentional in our planning process in incorporating our musical perspective and opinions as we built playlists on playlists together for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - shifting between genres and vibes. Simultaneously, I will say however, we could just simply give her a vibe like Goo Goo Dolls and Hootie & the Blowfish and she could create a welcome playlist that seemed to read our minds - deeply resonating with me and the songs I cherished from my family and childhood without me even having to list them for her. I still listen to this playlist at work and on runs because it so resonated with me. Art Form: Jane did it ALL, spinning vinyl, MC'ing, and digital DJ'ing. She spun vinyl for our colorful vinyl cocktail hour bringing her own cherished vinyl records to the wedding. The vinyl cocktail hour was a deep tribute to 80s rock/pop. To find someone who cared more for 80s rock/pop than I did I didn't think was possible - until I met Jane. She curated a cocktail hour that had our guests reminiscing on their past shouting "I LOVE ZEPPELIN." She spun surrounded by my paintings, and it was just art surrounded by art. She also MC'd our wedding in the most graceful and loving fashion, seamlessly transitioning us between dances and toasts. She ended the night digital DJ'ing the dance portion of our reception incorporating both my and my fiance's wide range of tastes from Rufus Du Sol to Marc Anthony. Bobby was so flexible with everything we insisted: 1) we wanted to a light-up dance floor that would be programmed with the music and he let us crash another event to see what it would look like; 2) he met us at our walk throughs multiple times to make sure everything was taken care of; 3) he worked through power issues with us and got us a silent power generator; 4) we didn't want to own any lights so he worked with us to buy exactly what we needed. My initial call was about a year in advance of our wedding with John Alexander and that went smoothly. I stressed how important the emceeing portion was to me and he ensured me that DJ Nick would be a great fit. I watched DJ Nick's intro videos and loved him so I proceeded with booking. I received an automated email in June that I'd be hearing from my DJ soon, but didn't so then followed up on June 22nd with no response. I then texted John June 25th. Again, no response. We were only 2.5 weeks away from the wedding and had a holiday weekend between so I sent another text the following day to follow up. Finally he responded and said my DJ would call me next week. My DJ did not call. I had to send him another text the following week letting him know my DJ did not call. I told him that instead of waiting on the call I booked a meeting on their online calendar. At that time he just sent me "DJ Khoa" with his telephone number and zero context. This is a week out from my wedding that he tells me we have a different DJ than we booked. it wasn't until I call him and say "What happend with DJ Nick?" that he tells me that Nick had some things come up. It just seems like the owner of a company should be a little more proactive in letting clients know about when an issue arises rather than having a client reach out 4 times and then finding out a week before her wedding that it's a different DJ with a completely different emceeing style. DJ Khoa did a fine job and it's no shade to him but it was not what i was looking for for my wedding. Overall i would avoid Eclipse at all costs and not do business with John Alexander.
