There are loads of volunteer opportunities - delivering food to shut-ins with pets, driving the senior dogs to vet appointments, events, and much more. It is clear the folks here sincerely care for the wellbeing of these dogs. Kathy Wells is volunteer coordinator and she's fantastic - she's at the facility nearly every day! We got Boomer from them and he's so great and so trainable that he's being trained to be a medical service dog for my reactive hypoglycemia! He's the most amazing dog I've ever had! Walking into the barn where supplies are logically sorted and prioritized I realized how big an undertaking this is. Dogs n cats are separate; all the animals seemed truly happy and calm. It's a large footprint with plenty of grassy areas and a playroom for the cats. My situation was difficult and the staff really helped. I donated and will encourage you to do likewise. This dog was abandoned and found in a field with her sister when they were just 10 weeks old and Julie took them into her rescue and sprayed and vaccinated them and found forever homes for them. She is healthy and the best dog that I have ever had. I see Julie out at adoption events from time to time and she has always has amazing dogs and cats and does a great job. I think Gianna thinks she is a puppy. Or maybe it is the other way around. If you are looking to adopt, I highly recommend Royal Rescue. Julie has an amazing network of people who foster. That give homeless Mama's and their babies a chance. Gianna's Mom came in as a feral cat. And due to constant love and touch Gianna's foster Mom, Pam McDonald gave to these Mama and her babies changed the outlook of their lives forever. Gianna is the most loving kitten. When she isn't sleeping side by side with Kylo. She falls asleep on our chest and ends up on our neck. Wrapped around like a scarf. She of course came to us completely litter box trained. We brought our 7 yr old Sheltie in for a checkup. We were never seen by the vet just dealt with the…read morevet tech. Simple check up turned into over $800 with numerous tests. We were told our dog had heart issues and pancreatitis. They put our girl on meds including heart meds. We had a bad feeling based on our visit. We went to another vet and sent all results to a second vet along with a cardiologist and had a echocardiogram done. 3 vets and a cardiologist state our little girl is fine and to remove her from the heart meds immediately. We called and attempted to speak the vet Dr Pam numerous times with no luck and no return call. We ended calling back and spoke to a lady who stated she was the vet tech. We explained what happened and about the major misdiagnosis. The lady said well we won't give any money back as they did the tests. They didn't seem to be concerned that they totally misdiagnosed our dog! This is so scary especially with them putting our dog on heart meds when they were not needed! It cost us thousands of dollars all for a misdiagnosis, which could have resulted in major issues for our dog. The office manager was supposed to call us back to discuss but never did.

Asked to see cats and she was as cold as ice, made us wait, told us we couldn't touch any of them, that we needed to be approved first. It's unfortunate for Nate's because it's a beautiful place, but I'm never going back there! The man I drove is seriously underweight and could pass for homeless but he is certainly not. I was trying to convince him that he had enough dogs. On the way out a young man that works there started yelling something at us. I am hearing impaired so didn't hear him at first. He was screaming that we were banned. I asked why I was banned.He said because I was associating with the person that I gave a ride to. Wow! This place is supposed to be about compassion. There are other places to adopt your dogs from.
